Vimeo’s public materials do not show a price for keeping a YouTube stream live 24/7. Vimeo says continuous streaming is available to Enterprise customers as a paid add-on; its public live-streaming page lists Advanced at $75 per month billed annually and Enterprise as custom-priced. Advanced and Premium events are limited to 12 hours per stream, so Advanced’s listed price is not a quote for round-the-clock streaming. Ask Vimeo for an Enterprise quote and confirmation of the add-on’s terms before committing.
What Vimeo plans allow YouTube streaming?
Simulcasting and continuous operation are separate capabilities. YouTube simulcasting sends a Vimeo live event to YouTube; the 24/7 add-on concerns how long a stream can run. Vimeo says YouTube simulcasting requires Advanced or Premium, or Enterprise with the Events feature. Its live-events limits and plan availability are as follows:

The figures and limits in the table are Vimeo’s stated plan terms, not independent capacity benchmarks. The visible Advanced price is not a continuous-streaming price. The Enterprise quote and the add-on’s availability, billing, and terms are not published in the reviewed materials; ask Vimeo directly for them. Prices can vary by geography, billing interval, or promotion.
How to budget for a 24/7 Vimeo-to-YouTube stream
Request an Enterprise quote
Contact Vimeo and specify that you need a continuous YouTube simulcast, not simply an event that can be sent to YouTube. Ask for the Enterprise plan price and the separate 24/7 add-on price, then confirm whether the Events feature is included and what stream-count and duration terms apply to your account. Vimeo’s public materials do not provide the add-on cost, so a precise total cannot be calculated from the published price page.

Check bandwidth and audience expectations
Vimeo’s live-events FAQ describes a 2 TB/month bandwidth policy. It recommends contacting support in advance for very large events, using its own thresholds of 50,000 or more viewers outside the United States or 100,000–150,000 or more in the United States. These are Vimeo’s stated support thresholds, not a guarantee of audience capacity.
Set up the YouTube destination
Vimeo supports connecting a YouTube account directly or configuring YouTube as a custom RTMP destination. Vimeo’s help instructions describe up to 10 destinations through direct integration and up to 20 through custom RTMP; these are destination limits, not a promise about stream duration.

- Verify YouTube eligibility. YouTube requires a verified account to go live. Confirm that live streaming is enabled before scheduling the event.
- Choose a destination method. For direct integration, open the Vimeo event’s Destinations settings, connect or select YouTube, and enable the destination before going live. For custom RTMP, copy the RTMP URL and stream key from YouTube Studio and enter them in Vimeo’s destination settings.
- Start the event and check YouTube. For a scheduled YouTube stream, Vimeo says you may need to select Go live manually in YouTube’s Live Control Room after Vimeo begins sending the stream.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat the key like a password. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the Vimeo destination.
Vimeo warns that angle brackets in the event description may prevent the YouTube stream from working. Remove them if a destination fails unexpectedly.
Encoder settings and plan limits
Vimeo says live streaming requires a reliable internet connection and a camera connected to a supported encoder. Its live-events FAQ states maximum target bitrates of up to 5,000 kbps for Advanced and Premium and up to 9,000 kbps for Enterprise. Vimeo also states that Advanced and Premium support up to 30 fps for live events, while Enterprise supports up to 60 fps. These plan constraints may be narrower than YouTube’s general encoder guidance, and support for a particular codec or mode depends on the Vimeo plan, encoder, and connection.

YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP. Its official encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video encoding, up to 60 fps, CBR bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). Select output settings for the resolution and frame rate you intend to send, and ensure your upload connection can sustain the bitrate. YouTube’s recommendations do not guarantee that every Vimeo plan or encoder supports every listed mode.
Is Vimeo the right fit for always-on YouTube?
Vimeo can suit creators who already use its event workflow and are willing to obtain an Enterprise quote for continuous operation. Its public materials make the main cost caveat clear: the 24/7 add-on price is not published. If you only need a single event up to 12 hours, the ordinary event limits may be sufficient; if the requirement is an uninterrupted channel, confirm the Enterprise add-on rather than assuming Advanced’s annual-billing price covers it.
