YouTube does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation: copyright matches can interrupt a broadcast, and the available platform guidance does not establish a bitrate, computer specification, or redundancy plan for this particular stream.
What do you need before you go live?
Plan for four things: a YouTube channel that is eligible to stream, bell and rain audio you are entitled to broadcast, a visual and audio loop, and a way to send that loop to YouTube. An encoder is the fitting YouTube broadcast method when you need a designed visual or overlays and control over hardware and audio/video inputs.
Check channel eligibility
- YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction during the preceding 90 days. Its current help page, retrieved October 3, 2026, also says the person live streaming must be at least 16 years old.
- YouTube’s stated limits are up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key. If you are already broadcasting elsewhere on the channel or sharing a key, account for those limits.
- Allow time to enable live streaming. Google’s Live Streaming Guide, published approximately 2024, advises enabling it at least 24 hours before an event. Treat that as legacy checklist guidance and check your channel’s current behavior rather than assuming every account has the same activation delay.
Choose your loop and production approach
For a do-it-yourself encoder setup, prepare a video file or visual scene that can repeat alongside the audio, then send it from a computer running an encoder. This gives you control over the visual design, overlays, and inputs, but the computer, encoder, and network connection become part of the broadcast chain. YouTube’s guidance identifies encoder streaming as suited to overlays and hardware; it does not prescribe an app, operating system, resolution, bitrate, keyframe interval, server architecture, or redundancy arrangement for this specific use case.
A dedicated computer is optional enabling hardware, not a proven minimum requirement. Choose hardware only after checking compatibility with the encoder you select and the actual video-encoding workload. Consider power draw, storage, and network connectivity; no particular model or minimum CPU, GPU, or memory specification is established here.

Can you stream bell and rain audio without a copyright interruption?
Only use recordings you made yourself or have permission to use for the specific use you intend. A recording being devotional, ambient, or freely available online does not establish that you may rebroadcast it. Rights can differ for the sound recording and the underlying composition or performance, so keep documentation showing what you have permission to use.
Get permission for the whole use
Before building the loop, confirm that the rights cover live broadcasting on YouTube, the territories where viewers may watch, retaining an archive if you plan to keep one, and monetization if you intend to enable it. Save the license or written permission and any conditions. If a label, distributor, or other rights administrator controls the recording, coordinate with that party; YouTube for Artists gives this advice for copyright-protected music, and it applies to bell recordings only where that kind of rights-holder relationship fits.

Understand Content ID risk
YouTube Help says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If YouTube detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; leaving the matched material in place can lead to interruption or termination. Having a license does not always prevent an automated interruption: the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Resolve allowlisting with the rights owner where needed, and do not treat a license as a guarantee that the live scan will not interrupt the stream.
How do you build and launch the stream?
- Assemble a rights-cleared loop. Put together the bell and rain material you are authorized to use, plus a visual that can run continuously. Decide whether YouTube’s archive should remain available and ensure your permission covers that choice.
- Set up the encoder. Configure the chosen encoder to play the loop and send its audio and video to YouTube. Use the encoder’s own current documentation for its controls. No reliable bitrate, resolution, keyframe, or other encoder value for this particular 24/7 stream is established by the cited platform guidance, so do not treat a guessed preset as an official requirement.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube’s live controls. Choose the encoder broadcast route, then copy the stream key into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, put it in a public screenshot, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If you believe it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube’s live controls and update the encoder with the new key.
- Keep the broadcast private for rehearsal. Start the complete setup as a private stream. Check that the image, sound, looping behavior, and connection all work together before you schedule or announce the public broadcast.
- Schedule and prepare moderation. Once the private test is satisfactory, schedule the public stream. Decide whether to enable live chat and comments, who will moderate them, or whether to turn them off. Google’s checklist recommends testing the complete setup privately, comparing internet connections, scheduling the broadcast, and making a plan for chat and comments.
- Make it public only after checking the live preview. Confirm the correct stream is going to the intended channel and that the preview is displaying the intended bell-and-rain loop before changing its visibility or sharing the link.
What should you test before making it public?
Use a private rehearsal of the complete path, not just a test of the video file. Google’s Live Streaming Guide recommends a private test of the whole stream setup, including the internet connection. A successful rehearsal shows that the components worked together during that test; it does not certify continuous operation or guarantee that a later copyright scan will pass.

- Verify your stream key is entered correctly and has not been exposed. Keep a safe recovery plan for replacing it if necessary.
- Confirm the rights paperwork and any required Content ID allowlisting before the public launch, rather than waiting for an interruption.
- Set the chat and comment plan before scheduling: assign moderation responsibility or disable those features.
What can go wrong, and how should you respond?
| Symptom | Possible cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not let the channel start a live stream | The channel is not verified, has a live-stream restriction within the preceding 90 days, or live streaming has not finished enabling. | Check the channel’s verification and live-stream status in YouTube, and allow for the activation delay described in Google’s legacy checklist. |
| The encoder does not connect to the intended broadcast | The key may be wrong, outdated, exposed and replaced, or associated with another broadcast. | Compare the encoder destination with the key for the intended YouTube broadcast. Replace an exposed key in YouTube’s live controls and update the encoder. Keep YouTube’s stated limit of 3 active streams per key in mind. |
| The stream is replaced, interrupted, or terminated after starting | YouTube may have detected third-party content in the live feed. | Remove the matched material, check which recording was involved, and contact the relevant rights owner about permission and any required Content ID allowlisting before restarting. |
| The rehearsal fails or behaves inconsistently | The failure may be in the file/loop, encoder setup, or internet connection; a successful file preview alone does not test the complete path. | Repeat a private test with the entire setup running. Check the visual and audio loop, the encoder’s current documentation, the stream destination, and the connection being used. |
| The public stream runs but chat becomes difficult to manage | No moderation plan was set before viewers arrived. | Use the moderation plan chosen before scheduling, or disable chat and comments if you cannot supervise them. |
Can a 24/7 stream earn money?
YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible live-stream revenue mechanisms. Availability depends on channel eligibility and the features available to that channel, so check the current controls and eligibility in YouTube Studio. YouTube does not guarantee that ad slots will be served; an always-on schedule is not a promise of monetization or a particular income.
