You can run relaxing music on YouTube with an encoder that sends an audio mix and a still or looping visual to YouTube Live. Before you start, confirm your channel is eligible, secure permission for the music to be used in a livestream and any replay, and test the encoder and connection. “24/7” describes the intended format—not guaranteed uninterrupted uptime: YouTube’s guidance does not promise that a stream can run indefinitely or restart automatically.

What you need before you start

  • A YouTube channel eligible to livestream.
  • A computer running streaming-encoder software, plus the audio and visual assets you plan to send. YouTube supports encoder-based streams for productions with graphics; it does not specify a minimum computer model or specification.
  • Music permission that covers the livestream and, if you keep the replay, the archived video.
  • A reliable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the stream bitrate and other network traffic.
  • A plan to monitor playback and respond if the encoder, connection, or stream fails.

YouTube also supports mobile, webcam, and console livestreaming, but an encoder is the most suitable of those methods when you need to combine music with a still image or looped visual. None of the listed methods is described as guaranteeing continuous operation. YouTube’s live-streaming overview describes the available methods.

Check that your channel can go live

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.
  2. Check that livestreaming is available for your channel. YouTube’s general eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, have had no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16.
  3. Allow time to address any access or setup issue before announcing a continuous stream. Eligibility to go live does not clear music rights or guarantee that a particular broadcast will remain available.

See YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance for the channel-specific controls.

Get permission for the music before broadcasting

You are responsible for the rights needed to use the music in a YouTube livestream. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions say providers must have all necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Ask the rights holder or licensing provider to confirm in writing that the permission covers:

  • Public performance in a YouTube livestream, not just use in an ordinary uploaded video.
  • The territories where viewers may access the stream.
  • Monetization, if you intend to enable it.
  • The archived replay, if YouTube saves or displays one.
  • Any Content ID steps required to prevent an authorized stream from being interrupted.

A “royalty-free” label, a purchase, or a subscription does not by itself establish that a track is cleared for your exact use. Check the actual license terms and ask the provider about YouTube’s Content ID process.

Understand YouTube’s live copyright scanning

YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. If it identifies a match, it may replace the content with a placeholder; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party material to ask the owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that step, a licensed track can still trigger an interruption. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and confirm the required process with the rights holder.

Do not treat Creator Music revenue sharing as live-stream permission

YouTube says Creator Music revenue-sharing videos cannot be livestreams. A permission intended for an ordinary video upload is not evidence of permission to broadcast that track live. For other Creator Music terms, check the specific track’s usage conditions. YouTube’s Creator Music guidance explains the restriction.

Set up the encoder and preview the stream

  1. Create a live stream in YouTube Studio. Set the title, visibility, and other stream details in the Live Control Room. Follow the current interface prompts for the intended broadcast.
  2. Copy the stream key and server URL into your encoder. YouTube’s stream key is a credential that tells the encoder where to send the feed. Keep it private; anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
  3. Prepare the audio and visual mix. Add the cleared music and your still image or looping visual in the encoder. Check that the music is audible without clipping and that the visual behaves as intended over time.
  4. Configure the encoder ahead of the broadcast. YouTube recommends setting up in advance so you can find problems before viewers arrive. Use settings supported by your encoder and the YouTube controls available to your channel; do not assume a particular setting will suit every connection or computer.
  5. Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the expected audio and picture reach YouTube before making the stream public or promoting it.
  6. Test the public watch page and the full playback chain. Check sound, picture, the loop transition, and what a viewer sees. Decide who will monitor the stream and what they will do if playback stops.

YouTube recommends checking the preview and continuously monitoring audio and video quality. Its encoder setup tips cover advance configuration and monitoring. A successful test is useful, but it cannot establish that the stream will run without interruption indefinitely.

Plan upload bandwidth and recovery

Compare the encoder’s total stream bitrate with the upload bandwidth actually available while the broadcast is running. YouTube recommends leaving 20% room between total stream bitrate and available upload bandwidth; include primary and backup stream traffic in the total when applicable. Other devices and network use also compete for capacity. Its network guidance warns that connection disruption can break a stream.

Run a rehearsal before calling it a 24/7 stream

Let the complete setup run long enough to observe ordinary playback and any recurring problems before relying on it. During the rehearsal, check:

  • Music level, unwanted silence, distortion, and whether the loop transition is audible.
  • Visual playback and whether the image or loop behaves correctly in the YouTube preview and on the watch page.
  • Encoder status and network warnings in the controls available to you.
  • Who is responsible for monitoring and how they will respond to a stopped stream, an audio or video fault, or a copyright interruption.
  • Whether the saved replay, if enabled, is covered by the same rights as the live use.

YouTube’s current help explains setup, restrictions, and monitoring, but it does not establish a universal maximum duration or guarantee that a channel, encoder, or connection can sustain an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. Check the live controls and current platform requirements for your channel.

Common problems and what to check

Problem Likely area to check What to do
You cannot start a livestream Channel access or eligibility Check verification, recent live-stream restrictions, and the Live Control Room’s current eligibility status. YouTube’s general guidance lists verification and no restriction in the previous 90 days as prerequisites.
The encoder is not reaching YouTube Stream key, server URL, or encoder configuration Confirm that the key and server URL in the encoder match the stream created in YouTube Studio. Keep the key private and check YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.
The preview has no sound or picture Encoder inputs or mix Check that the intended audio and visual sources are active in the encoder, then inspect the Live Control Room preview before going public.
The stream buffers or disconnects Upload capacity or network disruption Compare total stream bitrate with available upload bandwidth, leaving YouTube’s recommended 20% room. Account for other network use and any backup stream traffic; monitor the connection.
Music is replaced or the stream is interrupted Third-party match, rights, or Content ID allowlisting Check YouTube’s copyright notice and contact the rights holder. Confirm the license covers live use and ask whether the channel needs to be allowlisted. A license alone may not prevent an interruption.
The livestream works but the replay is a problem Archive rights Check that your permission covers the archived replay as well as the live performance, and review the replay’s status in YouTube Studio.
