To connect your Extra Life fundraiser to a livestream, open your Extra Life page, go to Your Page → Settings, choose your streaming platform, enter the requested account detail, and save. For YouTube, Extra Life says to enter the full URL of the live video—not your channel username. The stream link on your fundraiser page and an optional graphic shown over the broadcast are separate things to set up.
Before you start: create or open your Extra Life page
You need an Extra Life participant or team fundraising page to receive donations. Your page gives viewers a Donate action and is the destination to share in your stream description, channel panel, or chat. Extra Life
Link your livestream to your Extra Life page
- Log in to Extra Life and open Your Page.
- Open Settings.
- Select your streaming platform and enter the identifier it requests.
- If you stream on YouTube, enter the full URL of the live video. Do not substitute your channel username.
- Save your changes. Extra Life says the linked live stream will then appear on your fundraising page. Extra Life Support Center
For YouTube, use the URL for the live video you want viewers to watch. If that URL changes for a later broadcast, update the page setting as needed; the documented instruction is to provide the live-video URL, not a persistent channel handle.
Optional: add a Twitch fundraising panel or thermometer
Extra Life’s Support Center article, modified January 8, 2021, describes the DonorDrive Charity Fundraising Twitch extension. It says to install the extension from Twitch’s Extensions area, configure the charity and fundraising-page URL, save, and activate it as a panel. Its overlay directions describe copying the Overlay with fundraising thermometer link from the extension’s overlay settings. The same article says the previous Extra Life Twitch extension is no longer available. Extra Life Support Center

Those labels and availability come from instructions last modified in 2021, so check Twitch’s current Extensions area and Creator Dashboard before relying on them. The extension panel or thermometer is an optional on-stream display; it is separate from linking a stream on your Extra Life page.
Make the donation destination clear to viewers
- Share your participant page URL in your stream description or channel panel.
- Tell viewers to open the page and select Donate.
- If you use a chat command, verify that it links to the correct participant page.
- For a team fundraiser, direct supporters to choose the member they want to support and donate on that member’s page. Individual donations also count toward the team’s shared goal. Extra Life
A simple callout works: “Support my Extra Life fundraiser at the link in the description.” Keep the Extra Life page as the donation destination rather than directing charity contributions to a personal payment app.
