You can change a 24/7 YouTube radio stream’s thumbnail and description in YouTube Studio. For a scheduled broadcast, open Create > Go Live > Manage, select the stream, choose Edit, update the available fields, and save. For a stream listed as a video under Content > Live, open its details, make the changes, and select Save.
Change a scheduled or active stream in Live Control Room

Sign in to YouTube Studio.

Select Create > Go Live to open Live Control Room.

For a scheduled stream, open Manage and select the correct broadcast.

Choose Edit to open its settings. Change the description and thumbnail if those controls are available, then save.
YouTube says stream metadata can be set while creating or scheduling a stream, or changed using Edit from the stream settings page. Edit a stream entry under Content

In YouTube Studio, open Content, then select Live.

Select the stream’s title or thumbnail to open its video details.

Edit the description and thumbnail where the fields are available, then select Save.

What to expect when the broadcast runs 24/7
YouTube’s documented instructions cover live, scheduled, encoder, and webcam streams, but do not specify a separate editing workflow just because a broadcast runs continuously. Use the route that matches how the stream was created and how it currently appears in Studio. After saving, check the stream’s watch page to confirm the change; YouTube’s help pages do not specify how long an update may take to appear.

Field missing: The available settings can differ by stream type and state. Try the other applicable Studio route, but do not assume every field can be changed while a particular broadcast is live.
