If your YouTube live stream keeps reconnecting on Excitel broadband, first determine whether the failure is in the encoder, your local network, or the connection between your router and YouTube. Connect the encoder to the router by Ethernet, log the exact interruption times, compare YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages with encoder logs, and measure sustained upload. The title alone cannot establish a fault on a particular Excitel line: the cause depends on your location, equipment, stream settings, and connection measurements.
What to check first when a stream reconnects
Use timestamps to correlate what the encoder, YouTube, and your network were doing at the moment of each interruption. Keep a simple log with the date and time (including your time zone), whether the encoder said it disconnected or restarted, YouTube Live Control Room’s health messages, router or ONT status lights, and whether other devices lost internet at the same time. Save encoder logs and, if available, a local recording. This evidence helps separate a local encoder restart from a WAN interruption; by itself, it does not prove an Excitel fault.
For a controlled test, connect the streaming computer to the router by Ethernet if possible, and temporarily pause large uploads, cloud backups, and other heavy household internet use. YouTube warns that shared network use can reduce the bandwidth available to an individual stream and that a connectivity disruption can break a live stream (YouTube Help: Streaming tips). A Cat6 cable can remove Wi-Fi as a variable on the local link, but it cannot fix an upstream provider outage or congestion.
Check sustained upload against the stream bitrate
A headline download speed or advertised plan rate does not establish that your encoder has enough stable outbound capacity. Measure upload over Ethernet at several times, ideally including a period when the stream is running. Compare the available upload with the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate and leave headroom. YouTube recommends 20% upload headroom and says to account for the primary and backup streams where applicable (YouTube Help: Streaming tips).

For example, a stream configured at 5 Mbps needs more than 5 Mbps of consistently available upload to preserve that recommended margin. The measurement must represent sustained upload available to the stream, not a download-only result or a single short speed test. Other devices and uploads can consume capacity while a test is running.
No particular minimum Excitel plan or upload fault can be identified without your address, plan, wired measurements, and stream bitrate. If the wired connection repeatedly loses outbound service while the encoder remains healthy, preserve the test times and results for Excitel support.

Verify the encoder settings YouTube expects
Match bitrate to codec, resolution, and frame rate
Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for the codec, resolution, and frame rate you actually selected. For H.264 RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube recommends 5 Mbps at 1080p30 and 6 Mbps at 720p60; these are examples, not universal settings. Other configurations have different recommendations, and the selected bitrate must also fit your real, sustained upload with headroom (YouTube encoder guidance).
Use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval
For RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and keyframes every two seconds, with an interval no longer than four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS as the encrypted option. In your encoder, check the output format, codec, frame rate, bitrate mode, and keyframe setting against YouTube’s guidance for your stream (YouTube encoder guidance).

Read the exact error in Live Control Room rather than assuming every reconnection is an ISP problem. YouTube’s error guide identifies issues such as unsupported formats, incorrect bitrate, keyframe timing, and mismatched primary and backup settings (YouTube Help: Live stream errors).
Separate encoder trouble from an internet interruption
Check the encoder’s local preview or archive, CPU load, software status, and logs. If the local output also stutters or the encoder restarts, investigate the source capture, encoder configuration, software, and local machine before blaming the broadband connection. YouTube recommends checking encoder health and CPU load; if the encoder output looks healthy, test the outbound connection and contact the ISP when that test identifies a connectivity problem (YouTube Help: Streaming tips).

If the encoder stays healthy but YouTube reports a specific ingestion setting error, correct that setting first. Unsupported format, bitrate, keyframe, or primary/backup inconsistencies point to configuration rather than proving an Excitel line fault (YouTube Help: Live stream errors).

When wired tests and timestamps suggest the encoder is healthy but outbound connectivity drops, contact Excitel through its app, listed customer-care channel, or support email. Provide the registered account and service location, the disruption times, wired upload results, and whether the ONT or router indicated a loss of optical or WAN service. Ask support to check the line and ONT status, area outages, and repeated drops or packet loss during the logged periods. Keep the complaint reference for any follow-up.

Excitel’s published customer-care page states a target of 24 working business hours for network or technical issues and lists complaint routes. This is the provider’s stated target, not a guarantee of resolution or evidence that a particular connection is at fault (Excitel: Customer Care & Grievance Redressal). Its terms describe plan speeds as best effort and say performance can vary with network conditions, customer equipment, Wi-Fi coverage, and other technical factors; those terms do not diagnose an individual subscriber’s line (Excitel terms and conditions).
Plan continuity for a 24/7 broadcast
Test encoder failover
YouTube recommends preparing encoder events in advance and testing backup-encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable. Monitor audio and video continuously during the test (YouTube Help: Prepare your live stream). Match the backup feed’s settings to the primary where required: YouTube’s error guidance flags mismatches in bitrate, keyframe timing, frame rate, audio, and other stream settings (YouTube Help: Live stream errors).
A backup encoder covers some encoder failures; it does not restore an Excitel WAN connection that has gone down. A genuinely independent backup internet path requires its own checks for service availability at your address, sustained upload, automatic or manual failover, and how the stream recovers after switching. Availability and performance of any alternative provider are location-specific.
Consider power only when it matches the symptoms
A UPS may help if a local mains interruption is the cause and the encoder, router, and ONT remain powered for the required period. It will not keep Excitel’s upstream access network online during a provider-side line or power fault. Before replacing provider-supplied ONT equipment, confirm compatibility and support conditions in Excitel’s terms (Excitel terms and conditions).
