To connect Patreon to Streamlabs, link your Patreon account through Streamlabs Dashboard, Streamlabs Desktop, or the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS, then choose Patreon as the destination when you go live. You can set which membership tiers are allowed to watch. Patreon’s Streamlabs integration is for broadcasting to Patreon; it is separate from setting up Patreon alerts.
Choose where to connect Patreon
Use whichever route fits the software you already have open. Patreon says a successful connection makes Patreon available as a destination in Streamlabs Desktop and the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS. Patreon’s Streamlabs guide was updated June 18, 2026.
From Streamlabs Dashboard
- Sign in to Streamlabs Dashboard.
- Open the profile menu and choose Account Settings.
- Open Platforms and find Patreon.
- Select Merge beside Patreon, then authorize the Patreon account when prompted.
From Streamlabs Desktop
- Open Streamlabs Desktop and select Stream Settings in the bottom-left navigation.
- Find Patreon in the destination list and select Connect.
- Authorize Patreon. The app redirects back after the connection is complete.
From the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS
- In OBS, click Start Streaming to open the Streamlabs Plugin window.
- Turn on Patreon in the destinations list.
- Authorize your Patreon account when redirected.
Start a live stream on Patreon
- In Streamlabs’ Go Live or destination controls, select Patreon.
- Enter the live title and description.
- Choose the audience: you can select a membership tier or a combination of tiers.
- Review the stream details and confirm to go live.
Streamlabs also describes an option to make a replay available after the stream ends. Check the live settings before confirming if you want to use it.
Check Patreon eligibility and prepare your setup
Patreon’s Live materials list a published page, a page marked Safe for All Audiences, and good standing among the eligibility criteria. They state that Adult/18+ pages are not yet eligible. You need a Patreon creator account, Streamlabs Desktop or the OBS Plugin, and a stable internet connection. A webcam, microphone, and overlays may be useful for your broadcast, but they are not prerequisites for linking accounts; built-in camera and audio devices may be enough. Patreon’s equipment checklist is included in its Streamlabs guide.
Know the integration limits
- Multistreaming: Broadcasting to Patreon and other platforms at once requires Streamlabs Ultra, according to Patreon Help Center: “Multistreaming requires a Streamlabs Ultra subscription.”
- Chat: Patreon chat is not currently supported within Streamlabs Desktop. If you multistream and need chat visible, choose another platform as the primary chat.
- Alerts are separate: You do not need to add an Alert Box to connect Patreon as a live destination. Streamlabs has separate instructions for configuring Patreon alerts, including adding the widget to Streamlabs Desktop, the Streamlabs Plugin for OBS, or another streaming app as a browser source. Troubleshoot connection and go-live problems
- Patreon is missing from the destination list: Complete the connection from Dashboard, Desktop, or the OBS Plugin, then check the destination list again. If authorization did not finish, repeat the connection and approve the Patreon prompt.
- The Patreon authorization does not return to Streamlabs: Complete the authorization flow in the browser window opened by Streamlabs. Then return to the app and check whether Patreon appears as a destination.
- You cannot start a Patreon live: Confirm your Patreon page meets the eligibility criteria in Patreon’s Live FAQ, including being published, Safe for All Audiences, and in good standing.
- You expect Patreon chat in Streamlabs Desktop: Patreon chat is not currently supported there. For a multistream, set another destination as primary chat if you need chat displayed.
- You only need Patreon alerts: Configure the separate Streamlabs Alert Box widget rather than treating alerts as part of the live-destination connection.
