You can run a Hindi devotional music stream on YouTube with FFmpeg by sending a continuous audio-and-video feed to YouTube’s live ingest endpoint. The encoder command depends on your files and FFmpeg build, so test the complete playlist and stream before relying on it. You also need permission for every recording, composition and visual you broadcast: YouTube scans live streams for copyrighted material and can interrupt them.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- An installed FFmpeg build that supports the input formats and output codecs you plan to use.
- Hindi devotional recordings and visuals you have the necessary rights to use for a continuous live broadcast.
- A computer or other host that can run FFmpeg and maintain an internet connection, plus a way to monitor and restart it if needed.
YouTube treats a live stream feed and a broadcast event as separate resources. Its Live Streaming API documentation describes a continuous 24/7 feed that can continue while separate events are started and completed; this is a supported broadcast pattern, not a guarantee that your encoder, connection or channel will stay online. Clear the music and visuals for broadcast
Before configuring FFmpeg, confirm rights for each sound recording, the underlying composition and lyrics, and every visual element. A devotional subject, traditional melody, downloaded track or recording already available on YouTube does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it.
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can cause a placeholder image, warning, interruption or termination. Even licensed third-party music can be interrupted unless the rightsholder adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. If you archive the live stream, Content ID claims can be made after the stream ends. Read YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and obtain rights information from the relevant rightsholder for your catalog and territories.

Enable live streaming and get the ingest details
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast you intend to test. Live availability and interface details can vary by channel status and YouTube’s current product rules.
- Copy the current server URL and stream key shown for that broadcast. Use the ingest information YouTube provides rather than assuming a fixed endpoint. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, commit it to a public script or share it with someone who should not control your stream.
- Keep the feed and event relationship clear. In YouTube’s model, a broadcast is associated with a stream feed. A continuous feed can support separate broadcast events, but this separation does not automatically create a playlist or guarantee uninterrupted operation.
For secure ingest, YouTube recommends RTMPS for most ordinary user content, especially when low latency matters. The RTMPS connection uses TLS, port 443, a valid endpoint and path, and the server hostname for SNI authentication. Use the RTMPS URL supplied for your setup and see Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide for the connection requirements.
Choose FFmpeg output settings that YouTube accepts
YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265 (HEVC) or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); frame rates up to 60 fps; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. For stereo audio, it lists 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps as recommended advanced settings. These are platform recommendations, not a promise that every FFmpeg build supports every codec or that every combination suits your source.

Choose resolution and frame rate based on the material you are actually sending. A still image paired with music does not need a high-motion frame rate, but it still needs a valid continuous audio/video output if you are sending video to YouTube. Match the bitrate to YouTube’s current recommendation for your selected resolution, frame rate and codec; leave upload-capacity headroom and verify the result in the Live Control Room. Avoid relying on a single fixed bitrate from an old command or tutorial.
Check the FFmpeg build installed on your host for the encoders and input formats available to it, then consult documentation for that exact FFmpeg version for input looping and playlist behavior. There is no universal command that can be safely prescribed without knowing the media format, playlist, codecs and build. In particular, do not assume playlist joins are gapless or that FFmpeg reconnects and recovers automatically.

When you assemble the command for your setup, use YouTube’s current ingest URL, the private stream key, compatible audio/video codecs, CBR and the recommended keyframe interval. Keep the stream key in a private configuration or environment variable rather than embedding it in a command you might share. For exact codec and bitrate tables, consult YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Loop the playlist and test the full broadcast
- Verify every source first. Confirm each file plays, has the audio and visuals you expect, and can be read by your installed FFmpeg build. Check the full playlist rather than just its first track.
- Configure looping using the documentation for your FFmpeg version. Input options and playlist handling depend on how the media is supplied. Test transitions; do not promise gapless playback unless you have verified it with your own files.
- Start a private or unlisted test broadcast if available. Send representative audio and video to YouTube and check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health messages.
- Listen through at least one source transition and inspect the picture. Confirm that audio continues, the image does not freeze unexpectedly, and YouTube reports a healthy incoming feed.
- Only schedule or promote the public stream after the test succeeds. Keep the encoder, host, network and YouTube stream-health view under observation when you begin operating continuously.
YouTube recommends testing with representative audio and video and monitoring stream health. A successful preflight does not establish that a local process or network will stay up indefinitely.

Plan for interruptions and recovery
A single FFmpeg process is not, by itself, a recovery plan. Decide who will notice a failure, how they will inspect the encoder and YouTube diagnostics, and how they will restart the process or investigate the cause. Watch for host shutdowns, network loss, encoder errors, ingest-health warnings and copyright alerts. If the feed is interrupted, check both the FFmpeg output and YouTube Studio before restarting so you do not mistake a rights restriction or incorrect ingest configuration for a local encoder problem.
A dedicated computer or remote host may be convenient if you do not want to use your everyday machine, but YouTube’s encoder guidance does not establish a minimum PC specification or require a particular hosting arrangement. Choose based on the workload and your monitoring and recovery plan rather than assuming a certain mini PC or VPS guarantees continuity.
