Build a timetable from separate tracks and visuals
If you want one set of tracks at certain times or days and another set later, you need programming logic that handles individual media segments—not merely a YouTube event scheduler. SavePoint describes importing music, video files, and visual assets into a weekly, time-based schedule. Its performance and automation statements are vendor claims; confirm current behavior and requirements before choosing it.
Keep broadcasts from expiring or needing manual renewal
Broadcast lifecycle automation is distinct from track rotation. YouTube’s documentation says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so a station intended to run continuously needs a plan for stream duration and renewal. 2. SavePoint: self-hosted weekly programming
SavePoint describes a YouTube radio workflow that imports music tracks, video files, and visual assets, then arranges them into time-based segments in a weekly schedule. It also says its software automatically starts, stops, and restarts streams, and that pre-rendering keeps CPU use low during broadcast. Those are product statements, not independently measured results.
Before committing, verify the current release’s supported audio formats and transitions, what machine or server must stay available, how much storage it needs, how outages are handled, and whether schedule edits interrupt a running broadcast. Its documented scheduling concept is the closest fit among the named options for a creator who needs distinct tracks assigned to times of the week.
3. OneStream Live: cloud scheduling of prerecorded video
OneStream’s help center, updated 2026-09-03, describes choosing videos from a device, OneStream storage, or cloud storage, selecting a YouTube channel, and scheduling a 24-hour stream for a chosen duration. The help page says the 24/7 capability is exclusive to YouTube, requires Enterprise, and allows a maximum duration of 30 days. This is a prerecorded-video workflow rather than evidence of a track-level weekly scheduler.
4. OBS Live Stream Segmenter: broadcast renewal automation
The OBS Project forum listing describes Live Stream Segmenter version 1.1.4 as an OBS automation plugin for managing YouTube broadcasts and renewing them with timers so individual streams remain shorter than 12 hours. The listing was last updated 2026-01-17 and specifies OBS Studio 31.1.1 or later, Windows, macOS, or Linux, YouTube live-stream permission, a Google Cloud project with YouTube Data API v3 enabled, and an OAuth2 desktop client.

Those requirements make it a more technical choice. It can address broadcast renewal, but you still need a separate way to play and schedule the lofi tracks and maintain the audio/video feed.
5. YouTube Live Streaming API: custom development
Google’s API overview and reference document ways to create, list, update, bind, and transition live broadcast and stream resources. A developer can use these capabilities to automate broadcast events, but the API itself does not include a playlist interface or media playback engine. A custom station still needs authorized API requests, a player or encoder, track-selection logic, and a system that keeps the feed available.
How to choose without confusing event scheduling with music scheduling
- Choose by media model: If each hour is already rendered as video, look at cloud prerecorded-video delivery. If songs and visuals must be assembled as separate scheduled segments, prioritize a tool that explicitly supports track-level programming.
- Choose by hosting: Cloud delivery reduces dependence on a local computer. A self-hosted scheduler gives you more direct operational control but makes the host, storage, network, and recovery your responsibility.
- Choose by lifecycle: Ask whether the tool only plays media, starts and stops broadcasts, renews events, or handles all of those. YouTube Studio’s event scheduling alone does not create a continuous music rotation.
- Check plan and duration gates: OneStream documents Enterprise as a requirement for 24/7 streaming and a 30-day maximum duration. Confirm the current limits and terms of any service before planning an unattended run.
- Weigh setup against flexibility: A custom API build can match a bespoke timetable, but requires development and ongoing maintenance. OBS automation requires familiarity with OBS plus Google API setup.
- Test the failure cases: Run a short private or otherwise appropriate test of playback, stream-key setup, renewal, and recovery before treating any configuration as unattended.
Set up YouTube’s event and encoder connection
YouTube Studio schedules the broadcast event; the encoder or cloud service provides its audio/video feed. YouTube’s encoder guide describes creating a stream in Live Control Room, then connecting the encoder with the stream URL and stream key. Scheduling an upcoming broadcast does not itself schedule which tracks play.
- Create or schedule the event: In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule an upcoming broadcast. Review the event details and visibility before relying on it as part of a public station.
- Copy the stream connection details: Use the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in screenshots. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s stream settings and update the service or encoder using it.
- Enter the details in the playback service: Add the key to the cloud service or encoder that will send the feed. For a computer-based setup, keep the encoder and playback process running; for cloud playback, verify the uploaded media and channel selection before starting.
- Start the feed and check the preview: Confirm that YouTube receives video and audio, that the correct event is selected, and that playback begins as intended before leaving the station unattended.
- Plan for renewal: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Decide how broadcasts will be renewed or restarted; a scheduled event is not equivalent to an endless stream.
Copyright and channel-policy checks for lofi streams
Having a track in a playlist does not by itself establish the right to broadcast it. Confirm that you have permission for both the music and any visual assets, including any samples, remixes, artwork, or loop footage. YouTube may identify or restrict content through its copyright systems, and rights can differ by track, territory, and use. Review the platform’s current rules and resolve claims through the appropriate rights-holder or YouTube process rather than assuming a continuous stream is exempt.

Also make the channel’s programming meaningfully your own. Repeated or minimally altered material can raise monetization eligibility concerns even where you have permission to use it; copyright permission and monetization policy are separate questions. YouTube shows the event as scheduled, but no video arrives
A scheduled event waits for a live feed. Check that the encoder or cloud service is running, the correct stream URL and key are configured, and the intended event is selected. If a key was changed or exposed, update the sender with the active key.
The stream stops after running for hours
Check the event’s duration and renewal behavior. YouTube’s under-12-hour archival rule means that a long-running station needs a lifecycle plan; track playback software alone may not renew the broadcast. For an OBS-based setup, confirm that the plugin is installed and authorized as documented, and verify its timers during a supervised test.
The playlist schedule is wrong or skips a segment
Inspect the schedule’s time zone, day boundaries, segment start and end times, media availability, and any transition rules. Playback works locally but the stream is unstable
For a self-hosted workflow, check whether the host remains powered, the network connection is stable, and the encoder can sustain the chosen media settings. For a cloud workflow, check upload completion, channel selection, and the service’s stream status. A short supervised run can reveal problems that a schedule preview cannot.
YouTube reports a copyright restriction or claim
Identify the affected track or visual, review the claim details in YouTube Studio, and use only media for which you have the necessary rights. Replace or remove disputed material where appropriate; do not assume that changing the livestream software resolves a rights issue.
Costs and practical planning
There is no independently established overall winner or comparative reliability benchmark for these tools. OneStream’s cited help page establishes a plan gate and run-duration limit, not its price. SavePoint’s cited page describes product behavior but does not establish a comparable cost here.
