To change a YouTube Premiere’s date or time, open the video in YouTube Studio and edit its schedule under Content > Edit > Visibility. To stop its scheduled public release, change the video’s visibility to Private and save. YouTube documents the scheduling workflow, but its Premiere help page does not describe a dedicated “cancel Premiere” command, so verify the saved visibility in Studio.
Reschedule a YouTube Premiere
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- In the left menu, select Content.
- Select the video whose Premiere you want to move.
- Choose Edit > Visibility.
- Open the schedule controls, choose the new date and time, then save or schedule the change. YouTube’s instructions may show EDIT DRAFT; make sure the video is set to Private while editing its scheduled publication, then choose the new time under Schedule.
This is YouTube’s documented method for changing a scheduled video’s publish time. The precise label can vary with the video’s state in Studio; if the wording differs, use the video’s visibility and scheduling controls. YouTube’s scheduled-publishing instructions cover the workflow.
Stop the scheduled public release
YouTube’s Premiere help does not provide a separate cancellation procedure. Its general scheduling instructions treat a scheduled video as private before publication and explain how to manage it through visibility settings. Based on that workflow, change the video’s visibility to Private and save to prevent its scheduled public release while keeping the upload. This is an inference from YouTube’s general scheduling guidance, not an explicit Premiere cancellation command.
- In Studio, open Content and select the scheduled Premiere video.
- Open Edit > Visibility and change the visibility to Private.
- Save, then return to the video in Studio and confirm it is no longer scheduled for public release.
Deleting the video is a separate, destructive action and is not necessary just to stop a scheduled Premiere. See YouTube’s scheduled video publishing guidance and its Premiere instructions.

Set up the Premiere again when you are ready
- Upload the video, or open its setup in YouTube Studio.
- Choose Schedule and enter the date and time.
- Select Set as Premiere.
- Configure countdown options if you want them, then choose Done or Schedule.
YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so viewers around the world have an opportunity to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. A scheduled Premiere has a public watch page where viewers can visit, set a reminder, comment, or chat. What changing the time means for viewers
A Premiere countdown starts at its scheduled time, after which viewers watch the video together in real time. When the Premiere ends, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload, and chat replay may be available.

YouTube’s official guidance confirms that the watch page and reminders are part of the Premiere experience, but does not establish whether changing the schedule preserves the page URL or existing reminders, or whether viewers receive a notification about the change. Don’t assume those details; check Studio and communicate the new time to your audience through a channel you control.
If YouTube has made the Premiere Private
A Community Guidelines strike can prevent a Premiere from publishing during the penalty period. YouTube says the Premiere is set to Private for that period, and the creator must reschedule after the freeze period ends. That platform restriction is different from manually cancelling a Premiere. Check the channel’s status and reschedule once the restriction has ended. YouTube’s Premiere help describes this exception.

Troubleshooting
- You can’t find the schedule controls: Open the video from Content, then check Edit > Visibility. Interface wording can vary by video state; look for the visibility and scheduled-time controls.
- The video still appears scheduled after you tried to stop it: Reopen it in Studio, set visibility to Private, save, and confirm the resulting status. Do not rely on an unsaved edit.
- The Premiere will not publish during a strike period: It may have been set to Private because of the Community Guidelines penalty. Wait until the freeze period ends, then reschedule.
- You’re unsure what viewers can still access after a time change: YouTube’s cited help pages do not settle whether the original URL or reminders persist. Verify the current watch page in Studio and tell viewers the new time rather than promising that existing reminders or links will work.
