You can earn from a 24/7 YouTube livestream through watch-page ads, eligible fan-funding features, Shopping, YouTube Premium viewing and, separately, brand partnerships. You must first qualify for and be accepted into the relevant YouTube Partner Program (YPP) tier; streaming around the clock does not guarantee approval, ads, viewers or income.
For Indian channels, the lower YPP tier starts at 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the past 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the past 365 days or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. Watch-page ad revenue requires the higher threshold: 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the past 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. Which monetization options can a 24/7 stream use?
The options differ in their eligibility and in whether income depends on ad delivery or viewers choosing to pay. A stream can use more than one route if the channel and content meet the relevant requirements.

Meet the right YPP threshold for the feature you want
Lower tier: selected fan-funding and Shopping features
For India, the expanded YPP threshold is 500 subscribers, at least three public uploads in the previous 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified long-form public watch hours in the previous 365 days or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. This tier can unlock selected fan-funding and Shopping features, subject to each feature’s own eligibility conditions; it does not by itself unlock watch-page ad revenue. Higher tier: watch-page ads and Premium revenue
For ad-revenue sharing, the threshold is 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified public long-form watch hours in the previous 365 days or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Reaching the numbers is not automatic admission: YouTube reviews the channel after you accept the YPP terms and link an active AdSense for YouTube account. Public livestream watch hours must qualify
Public livestream watch time can count toward the long-form threshold only if the stream is converted to a video on demand (VOD). Unlisted, deleted and livestreams that are not converted to VOD do not count as qualified public watch hours. Check replay settings and confirm that the finished stream remains public and available as a replay if you are relying on its hours. YouTube’s watch-hour rules describe these exclusions.

Enable ads on an eligible live stream
After YPP acceptance and the relevant monetization terms are in place, enable monetization for the livestream in YouTube Studio. When live monetization is enabled, YouTube says pre-roll and display ads turn on automatically. You can use automatic or manual mid-rolls. YouTube’s live ad settings explain the available controls.
Choose a mid-roll approach
- Automatic: YouTube offers low, medium and high frequency settings. This controls the intended frequency, not guaranteed delivery to each viewer.
- Scheduled: You can set mid-roll intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24 or 30 minutes. These are configuration choices, not a recommended schedule or a promise that an ad will play at every interval.
- Manual: Insert breaks when appropriate for the stream. Consider whether a break interrupts gameplay, commentary or another live moment.
Ad availability and income vary, and YouTube does not guarantee that every ad opportunity will serve. A continuous stream is not the same as continuous ads.
Make the stream eligible and worthwhile to viewers
Meet policy and feature conditions
YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to livestreams. Ad-supported content must meet advertiser-friendly guidelines; fan-funding features have their own requirements, and first-time fan-funding users must accept the Commerce Product Module. Give recurring supporters a reason to return
For a gaming stream, memberships are most useful when their creator-defined perks or community interaction are clear. Super Chat and Super Stickers depend on viewers choosing to participate in live chat; they are not automatic payments for keeping a stream online. Shopping and brand partnerships likewise depend on suitable eligible products or actual commercial arrangements, not stream duration.

Keep the replay decision in mind
If accumulating qualified long-form hours is a goal, the public VOD matters: unlisted, deleted or non-converted livestreams are excluded. The official guidance cited here does not establish a maximum archive duration or a technical limit for continuous streaming, so check YouTube Studio and current Help guidance for the channel’s situation.

DIY with your own computer and streaming software
A computer-based setup can keep a pre-recorded gaming video or loop live, but the computer and its internet connection must remain available for the stream to continue. The exact encoder settings depend on your source, upload capacity and YouTube’s current recommendations; the sources cited for this article do not establish a universal bitrate, resolution or keyframe value for every setup. Use YouTube Studio’s current stream settings and test the stream before relying on it for long sessions.

What income should you expect?
There is no evidence-backed fixed India RPM or typical monthly income figure for a 24/7 stream in the sources cited here. Revenue depends on whether the channel is accepted and eligible, whether ads actually serve, viewing and audience behavior, and whether viewers choose to use fan-funding features or buy through eligible Shopping offers. Treat eligibility as permission to apply for or enable a feature, not as a forecast.
