Streamlabs documents PayPal Business and PayPal Standard; the payment methods available depend on your account and country.
Connect a payment method
- Open Tipping. Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard and select Tipping.
- Choose an account type. Streamlabs documents PayPal Business and PayPal Standard. Its setup guide describes PayPal Standard as accepting PayPal. PayPal Business is the documented option for credit-card payments and, for US users, Venmo. Availability can vary by account and location.
- Authorize the account. Follow the prompts to connect the corresponding PayPal account, then return to Streamlabs and check that the connection appears in Tipping.
Streamlabs recommends PayPal Business for broader payment options and more control over the personal information viewers see. It is not a guarantee of anonymity: onboarding may require business and personal details, and the information displayed can depend on processor and account settings. Check the details associated with the account you connect before sharing the Tip Page.
Customize the Tip Page
- In Tipping, locate the Tip Page URL and open the page settings.
- Choose a currency and set the minimum tip, suggested amounts, and maximum tip. Set amounts that make sense for your audience and payment method.
- Decide whether to require tipper login, set a maximum message length, and choose whether to enable monthly recurring tips.
- Customize the page’s theme and appearance. Available options documented by Streamlabs include background, font, logo, and banner.
- Save your changes, then open the Tip Page URL to confirm the settings and presentation look right.
Dashboard labels and layout can change, so use the controls currently shown in your account. Streamlabs’ customization guide lists the available settings, but an option may depend on the connected account or current dashboard.
Share the link with viewers
Copy the Tip Page URL from the Tipping section and place it in a location viewers can reach while watching or visiting your channel. Streamlabs suggests:

- Facebook Page bio or About information and stream descriptions.
- Instagram or TikTok profile bios.
Use a clear label such as “Tip” or “Support the stream,” and check that the link opens the correct page while signed out. Avoid implying that a tip is required to watch or that it guarantees a particular response.
What happens to tips and payments
According to Streamlabs, PayPal processes payments directly; Streamlabs does not hold the funds. The Tip Page can support one-time and monthly recurring tips. PayPal may require a recipient to accept a payment manually. For payment disputes, chargebacks, or account issues, Streamlabs directs users to PayPal.

Some countries may be unable to send or receive PayPal payments. Check PayPal’s current eligibility and account terms for your location before promoting the page. The Streamlabs setup materials do not establish a universal fee schedule, so review the processor’s applicable fees and terms rather than assuming a particular rate.

Choose based on the payment types you want to offer, what account information you are comfortable associating with the page, and what PayPal supports in your country. Streamlabs’ guidance favors Business when broader payment options and viewer-facing privacy controls matter; check your own account details before deciding.

Troubleshoot common setup issues
- The account will not connect: Confirm that you are signed into the intended PayPal account and complete any authorization prompts. Check that the account and payment features are available in your country.
- The page does not show the changes: Save the settings, reopen the Tip Page URL, and check again. Confirm that you edited the page associated with the connected account.
- A viewer cannot pay: The payment method may not be supported for that viewer or recipient location, or PayPal may require an action from the recipient. Check PayPal’s account and country terms.
- You are concerned about personal details: Review the information visible on the connected PayPal account and the Tip Page before posting the link. Business accounts may offer more control, but do not assume that every personal detail is hidden.
- A payment is pending or disputed: Streamlabs says PayPal may require manual acceptance and handles the payment directly. Contact PayPal about payment status or chargebacks.
