What you need for a continuous Sundarkand stream
A 24/7 broadcast is an operating goal, not a guarantee that YouTube or any encoder will never disconnect. Plan for monitoring, network interruptions, copyright checks, and how you will preserve a recording if the stream runs beyond YouTube’s automatic archive threshold.
- A YouTube channel eligible to live stream.
- A program feed: a live recitation, prerecorded recording, or a mixture.
- An encoder—software or standalone hardware—to send video and audio to YouTube.
- A stable internet connection with upload capacity above the stream’s total bitrate.
- Rights to use the recitation, recording, music, images, and footage in the intended territories.
YouTube’s encoder guide explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming and supports both software and hardware encoders: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Check channel access and rights before you prepare the feed
Confirm YouTube Live is enabled
YouTube’s current eligibility guidance says the person live streaming must be at least 16, the channel must be verified, and it must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast: Get started with live streaming and encoder setup guidance.

Clear the whole program, not just the devotional text
A traditional religious text does not automatically make a particular recording or production free to use. The text, a specific recitation recording, a performer’s rendition, backing music, artwork, and video footage can have different rights status. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. A license may not prevent an interruption if a rights owner uses Content ID; ask the owner whether your channel needs to be allowlisted before you go live. See Copyright issues with live streams.
YouTube’s livestream terms also place responsibility on the provider to hold the rights needed for worldwide exploitation, including music licensing rights: YouTube Terms of Service. Do not assume that permission for one country, platform, or format covers a worldwide YouTube livestream.

Set up the YouTube Live stream and encoder
- Choose the production format. Decide whether you will broadcast a live recitation, loop prerecorded material, or combine both. Confirm that your chosen encoder can supply the audio and video you intend to use.
- Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create a stream. YouTube’s encoder guide describes the setup flow and provides the stream connection details.
- Copy the stream URL and key into the encoder. Enter the server URL and stream key exactly as YouTube displays them. The key acts like a credential: do not publish it, share it, or show it on screen. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure the feed. Set the encoder’s output to a resolution and bitrate your connection can sustain. Ensure the total outbound bitrate stays within available upload bandwidth; YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom. The official Streaming tips explain the bandwidth guidance.
- Preview before going public. Check the Live Control Room preview, listen for clean and continuous audio, inspect the image, and confirm playback from the channel’s watch page and a mobile device. Correct any mismatch before relying on the stream.
- Start the encoder and monitor the broadcast. Confirm YouTube receives the feed and that viewers can hear and see it. Keep someone responsible for responding to network, encoder, or rights alerts.
Choose a workable 24/7 operating approach
Software or hardware encoder
YouTube supports both software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Software may be sufficient for a straightforward setup and avoids buying a dedicated encoder; hardware can suit a production that uses external audio or video equipment. YouTube does not require a camera, microphone, or other production hardware if your program feed does not need them. Actual requirements depend on the chosen production and encoder.
One long broadcast or shorter sessions
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its help page does not promise automatic archiving for streams lasting 12 hours or longer. If retaining the complete path matters, arrange a local recording or plan shorter broadcasts instead of assuming one long stream will become a complete archive. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

Live recitation or prerecorded loop
A live performance and a loop of a recording both remain subject to rights checks. A prerecorded devotional recording is not exempt from Content ID or other third-party claims. For either format, clear the specific recording and accompanying material before broadcast, and keep a response plan if YouTube flags something.
Monitor the stream and handle interruptions
- Audio or video drops: check the encoder output and connection, then verify the Live Control Room preview and watch page. Compare total bitrate with available upload bandwidth and preserve the recommended 20% headroom.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: check that the encoder uses the correct stream URL and current key, and that the stream has been created in YouTube Studio. Reset the key if it may have been exposed, then replace the encoder’s saved key.
- A copyright warning appears: stop or replace the flagged material and resolve the rights issue. An unresolved match can interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have a license, ask the rights owner whether Content ID allowlisting is required for your channel.
- The broadcast disconnects: check the network and encoder, restore the feed, and verify playback again on the watch page. Treat automatic recovery as a feature to confirm for the service or encoder you choose, not as a guarantee that interruptions cannot happen.
- You need a complete archive: do not count on YouTube’s documented automatic archive for a broadcast of 12 hours or more. Keep a local recording or split the program into shorter streams if an archive is essential.

Monetization is channel-dependent
YouTube says eligible creators may monetize livestreams with ads and Super Chat, and some channels have memberships. Availability depends on the channel’s eligibility and settings; check your own YouTube Studio rather than assuming these options will be available for a particular Sundarkand stream.
