How to Run a 24/7 Om Chanting Live Stream on YouTube

A practical guide to looping an Om chant on YouTube around the clock, from channel activation and encoder setup to copyright, monitoring, archives, and cloud streaming.

To run Om chanting continuously on YouTube, prepare a chant recording and visual loop you have rights to use, enable live streaming on an eligible verified channel, then send the loop through an encoder using YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key. You can keep that encoder running on a dedicated computer or use a cloud playlist service. Plan for monitoring and archiving: YouTube automatically archives streams that end before 12 hours, so a longer broadcast should not rely on one uninterrupted stream for a complete replay.

1. Prepare and check your YouTube channel

  1. Verify the channel and enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, follow the live-stream setup flow and confirm that the channel has no current live-streaming restrictions. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so do this before the day you plan to launch. The general YouTube Live page states a minimum age of 16. See YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
  2. Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, use the Create button and select Go live to enter the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the stream there. Labels and layout can change, so use YouTube’s current on-screen prompts if they differ.
  3. Decide whether the broadcast will be public, unlisted, or private. Check the resulting watch page from a signed-out browser or another device before sharing it. This catches visibility and playback issues that may not be obvious in the Studio preview.

2. Prepare the chant and visuals—with rights cleared

Use an audio recording and visual material you own or have licensed for the intended use. Check the rights for the actual recording and performance, the composition or arrangement where relevant, and every image, animation, or video in the loop. The permission should cover continuous livestreaming, the territories where the stream will be available, and monetization if you plan to monetize. The specific license needed depends on the works you choose; an online “royalty-free” label or devotional purpose alone does not establish that a particular use is permitted.

  • Keep copies of licenses, permissions, and relevant receipts where you can retrieve them.
  • Check whether the license allows looping, livestreaming, and use on an archived replay as well as the live broadcast.
  • Do not assume permission for a recording also covers its composition, arrangement, performers, or accompanying visuals.

If you are unsure whether a particular asset is cleared for your use, replace it with material whose rights you can verify before going live.

3. Choose how to keep the stream running

Setup What it does well What you must manage Best fit
StreamNeo Runs uploaded videos as a continuous YouTube stream from the cloud, so a home computer does not need to stay on; one flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with a free first day. You depend on a hosted service and still need valid rights, correct YouTube configuration, and monitoring. A creator who wants a cloud-hosted loop without keeping a local encoder running.
Dedicated computer and encoder Direct control over the playlist, graphics, and production; a cloud playlist subscription is not inherently required. The computer, power, internet connection, source media, and encoder process must stay available. You handle monitoring and recovery. A technically comfortable creator with suitable always-on hardware and stable upload connectivity.
Another cloud playlist service A hosted service can maintain the output after you upload media, reducing local encoding and upload demands. YouTube’s encoder directory includes cloud-oriented options. Review subscription terms, supported formats, data handling, recovery behavior, and provider dependency before choosing one. A creator who prefers hosted operation and has checked the service’s current capabilities.

YouTube’s verified encoder listing includes OBS, Gyre, and Upstream; the listing is not a guarantee of service uptime or a recommendation for any particular setup. See YouTube’s live streaming encoder directory. Whichever arrangement you choose, it does not replace rights clearance or a plan for monitoring and archive limits.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

4. Set up a local computer and encoder

This route is for a prerecorded chant and visual loop. A microphone is not required unless you intend to chant live or capture new vocal audio. Keep the source file accessible to the encoder for the whole broadcast, and use a computer, power supply, and internet connection you can leave operating. Encoder controls differ, so exact button names depend on the software; OBS is one option listed in YouTube’s encoder directory.

  1. Prepare a continuous audiovisual source. In the encoder, add the chant recording and visual loop as media sources or build a playlist that repeats. Confirm the audio and video stay synchronized at the loop point and that the playlist advances or repeats as intended.
  2. Connect the encoder to YouTube. In Live Control Room, open the stream’s encoder settings and copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding encoder fields. Do not show, publish, or share the stream key: it functions like a credential for sending video to your channel. If a key is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before continuing.
  3. Set output to match your source and connection. Avoid changing the source into a quality the file does not contain. Choose a resolution and frame rate the computer and upload connection can sustain, then use the encoder’s recommended settings for that output. The supplied setup information does not establish a universal bitrate, keyframe interval, or resolution suitable for every source and connection; use YouTube’s current encoder guidance and test the result rather than guessing a number.
  4. Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Confirm that the Live Control Room receives both picture and sound before starting or scheduling the public broadcast. Check for clipping, silence, black frames, unexpected overlays, and a clean repeat at the end of the loop.
  5. Test the viewer experience. Open the watch page on a phone and another device or browser. Check that the intended audience can access it, the audio is audible at a reasonable level, and the visual loop plays correctly.
  6. Test recording and recovery. If you plan to keep a local recording, verify that the file is actually being written and that the destination has room. Test how you will restart the encoder and restore the playlist after a disconnect or computer restart.

5. Monitor the broadcast and plan the replay

During operation, monitor YouTube’s stream status and the encoder for dropped connection, stalled video, or silent audio. A locally hosted stream can stop if the computer sleeps or restarts, the network fails, power is interrupted, the media file becomes unavailable, or the encoder process exits. Disable sleep for the broadcast machine, keep the source files available, and have a restart procedure you can follow. YouTube recommends continuous quality monitoring; see YouTube Help: Stream health and troubleshooting.

YouTube automatically archives streams that end before 12 hours. For a broadcast that may continue longer than that, plan a recording or archive strategy rather than relying on a single uninterrupted stream to produce a complete automatic replay. See YouTube Help: Archive live streams.

6. Understand monetization separately from copyright

Having permission to use chant audio and visuals does not by itself make a channel eligible for monetization. YouTube Partner Program eligibility and channel-policy compliance are separate requirements. YouTube also evaluates repetitive and reused content separately from copyright permission. Its monetization policy warns that highly repetitive, interchangeable content with little added value may not be monetizable: YouTube channel monetization policies.

If monetization matters, consider adding original performance, meaningful commentary or context, teaching, or substantial visual variation. These can give a channel more substance, but they do not guarantee YouTube Partner Program approval.

7. Troubleshoot common problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check or do
Live streaming is unavailable Live streaming has not been enabled yet, first-time activation is still processing, or the channel has a restriction. Confirm verification and channel status in YouTube Studio. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation, then check YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.
Live Control Room receives no signal The encoder is not running, or its server URL or stream key is incorrect. Compare the encoder fields with the current values shown for that stream in Live Control Room. Treat the key as private; reset it if exposed.
Preview has video but no sound The audio source may be muted, missing from the encoder scene, or not playing at the source. Check the media player’s audio, encoder meters and mute controls, then listen to the Live Control Room preview before going public.
Picture or sound keeps stalling The local connection, computer, or encoder may not sustain the selected output. Check stream health, lower output settings if necessary, and test stability before relaunching. Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for settings appropriate to your output.
The loop stops or does not restart cleanly The playlist may not be set to repeat, the source may be unavailable, or the encoder may have stopped. Test the loop boundary before launch, keep source media accessible, and confirm the encoder’s restart and recovery steps.
The replay is incomplete or missing after a long broadcast The stream ran beyond YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive behavior or did not end as expected. Use a separate recording/archive plan for longer broadcasts and verify that the local recording is being written.
