You cannot set custom Super Chat amounts or rupee tiers as a creator. You can enable Super Chat for an eligible channel in YouTube Studio; each viewer chooses an amount from the options shown in their purchase flow. YouTube’s reviewed help pages do not publish an India-specific amount ladder or minimum and maximum, so check the live purchase screen rather than relying on an assumed price list.
Turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio
- Check eligibility. Your channel must be in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), you must be at least 18, and you must live in a location where Super Chat is available. You also need to accept the applicable Commerce Product Module or legacy Commerce Product Addendum. India appears on YouTube’s current creator-availability list. See YouTube’s eligibility, availability, and policies and YouTube’s commerce monetization policies.
- Open Supers. In the YouTube Studio mobile app, tap Earn, then Supers. If the Supers card is missing, open the Supers section and tap Get started, then Turn on.
- Complete the prompts. Follow the on-screen instructions. First-time setup may ask you to sign the Commerce Product Module. YouTube’s current activation instructions are at Turn Super Chat & Super Stickers on or off.
Once enabled, Super Chat and Super Stickers can appear on eligible live streams and Premieres with live chat enabled. Enabling the feature does not let you set what an individual viewer must pay.
How viewers choose an amount
During an eligible live stream, a viewer opens the purchase flow and selects an amount by moving the slider or entering a desired value. They can add an optional message and submit the purchase. The amount can affect the chat color and how long the message is pinned. YouTube explains the purchase flow in Buy a Super Chat or Super Sticker.
The amount, buyer’s channel name, and profile picture are publicly visible. A Super Chat belongs to the live chat and video where it was bought; it does not transfer to another video.

What Indian viewers can pay—and what is not published
YouTube’s reviewed official help pages do not provide a current India-specific Super Chat price ladder, minimum, or maximum in rupees. The amount options shown in a viewer’s own live-chat purchase screen are the practical reference for that account and device. Do not treat channel-membership prices as Super Chat amounts: memberships are a separate product with separate pricing.
Creators can review recent purchases and transaction information in YouTube Studio under Earn > Supers, and view Supers revenue reporting in YouTube Analytics. During a stream, the live-chat feed can be filtered for fan-funding activity, and creators may acknowledge or heart purchases. Why Super Chat may not appear
General YPP acceptance does not guarantee that every feature or stream qualifies. Check both channel eligibility and the particular video’s settings.
- The channel is not eligible or setup is incomplete: Confirm YPP status, age and location requirements, and acceptance of the applicable commerce terms.
- The video is excluded: Super Chat and Super Stickers are unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, or YouTube Giving fundraiser videos.
- Live chat or comments are off: They must be enabled for the eligible live stream or Premiere.
- The Supers controls are missing: Return to YouTube Studio > Earn > Supers, look for Get started, and complete any outstanding prompts. If the channel meets the general criteria but the feature remains unavailable, check YouTube’s feature-specific eligibility guidance.
Revenue, visibility, and legal context
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after deductions for local sales tax and iOS App Store fees. This is YouTube’s stated revenue calculation, not a guarantee of a particular payout. Purchases and amounts are publicly visible, so viewers should understand that before sending one.

YouTube Help says, “Super Chat and Super Stickers aren’t crowdfunding or donation tools.” It also notes that local laws may treat the money differently; creators are responsible for complying with applicable laws. See YouTube’s eligibility, availability, and policies.
