You can run prerecorded Roblox gameplay as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast by sending the replay files through a local encoder or a cloud playout service. This is replay playout, not someone actively playing Roblox live. First confirm your channel can livestream, then create a stream in YouTube Studio, connect its stream key to your chosen encoder or service, and test the result before leaving it running.
Choose how to keep the replay stream running
The main choice is whether your own computer sends the video continuously or a hosted service handles playout in the cloud. YouTube’s encoder guide describes encoder streaming for gameplay and overlays, and lists Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded video. That listing is not an endorsement or proof of a commercial relationship.
| Factor | Local encoder | Hosted playout |
|---|---|---|
| Computer and connection | Your computer and internet connection must remain available while it sends the stream. | Playout runs in the cloud, so your personal computer does not have to stay on. |
| Control | You control the files and encoder settings directly; an encoder can also handle scenes or overlays. | Files and stream settings are managed through the service’s workflow; available controls vary by service. |
| Cost and terms | Consider the computer’s power use, connection, storage, and any encoder costs. | Check the service’s current price, billing terms, file limits, and cancellation rules before uploading. |
| Monitoring and recovery | You need to monitor the encoder, connection, and stream, and restart or troubleshoot failures. | Check what monitoring and recovery the service actually provides; do not assume every hosted service automatically restarts a dropped YouTube feed. |
| Archives and stream key | YouTube receives the feed from your encoder, and the key must be protected. Check the local recording and archive behavior separately. | You still connect the service to YouTube using the stream details it requires. Check how it stores files and handles YouTube archives. |
For either approach, YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video quality rather than assuming the feed will remain healthy unattended. Its encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not count on one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast producing one complete archive; check the current Live Control Room behavior and plan recordings accordingly.
Check channel eligibility and replay rights first
Confirm livestream access
YouTube’s livestreaming setup guide says the channel must be verified and must not have livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. It states a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming. If live streaming has not been activated on the channel, initial activation can take up to 24 hours.

Clear the footage and audio
YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the necessary rights to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other rights participants. The terms also require compliance with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and applicable laws. Read the current YouTube Live terms and ensure the replay contains only gameplay, music, voice chat, overlays, and other material you are entitled to stream.
Roblox’s Terms of Use, effective May 19, 2026, incorporate Creator Terms and restrict use of Roblox intellectual property except as allowed by the terms or separately permitted by the owner. Check the current terms and applicable creator rules, and clear other players’ footage, music, and third-party intellectual property included in a replay.

Separate permission from monetization
Having permission to stream a replay does not guarantee YouTube monetization. YouTube says game monetization depends on commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher; it warns that extended footage showing someone playing may not qualify. Its gameplay monetization guidance gives step-by-step commentary tied to the live action, with instructional or educational value, as an example of content that may qualify.
YouTube’s channel monetization policies separately warn against repetitive, interchangeable videos with little educational value, commentary, narrative, or variation. The review applies to the channel as a whole. A loop of your own replays is not automatically eligible: consider adding original context, commentary, instruction, or meaningful variation, and do not treat any format as a promise of approval.

Roblox’s Video Highlight Guidelines address videos displayed on an experience’s details page, including restrictions on commercial videos and outside-vendor ads. Those feature-specific rules should not be treated as automatically applying to every ordinary YouTube livestream; general Roblox terms and other applicable policies still matter.
Set up a YouTube Live stream
- Prepare your replay files. Confirm that each file plays correctly and includes the audio you intend to broadcast. For local playout, make sure the files are accessible for the full run and that you have enough storage for the library. An external drive can be useful, but the capacity you need depends on your file sizes, bitrates, and library length.
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room to create or schedule a stream. Select the appropriate visibility for a test, then locate the stream’s server URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder guide explains that these details let an encoder send a feed to the stream.
- Connect your encoder or hosted service. Paste the server URL and stream key into its YouTube or custom RTMP destination fields. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your broadcast. Do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or share it with people who do not need it.
- Load the replay playlist. Add the files in the order you want them played and set the encoder or service to repeat the playlist if continuous playback is the goal. Confirm whether it repeats the entire list or a single file, and verify the selected audio track.
- Run a short private or unlisted test. Start the encoder, check the Live Control Room preview, then open the watch page on the devices your audience is likely to use. Confirm picture, sound, playback order, and that the intended visibility is in effect. YouTube’s livestreaming tips recommend checking the stream and monitoring its audio and video.
- Start the planned broadcast and monitor it. Once the test works, use the appropriate visibility and go live. Check the encoder or service status and the YouTube stream during operation; unattended playback still needs a plan for detecting a failed upload, broken source file, or dropped connection.
Keep the stream dependable and plan for failure
Before a long run, check that source files are intact and accessible. YouTube’s livestreaming tips include checking local archive-file integrity and confirming that an archive file is growing during an event. For a prerecorded playlist, also confirm the encoder is advancing through files rather than repeatedly failing on one source.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- The preview is blank or YouTube receives no feed: verify the encoder is running, the server URL and stream key belong to the intended broadcast, and the local connection is online. If you suspect the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder.
- Video arrives but audio does not: check the selected source audio track, encoder audio input, and the playback volume of the replay files. Confirm audio on the watch page as well as in the encoder preview.
- The stream stops when you leave: in a local setup, check sleep, power, network, and encoder settings. A local workflow depends on the computer and its connection remaining operational.
- A file freezes or the playlist stops advancing: test the affected replay outside the stream, check its integrity and storage availability, and verify the playlist’s repeat and error-handling behavior.
- The stream drops unexpectedly: check the YouTube Live Control Room and encoder or hosted-service status, then follow the service’s recovery steps. Recovery behavior differs; verify it in advance rather than assuming automatic restart.
- The archive is incomplete or missing: check the current Live Control Room archive status and the broadcast duration. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so a single longer broadcast should not be relied on for one complete archive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I call a prerecorded Roblox replay a live gameplay stream?
It is a YouTube Live broadcast of prerecorded gameplay, not a person actively playing live. Describe it clearly to viewers.
Does a 24/7 broadcast create one 24-hour YouTube archive?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check current Live Control Room behavior for longer broadcasts and plan separate recording or archive handling.
