You can run a continuous Hindi relaxation playlist on YouTube Live from an Ubuntu VPS, but first confirm that the channel is eligible, the music and visuals are cleared for your use, and the server can sustain the encoder’s outbound bitrate. YouTube’s official guidance covers channel eligibility, encoder settings, bandwidth planning and stream monitoring; it does not establish Ubuntu-specific FFmpeg commands, playlist-loop syntax, VPS sizing or process-supervision settings. This guide explains the verified setup decisions and what you must validate before putting a loop on air.
What you need before setting up the VPS
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream.
- An Ubuntu VPS with sustained outbound capacity appropriate to your chosen stream settings. No fixed VPS size or provider plan is established here.
- An encoder that can send a feed to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key provided in YouTube Studio.
- A playlist whose audio and visual material you are authorized to use for a YouTube livestream in the intended territories.
A VPS is a host for the encoder, not a guarantee of an uninterrupted stream. Reliability also depends on the server and network, the encoder process, and your plan for detecting and recovering from failures.
Check YouTube Live eligibility first
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Check access on the specific channel you intend to use before configuring the VPS; do not assume a new channel can livestream immediately. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
Choose stream settings for your connection
Pick a resolution and frame rate that the VPS can transmit reliably, then use YouTube’s current encoder settings table to select the corresponding bitrate. Avoid choosing a bitrate in isolation: YouTube’s recommendations differ by codec, resolution and frame rate, and the appropriate setting depends on the output you select.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Setting | YouTube guidance | What to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Video codec | H.264 is supported for RTMP/RTMPS encoder streams. | Confirm the encoder output uses a supported codec. |
| Rate control | Constant bitrate (CBR). | Configure CBR rather than a variable target rate. |
| Frame rate | Up to 60 fps. | Use a frame rate suitable for the material and the available sustained upload capacity. |
| Keyframe interval | Two seconds recommended; it must not exceed four seconds. | Set the encoder’s keyframe interval within that limit. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3 is listed for RTMP/RTMPS. | Choose a supported audio codec and ensure the finished stream sounds clean in preview. |
| Transport | YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. | Use the RTMPS ingest option when available in your encoder workflow. |
Consult YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the current bitrate table. A relaxation stream with still or slowly changing visuals may not need the same resolution or frame rate as fast-moving content; choose settings based on the actual video, the desired presentation and stable server upload capacity.
Create the YouTube encoder stream and protect its key
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a livestream and choose the encoder-based workflow.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into your encoder’s ingest settings.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube describes it as the address and password the encoder uses to send the feed; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
- Use the Live Control Room preview to confirm the incoming feed before making the stream public or relying on it for a continuous broadcast.
Use YouTube’s encoder setup guidance for the current Studio workflow and ingest details. Studio labels and available options can change.

Plan bandwidth and test from the VPS
YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload capacity beyond the total stream bitrate and testing outbound bandwidth. Apply that headroom to the configured stream bitrate, not just the video portion if your encoder’s total output includes audio and other overhead. A speed test is useful, but it does not by itself prove that the VPS can sustain the chosen rate continuously.
- Calculate the total configured stream bitrate from your selected YouTube settings.
- Check sustained outbound capacity from the VPS or its relevant network path, not only from a separate home connection.
- Leave at least YouTube’s recommended 20% capacity above the total stream bitrate.
- Send a representative test feed and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before depending on the setup.
See YouTube’s network, bandwidth and streaming advice. Do not infer a suitable instance size from a provider’s advertised port speed alone; the available evidence does not establish a particular VPS plan or its sustained performance.

Validate the Ubuntu loop and recovery behavior separately
The YouTube guidance establishes encoder ingest and stream requirements, but it does not specify commands for installing an encoder on Ubuntu, looping a playlist with FFmpeg, supervising a process with systemd, restarting after failure or reviewing service logs. Those details depend on the Ubuntu release, encoder version, input formats and chosen process supervisor. Verify the current documentation for each component before deploying commands, and test the exact configuration on the VPS rather than treating a successful YouTube preview as proof that the loop will recover unattended.
- Check that every playlist file is readable and that the loop behaves as intended at the transition between items.
- Test what happens when a media file ends, is missing or cannot be decoded.
- Test encoder and VPS interruptions, and establish how you will notice and recover from them.
- Keep access credentials, including the YouTube stream key, out of public logs and files.
- Monitor the YouTube stream health and the VPS process during a representative run.
YouTube advises testing representative audio and video, checking the Live Control Room preview and monitoring stream health. See its encoder troubleshooting guidance and stream health and monitoring guidance.

Clear the Hindi music and visuals before going live
Language and genre do not change copyright obligations. You need the necessary rights for every track and visual in the playlist for the intended livestream and territories. YouTube’s live-stream terms require rights for exploitation of the live content, including music licensing rights. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated if such content is detected. Even a track you have licensed can be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. Ask the owner or distributor about the required allowlisting process before broadcasting.
Read YouTube’s terms and its copyright guidance. Looping a track does not change these obligations or prevent live content scanning.
