IBM Video Streaming prices and included allowances
IBM describes Video Streaming as a hosted service for live broadcasts and on-demand video, with open or password-protected channels and embedded streams. Its current public pricing page lists these standard-plan starting prices; the page does not state a publication year for them.

What will the price be for an Indian customer?
The published plan amounts are in USD. They do not establish the currency IBM will charge at checkout in India, applicable taxes, or the final payable amount. IBM’s general Cloud billing information says some users in India are billed in INR by credit card, but that does not confirm how this separate Video Streaming subscription is billed. Check the currency and total shown at IBM checkout or ask IBM sales before committing; do not treat a currency conversion as an IBM India quote.

Does IBM Video Streaming support YouTube Live?
IBM’s product information describes live, simulated-live and on-demand streaming, embeds, APIs, monitoring and audience controls. The official IBM materials reviewed do not explicitly identify YouTube as a direct streaming destination or document the IBM-to-YouTube setup. That means direct YouTube Live support is not confirmed by those materials; it is not a basis for assuming that IBM cannot support some separately configured workflow. Ask IBM to confirm the exact route you need—direct streaming, encoder routing, embedding or simulstreaming—before purchasing.
What YouTube requires from a live-stream workflow
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, a secure extension to RTMP, and specifies supported protocols, codecs, frame rates, keyframes and bitrates. YouTube also recommends testing with representative audio and motion before going live and monitoring stream health. Its setup guidance says that enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours.

- Confirm which service or encoder sends the feed and whether it needs a YouTube stream key or RTMP server URL.
- Check upload capacity and stream health, and test the same kind of movement and audio you expect during the actual event.
- For multi-platform use, YouTube advises that each account be in good standing and that you have the relevant stream keys or server URLs for each destination.
These YouTube requirements do not establish that IBM has a direct YouTube destination integration. Confirm compatibility and configuration with IBM for your intended setup.
Do not confuse standard and Enterprise plans
IBM Enterprise Video Streaming is a separate plan family with separate pricing and additional enterprise features. IBM’s marketplace overview says accounts can be upgraded or downgraded only within their own family; a standard IBM Video Streaming account cannot be converted into an Enterprise account.

IBM also lists a 30-day trial for the Enterprise family. These are Enterprise prices, not standard-plan rates, and the same India-specific currency and tax uncertainty applies: confirm the actual checkout quote with IBM.
How to decide whether a plan fits
- Estimate monthly viewer-hour demand and compare it with the tier allowance rather than choosing by channel count alone.
- Check how many channels and how much storage your content library requires.
- Identify which listed features matter to your operation, such as HD transcoding, support, embed controls, branding or registration controls.
- Verify the India checkout currency, taxes and total, and get IBM to confirm the YouTube workflow in writing if YouTube Live is a purchase requirement.
