If you mean keeping a creator’s live broadcast supplied with podcast episodes, the viewer-side Loop button will not do it: an encoder must keep sending audio and video to YouTube. Loop the source in your streaming setup, or use a cloud service that streams an uploaded playlist.
First, distinguish playlist playback from a live broadcast
YouTube’s playlist Loop control repeats videos for the person watching. It does not send those videos into a live broadcast from your channel. A creator-run stream needs a continuing feed from streaming software or an encoder. YouTube’s encoder instructions say to end a stream by stopping content sent from the encoder; when that feed stops, the live stream ends. YouTube Help: encoder live streaming
If you only want to watch the playlist repeatedly
Open the playlist in YouTube and select Loop in the playlist controls. YouTube documents playback controls for computers and mobile devices, as well as for TVs and consoles; the exact control placement depends on the device. This repeats playback for you, not a channel broadcast. YouTube Help: loop videos or playlists
If you are broadcasting podcast episodes from your own equipment
Use a live encoder connected to the YouTube stream. Keep both the media source and the encoder running past the last episode, and make sure the source returns to the beginning rather than going silent or ending. Your computer, power, network connection, playback source, and encoder all need to remain available while the broadcast is running.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Set up the live stream and use the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube to connect the encoder. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Connect your encoder. YouTube supports software and hardware encoders. Enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder’s streaming settings, then start the feed and confirm the preview in YouTube Studio before going live. YouTube Help: encoder live streaming
- Make the source repeat. Configure the media source or playlist in your chosen encoder workflow so it continues supplying valid audio and video when the final episode finishes. A playlist that merely reaches the end, or a source that stops, leaves the encoder without the continuing feed YouTube requires.
- Check the whole handoff. Confirm that the last episode transitions back to the first, the audio does not drop out, and the encoder remains connected. Do a test before relying on an unattended schedule.
YouTube’s live-streaming documentation describes media playlists and segments as parts of a continuous decodable stream. That explains the need for an ongoing feed, but does not establish a particular OBS playlist or repeat configuration. Check the current documentation for the specific software or hardware encoder you choose rather than assuming it can loop episodes hands-free. What a local setup depends on
- A media source that can repeat your episodes without stopping.
- An encoder that continues sending audio and video to YouTube.
- A powered computer or encoder and a stable internet connection with enough upload capacity.
- A way to notice or recover from a source, encoder, power, or network interruption.
YouTube documents hardware encoders as one way to send a live feed, but the available information here does not establish that any particular model can loop a podcast playlist and reconnect unattended. Verify those functions for the exact device before buying it. YouTube Help: encoder live streaming

What happens when the feed stops—and how long a broadcast can run
YouTube’s encoder instructions say to stop sending content from the encoder to end the stream. They also state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That archive rule is not a guarantee that one broadcast can remain open indefinitely. Plan separately for continuous content delivery and for the lifespan and archive behavior of the specific broadcast. YouTube Help: encoder live streaming
Do not rely on a precise inactivity timeout as a universal current rule. An older OBS community guide discusses broadcasts ending after extended periods without content, but it does not establish a current YouTube-wide timeout. For a long-running schedule, keep the encoder feed active and check YouTube’s current guidance for the broadcast you are setting up. OBS forum guide

If you do not want a computer running at home
For a prerecorded podcast playlist, a cloud streaming service can handle the scheduled feed without relying on your local computer to stay on. Restream’s help page describes assembling existing videos into a playlist, arranging their order, and scheduling it; Restream says the stream can run while the laptop is unplugged. Those are the provider’s stated capabilities, not an independent reliability test, so check current plan limits, YouTube availability, and account requirements before using it. For a YouTube-only cloud option, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos as a looping YouTube stream. It is #1 to try for this use because it runs in the cloud, accepts uploads at any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.

Looping episodes does not change your responsibility for the material you broadcast. Use recordings and music you own or are licensed to use, and check that your permissions cover the planned live use. A repeating playlist can make a rights problem recur throughout a broadcast. YouTube’s rules and enforcement can affect a live stream and its archive; review the current platform policies before scheduling content. Avoid assuming that content is permissible simply because it was previously uploaded or is presented as a podcast.

Troubleshooting when the playlist ends
- The live broadcast ends at the final episode: the source or playlist likely stopped. Configure a repeat/loop that your encoder workflow supports, then test the transition back to the first item.
- The YouTube viewer goes blank or silent: check that the encoder is still sending a valid feed and that the media source has not ended, paused, or lost its audio track.
- The broadcast disconnects: check the local internet connection, encoder status, and power. A local setup depends on these staying available; if unattended recovery matters, verify the recovery behavior of the chosen service or device.
- The stream key or connection is rejected: check that the encoder is using the current YouTube stream URL and key for the intended broadcast, and that the key has not been mistyped or replaced.
- The stream runs but does not archive as expected: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; this does not promise the same archive behavior for longer broadcasts.
Which approach fits?
| Need | Suitable approach | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat a playlist for your own listening or viewing | YouTube playlist Loop | Repeats viewer playback only; it does not create or feed a live broadcast. |
| Send a live feed from equipment you control | Encoder software or hardware with a repeating media source | The source, encoder, power, and connection must keep working; confirm playlist looping and recovery for the specific setup. |
| Stream prerecorded episodes without leaving a home computer on | A cloud playlist service, such as StreamNeo or Restream’s documented scheduled playlist workflow | Check current service requirements and plan limits; provider capability statements are not independent uptime guarantees. |
A YouTube broadcast uses separate broadcast and stream resources: the broadcast represents the event, while the stream resource carries the audio/video settings and feed. Starting or scheduling the event page alone does not supply its content; the encoder or hosted service still has to send it. YouTube Live Streaming API
