Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo build a continuous Indian classical music stream, first confirm that your recordings are cleared for live worldwide distribution, then place compatible files in an ordered FFmpeg concat list and send the output to YouTube Live over RTMPS. Use FFmpeg’s concat demuxer when every input has matching stream layouts, codecs and time bases; if they need to be normalized, use the concat filter and re-encode. A concat list alone does not make a stream reliable for 24/7 operation: test the full path and plan for process, network, file and YouTube interruptions.
Before you build: clear the recordings and define the stream
Make an inventory of the exact recordings you plan to play. A public-domain composition does not automatically make a modern performance recording free to stream. You are responsible for the necessary rights for worldwide live use, including the relevant music rights. Record the license, territories, term, permission for live streaming, permission for any archive or video-on-demand copy, and any confirmation that the rights holder has allowlisted your channel.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can interrupt or terminate a broadcast, and even licensed material may be interrupted unless the rights holder has allowlisted the channel. Archived streams can also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and its livestream terms and conditions before going live.
Creator Music is not a shortcut for this project: YouTube describes its licensing and revenue-share uses as applying to long-form videos, not live streams. See Creator Music usage details.

Choose the right FFmpeg concat method
| Method | Use it when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Concat demuxer | The files expose the same streams, codecs and time bases, and their durations are reliable enough for sequential packet copying. | Can avoid re-encoding, but mismatched inputs or incorrect duration metadata can cause timestamp gaps or artifacts. |
| Concat filter | Inputs need conversion to a common stream layout or encoding. | Requires re-encoding, so you must choose and test output codecs and settings. |
The concat demuxer reads files in order and adjusts timestamps so each follows the previous one. It expects matching stream structures, codecs and time bases. FFmpeg also warns that inaccurate duration metadata can cause artifacts; a duration directive in the list can override a stored duration when you know the correct value. Read the FFmpeg concat demuxer documentation. If inputs need re-encoding to become compatible, FFmpeg’s concatenation FAQ recommends the concat filter.
Do not assume a single command will work for arbitrary recordings. Inspect the actual media streams and durations first, then choose the method. If you normalize files in advance, use a consistent audio format and stream layout for the demuxer workflow.

Prepare an ordered concat list
- Inspect every file. Confirm the audio stream, codec, sample rate, channel layout, time base and reported duration. Remove files that are corrupt or have unexpected streams, or convert them to a common format before concatenation.
- Arrange the playlist. Create a plain-text list in the exact play order. For the demuxer, the basic form is
file 'path/to/first-file.ext'on one line andfile 'path/to/second-file.ext'on the next, with onefiledirective per recording. Use paths accessible to the FFmpeg process. - Correct duration metadata when needed. If a file’s stored duration is wrong and you know its correct duration, the concat demuxer supports a
durationdirective for that entry. Incorrect timing can affect the timestamps of later files. - Run a short local check. Play or inspect transitions, especially where recordings have different lengths, and listen for gaps, overlap, truncation or clicks. Do not begin an announced continuous broadcast until the actual list has passed a representative test.
When compatible inputs can be packet-copied, the demuxer avoids the need to re-encode the source streams. If that compatibility test fails, normalize the files with the concat filter workflow instead; do not try to solve incompatible streams by assuming a different output flag will make the demuxer accept them.
Configure the YouTube Live output
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a live stream and copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder configuration. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, put it in a public script repository, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. YouTube’s setup guide is Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Choose a supported transport and codecs. YouTube’s current encoder guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS transport, H.264, H.265 or AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio. Prefer RTMPS for encrypted transport.
- Set rate control and keyframes. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Its published advanced stereo audio settings include 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps.
- Choose resolution and bitrate together. Use YouTube’s current resolution and bitrate table for the selected output, and confirm that your actual upload connection can sustain it. There is no universal bitrate that is right for every resolution, frame rate or network. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.
- Test the complete path. Send representative music and the intended visual content to a test stream or preview. Confirm the Live Control Room preview and stream-health messages before promoting the broadcast.
The audio is central to a classical music stream, but the video output still matters to the encoder. Test with the same kind of visual content and movement you intend to use during the actual broadcast, not only a silent or radically different test scene.

Make continuous operation recoverable
The concat list defines sequence, not uptime. A process can exit, a machine can lose power, a network connection can fail, an input can be unreadable, or YouTube can interrupt the feed. Decide who or what will detect each failure, how it will be restarted, and how you will verify that the stream is back in the Live Control Room. Test recovery deliberately before relying on it.
- FFmpeg exits: arrange a monitored restart process appropriate to your operating system and FFmpeg build, and check that it resumes the intended playlist rather than silently stopping.
- Network fails: monitor upload connectivity and stream health; after service returns, verify the encoder has reconnected and that YouTube is receiving the feed.
- Input file fails: validate the entire playlist before launch and keep a way to identify the bad entry without losing the rest of the schedule.
- YouTube interrupts the stream: check the Live Control Room warning and copyright status, then address the cause rather than repeatedly reconnecting into an unresolved rights match.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived in its encoder setup guidance. That is not a guarantee that one broadcast can run indefinitely or that a continuous stream will produce one uninterrupted archive. If archives matter, verify the current workflow for your planned session length and schedule.

Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely issue | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Demuxer rejects a file or output has missing streams | The files do not have matching stream layouts, codecs or time bases. | Inspect the inputs and either make them compatible or use the concat filter with re-encoding. |
| Gap, overlap or artifact at a transition | Incorrect duration metadata or different stream lengths may have shifted timestamps unexpectedly. | Check the reported durations and the concat demuxer’s timing; use a known-good duration directive where appropriate and test the transition again. |
| YouTube preview does not appear or stream health warns | Incorrect server URL or stream key, unsupported output settings, or insufficient upload capacity. | Recheck the Control Room values, supported codecs, CBR/keyframe settings and the bitrate against your connection. |
| Live feed is interrupted after matching content | A third-party copyright match may have triggered a block or interruption. | Review the copyright warning and confirm that the exact recording is cleared for worldwide live use; obtain channel allowlisting from the rights holder if required. |
| Broadcast stops unexpectedly | Encoder process, computer, power or network may have failed, or YouTube may have interrupted delivery. | Identify which part stopped, restore it, and confirm both encoder output and YouTube stream health before considering the service live again. |
