You can use a Raspberry Pi 5 to send a Hindi music program to YouTube continuously, but the Pi is only one part of the setup: you also need music cleared for your intended broadcast, a visual, an encoder, reliable power and internet, and a plan for recovery and archives. YouTube documents the ingest settings and supports continuous streams, but the official sources do not establish a tested Pi 5-specific 24/7 looping recipe. The steps below separate documented YouTube settings from choices you must validate on your own Pi.
Plan the music, visual, and rights first
Choose the tracks and the on-screen visual before configuring the encoder. A static image or simple animation can accompany the music; this guide does not assume a camera production.
Confirm that your rights cover public live broadcasting of each track, the territories where viewers may watch, the intended duration, and monetization if you plan to monetize. Owning a recording or finding it online does not establish those permissions. Verify the license terms directly with the rights holder or catalog provider; no particular Hindi music catalog is established here as cleared for continuous YouTube streaming.
What you need for a Raspberry Pi 5 setup
- Raspberry Pi 5. Raspberry Pi lists RAM options from 1GB through 16GB, but the sources do not establish a minimum RAM requirement for this particular stream. Requirements depend on your software and whether it transcodes video or adds visual effects. Raspberry Pi 5 specifications.
- A quality 5V/5A USB-C power supply. Raspberry Pi recommends this supply for Pi 5. The board’s USB-C power requirement is distinct from the current available to peripherals.
- Boot and storage media, such as a microSD card, plus active cooling for sustained operation. Raspberry Pi says active cooling helps under heavy workloads; no temperature test for this streaming workload is established here.
- An internet connection. Pi 5 has Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi. For an unattended installation, wired Ethernet is a sensible choice where the router location allows; the cited specifications do not quantify streaming reliability for Ethernet versus Wi-Fi.
- A music source, a visual, encoder software configured for YouTube ingest, and a way to check whether the stream and audio remain healthy.
Raspberry Pi documentation gives the downstream USB current limits as up to 1.6A with a 5A supply and 600mA with a 3A supply. That matters if peripherals draw power from the Pi; do not treat the documented 800mA typical bare-board active current as a measurement of this streaming workload. See Raspberry Pi hardware documentation.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up a YouTube live event and protect the stream key
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the live stream.
- Copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming destination fields. YouTube requires the encoder to send to its server URL using the stream key.
- Keep the key private. Do not place it in a public script, repository, screenshot, or video description. Anyone with access to the key may be able to send a stream to your event.
- If this is your first time enabling live streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation, as YouTube notes that first-time activation can take that long.
- Run a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Confirm that the video appears, the visual is correct, and the music is audible before making the event public.
See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance for current Live Control Room instructions and ingest details.
Choose encoder settings and test the connection
YouTube’s published encoder guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS, H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR). YouTube recommends RTMPS as the secure transport. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For stereo audio, its recommendation is 128 Kbps at 44.1 kHz.

| Output choice | YouTube H.264 recommended video bitrate | When it may suit a static-visual music stream |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 4 Mbps | A reasonable documented starting point when modest image detail and lower upload demand are priorities. |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | Choose it when the visual benefits from more detail and your connection can sustain the higher bitrate. |
The values are YouTube Help’s recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular Pi, encoder build, or internet connection will run reliably. A static-image music stream generally has little reason to use a high frame rate; 30 fps is a practical starting point from the documented options.
- Use CBR and set the keyframe interval to two seconds, without exceeding four seconds.
- Choose an output bitrate your upload connection can sustain with margin. Test from the location and network you will use for the live stream; a speed test alone does not establish stable performance over a long broadcast.
- Test with audio and movement similar to the actual program, then monitor YouTube’s stream health while live.
- Do not rely on a copy-and-paste FFmpeg or GStreamer command as a verified Pi 5 recipe: the cited sources do not validate a particular command, audio-loop method, operating system, encoder build, or watchdog service for this use.
See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance for the current recommendations.

Make the stream resilient and plan for archives
A continuous stream depends on more than the Pi: power, network, the music source, the encoder process, and YouTube’s service and account state can all interrupt it. Keep the Pi in a ventilated location, use dependable power, and monitor the stream health and audio. The sources here do not establish a specific restart service or promise zero downtime, so validate any automatic restart or recovery arrangement with your operating system and encoder before relying on it.
YouTube documents 24/7 continuous streams, but only streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one uninterrupted stream will produce a complete automatic archive of a longer broadcast. Decide how you will end or otherwise handle the stream if you need archived segments, and verify YouTube’s current behavior for the event format you use.
