To keep a YouTube broadcast running while one Punjabi music video repeats, add the local file to an OBS Media Source and enable Loop. For several videos, use an OBS VLC Video source, add the files to its playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. These settings repeat the media inside your running OBS production; they do not restart the broadcast.
Loop one video in OBS
- In OBS, select the scene that supplies the video to your live output.
- In the Sources dock, click + and choose Media Source. Create a new source or select an existing one.
- In the source properties, select the local video file you have the rights to stream.
- Enable Loop, then confirm the properties. OBS describes this setting as replaying the file when playback completes. OBS Media Sources
- Start or continue the OBS broadcast. When the file reaches its end, the source starts it again while the broadcast remains active.
OBS lists support for local video formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM. Check that your file plays in the scene before going live. OBS Media Sources
Check what happens when the source is hidden
If you switch scenes or hide the source, review its playback behavior. OBS documents Restart playback when source becomes active and Close file when inactive. Closing the file while inactive can mean a short delay when it has to reload after becoming visible again. For predictable playback, keep the source visible in the scene being sent live. OBS Media Sources
Loop a playlist of Punjabi videos
For multiple local files, use VLC Video rather than adding a separate Media Source for each file. OBS requires VLC for this source type; with 64-bit OBS, install matching 64-bit VLC.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Install VLC if it is not already installed, then open OBS.
- In the live scene’s Sources dock, click + and choose VLC Video.
- Add the local video files to the source playlist in the order you want them to play.
- Enable Loop Playlist so playback starts over after the last file. Choose ordered playback or shuffle according to your intended sequence.
- Keep the source visible in the scene and verify that the playlist plays before going live.
The VLC source also has visibility and network-caching behavior. A local playlist kept visible in the live scene avoids unnecessary complications from hiding a source or relying on network media. OBS Media Sources
Which loop control should you use?
| What you want to repeat | Where to set it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| One local video in the OBS broadcast | OBS Media Source: Loop | Replays that file after it finishes. |
| A list of local videos in the OBS broadcast | OBS VLC Video: Loop Playlist | Restarts the playlist when it runs out of files. |
| A YouTube video or playlist while watching | YouTube watch screen: Loop | Repeats playback for the viewer; it does not loop a local source in your OBS broadcast. YouTube Help: Loop videos or playlists on YouTube |
What “without restarting the stream” does—and does not—mean
OBS’s loop controls govern media playback within a scene, not the connection between OBS and YouTube. They handle a video or playlist reaching its normal end. They do not promise that the broadcast will continue if OBS loses its network connection, stops sending data, or YouTube ends the live broadcast. OBS describes sources as components of a scene; YouTube’s encoder setup is a separate part of going live. OBS Sources Guide YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming

Make sure you have rights to stream the music videos
The Punjabi language or music genre does not change the copyright rules. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; continued content may lead to interruption or termination. YouTube also says that even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
YouTube’s livestream terms say the person providing the live content represents that they have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. A public YouTube upload, attribution, or a local copy of a video does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it. Stream only material your channel is authorized to use, and coordinate any required Content ID allowlisting with the rights owner. YouTube livestream terms and conditions

Troubleshoot a video that will not repeat
- The file stops after one play: Open the Media Source properties and check that Loop is enabled. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist on the VLC Video source instead.
- VLC Video is missing from the source menu: Install VLC. OBS specifies matching 64-bit VLC for 64-bit OBS. OBS Media Sources
- The video pauses or starts over after a scene change: Check whether the source is being hidden and review its activation and inactive-file settings. Keeping the source visible in the live scene avoids reload behavior caused by closing it while inactive.
- The broadcast ends or viewers see an interruption: A media loop cannot repair a stopped encoder connection or a broadcast ended by YouTube. Check OBS’s connection and live status separately, and check whether YouTube has flagged third-party content.
- YouTube interrupts a licensed music video: Ask the rights owner to confirm that the channel has the necessary live-stream rights and, if required, is on the owner’s Content ID allowlist.
