Use YouTube Studio’s real-time subscriber count to watch your channel’s overall total change while a 24/7 stream is running. To see subscribers attributed to live content, use the channel-level Subscribers report; to check a specific broadcast, open its Analytics after it ends and look for New Subscribers. These are different measurements: YouTube’s documentation does not establish a live-updating subscriber-gain counter for an individual stream that is still running.
Which YouTube Studio report should you use?

Do not subtract the start-of-stream channel total from the current total and call the difference subscribers gained from that stream. Other channel activity can affect the total, and the real-time count does not assign each subscription to the active broadcast.
How to watch your channel total while the stream is live
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics → Overview.
- Find the real-time card and select SEE LIVE COUNT.
- Note the count as a channel-wide baseline, then check it again while the broadcast runs. YouTube may display a shortened subscriber count in some parts of Studio; the live-count view shows the count over time.
This is the right view for following overall channel movement during a continuous stream, but not for identifying which video brought in a particular subscriber. YouTube’s subscriber-count guidance also notes that totals can change when closed or spam accounts are removed or when Analytics metrics are corrected. YouTube: Check your YouTube subscriber count.
How to find subscribers attributed to live content
- In YouTube Studio, open channel-level Analytics and go to Content.
- Inspect the Subscribers report and its content-type breakdown, including live streams.
- Choose or compare the reporting period that fits your question where the interface allows. For expanded reports, comparisons, or exports, use the expanded reporting options in Analytics.
This report can help distinguish subscribers gained from live content from the channel’s overall subscriber movement. YouTube documents the content-type report, but does not specify a special interim procedure for attributing gains to a particular 24/7 broadcast while it remains open. How to check one stream’s subscriber result after it ends
- In Studio, open Content → Live.
- Select the completed stream and open its Analytics.
- Review New Subscribers in the post-stream metrics. YouTube defines this as the number of users who subscribed to your channel during the stream.
YouTube says live-stream Analytics metrics on computer are available within minutes after the stream ends. Its documented Live Control Room metrics for an active stream include measures such as concurrent viewers, duration, likes, views, chat rate, and average view duration; New Subscribers is described in the post-stream snapshot, not as a live per-video counter. The documentation does not establish whether that post-stream snapshot can be accessed for a broadcast that is still active continuously, so do not assume it can. How to interpret results from a 24/7 broadcast
- While it is on air: use the real-time count for channel-wide change, and label it as such.
- For live-content attribution: consult the channel-level Subscribers report and its content-type breakdown.
- For one ended event: use that stream’s post-stream New Subscribers metric.
- For an uninterrupted stream: do not present a guessed daily or interim per-video total as an official YouTube figure. The help pages do not specify how attribution is divided by calendar day for a stream left open continuously.
- When totals shift later: remember that YouTube may remove closed or spam subscribers or correct Analytics data.
YouTube says an updated Studio experience is gradually rolling out starting July 2026, so page layouts may differ. Use the report names above as landmarks if your Analytics navigation looks different.
