You can mix short cartoons and full-length episodes in a YouTube playlist by adding the videos, setting an accurate title and description, and dragging them into the viewing order you want. That creates an on-demand sequence viewers can start when they choose; it does not make the playlist a continuously broadcasting live channel. If you mean a live 24/7 broadcast, that is a separate production setup.
First decide what “24/7” means
A playlist can be available for viewers to play at any time, but viewers control when they start and navigate it. A continuous livestream instead presents a live broadcast experience and needs a separate live setup and operation. YouTube’s guidance describes livestream workflows, but does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation.

How do I make a YouTube cartoon playlist?
- Create the playlist. On a computer, open YouTube and create a playlist, then add the cartoon videos you want included. YouTube Help’s playlist guidance covers creating and managing playlists.
- Set its title, description, and privacy. Make the title and description accurately explain what is in the collection, and choose the privacy setting that matches who should be able to find or view it. You can edit playlist details and settings using YouTube’s playlist editing guidance.
- Put episodes in the intended order. Drag videos into position in the playlist. This is the direct way to mix brief cartoons with longer episodes in a deliberate sequence. YouTube does not prescribe a short-to-long ratio or a required cadence; choose an order that suits the show and its viewers.
- Check the playlist as a viewer. Open it and confirm the episodes appear in the expected order and that the title and description set accurate expectations.
Can I mix Shorts and full episodes?
You can organize cartoon videos of different lengths in one playlist and manually order them. If by “Shorts” you mean short-form videos rather than simply short episodes, the cited YouTube playlist guidance does not establish a special ordering rule or guarantee that every format will appear identically in every interface. Add the eligible videos available to your channel, then check the playlist in YouTube as a viewer.
Choose an order for the viewing experience
- Alternate lengths if you want a quick cartoon between longer episodes.
- Group by series or theme if continuity or topic matters more than length.
- Put sequential episodes in order when viewers are meant to follow a story.
These are programming choices, not YouTube requirements or claims about recommendation performance.

Should you use YouTube Studio Shows?
If the videos are episodes of a series and you want a show presentation with episode numbering, YouTube Studio’s Shows feature may be useful. YouTube describes serial shows for episodes intended to be watched in sequence and non-serial shows for episodes that can be watched in any order. For a serial show, episodes are listed oldest to newest; when a playlist is converted, its manually set order affects assigned episode numbers. What if you mean a continuous live cartoon channel?
A playlist alone is not a livestream. YouTube’s live workflow supports mobile, webcam, and encoder methods. For an always-running prerecorded-video broadcast, an encoder-based workflow is the relevant DIY route; it requires a separate live setup and active operations. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder in advance, checking preview and accessibility, testing failover, and monitoring audio and video. These practices do not establish that any particular setup will remain live without interruption.

Check live eligibility and rights first
- YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel and no livestream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Confirm eligibility in YouTube Studio before planning a broadcast. See YouTube’s live streaming guidance.
- Use cartoons only when you have the appropriate rights to stream them. The available platform guidance does not determine ownership or licensing for any specific cartoon.
- Review YouTube’s Playlists policy: playlist titles and descriptions must not mislead viewers, and a collection may violate policy based on how its videos are grouped. Follow applicable platform rules for the videos and broadcast as well.
