What StreamShark Live Scheduler does
StreamShark’s Live Scheduler is for arranging prerecorded Video on Demand (VOD) assets into a schedule that plays as live programming. Its documentation describes scheduled starts or manual starts, and says a looped schedule continues after the selected videos finish until it is manually stopped. It is not the same workflow as sending a live camera feed through an encoder.
The documented setup is to prepare and encode the VOD assets for the Live Scheduler, create a schedule, add videos in the desired order, and either start it manually or set a start time. The support instructions say all VOD items must be active and recommend allowing ample time for larger uploads to process. The scheduler describes HLS and DASH feed URLs as outputs. Can it deliver a 24/7 loop to YouTube Live?
That is the key unresolved question. The reviewed StreamShark scheduler documentation describes HLS and DASH outputs but does not establish a direct YouTube Live destination for a Live Scheduler loop. StreamShark’s general multistreaming statements do not prove that this particular VOD scheduling feature can feed YouTube.

Before purchasing, ask StreamShark to demonstrate the exact path from a Live Scheduler schedule to a YouTube Live event. Get confirmation of whether YouTube receives the output directly, whether an intermediary encoder or service is required, which account configuration is needed, and whether the workflow uses a YouTube stream key. Do not assume that a scheduler feed URL and YouTube’s encoder ingest are interchangeable.
Access requirements and published pricing
StreamShark’s support article says Live Scheduler is currently available to customers whose subscription has a Dedicated Server attached, and advises contacting an account manager or sales representative about access or a trial. The current pricing page places Live Scheduler among Enterprise features. Those statements do not fully explain whether Enterprise, a Dedicated Server, or both are required in a particular account, so request a current written eligibility and configuration quote. StreamShark’s pricing page is the source for the listed plan figures and included transfer.

These are figures shown on StreamShark’s pricing page accessed in 2026; confirm current rates, transfer allowances, overage charges, and any Dedicated Server costs directly with the vendor. The published page lists overage charges but the cited pricing summary does not establish their amount. Since audience delivery can consume substantial transfer, ask for a cost estimate using your expected viewing hours and video bitrate rather than comparing the monthly plan price alone.
What a 24/7 YouTube design must account for
Archive and replay limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its guidance also notes that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. A continuous 24/7 broadcast therefore should not be treated as a guaranteed complete YouTube archive or as a broadcast with unrestricted rewind. If a durable recording matters, keep a separate copy of the source or an independent archive and verify the behavior for the intended setup. YouTube’s archive guidance recommends keeping a local archive as a backup; see also its DVR guidance.

Content rights and channel policy
Use only video, music, and other material you have the rights to stream on YouTube. A scheduler automates playback; it does not grant permission to rebroadcast copyrighted material. Review YouTube’s current copyright and channel policies for your content and account before starting a long-running loop. Keep the schedule focused on material that is genuinely permitted for the channel, rather than assuming that prerecorded or continuously repeated content is automatically safe.

How to evaluate StreamShark before committing
- Get a live demonstration of YouTube delivery. Ask the vendor to show one of your VOD assets moving from a Live Scheduler loop into the intended YouTube Live event, and identify every intermediary, key, and configuration step.
- Confirm access in writing. Reconcile the support documentation’s Dedicated Server condition with the pricing page’s Enterprise feature listing. Ask whether your account can use the scheduler, whether a Dedicated Server is required, and what trial access is available.
- Price the actual delivery. Confirm plan cost, transfer allowance, overage rates, any dedicated infrastructure charges, and the expected total under your likely viewership and bitrate.
- Plan for long-stream recording. Decide how you will preserve the full programming, since YouTube’s stated archive and DVR behavior has a 12-hour caveat.
- Validate readiness and recovery behavior. Confirm accepted VOD formats and profile requirements, processing lead time, what happens if an asset fails, and how operators restart a schedule or respond to a YouTube disconnect. The reviewed documentation does not establish uptime or automatic recovery behavior for this specific deployment.
