You can make a YouTube playlist of lofi videos repeat continuously, but you cannot use playlist repeat to keep someone else’s live broadcast going after the broadcaster ends it. To listen without manually restarting playback, turn on playlist repeat for a playlist of videos. If the live stream itself ends, look for a replay on the channel; the channel may post one, but it is not guaranteed.
What playlist repeat can—and can’t—do
YouTube has separate controls for repeating a single video and repeating a whole playlist. Playlist repeat loops the videos in that playlist. A live stream, by contrast, is a real-time broadcast; turning on repeat does not stop the broadcaster from ending it or make the broadcast restart.
If a lofi stream ends, check the channel for a replay or highlights. YouTube says a channel may post them after a stream, and they appear as videos. If a replay is available, you can watch it as a video or add it to a playlist and repeat that playlist.
Loop a playlist on a computer
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist you want to hear.
- Expand the playlist beside the video player.
- Click Loop in the playlist box.
- Check that the control is set to repeat the playlist, not just the current video.
YouTube’s playlist instructions say the playlist will repeat continuously.

Loop a playlist on Android or iPhone and iPad
- Start playing the playlist.
- In the playlist control box beneath the video, tap the Loop icon to repeat the playlist.
- Check the icon: if it shows “1,” YouTube is set to repeat only the current video. Tap again to cycle the setting until the playlist is selected.
Loop a playlist on a TV or game console
- Select the playlist and start playback.
- Open the playback controls.
- Select Repeat until the control reads Repeat • Playlist.
Why a queue is not the same as a saved playlist
A queue is not a dependable substitute for a playlist you want to return to. On a computer, YouTube says the queue will not be saved after you close the browser. Save the videos to a playlist instead. You can also use Watch Later for videos you want to find again. Mobile queueing has its own requirements; it is not needed to repeat a saved playlist.
