To loop a Hindi news bulletin on YouTube Live with OBS, add the recording as an OBS Media Source, enable Loop, connect OBS to an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, and test the preview before going live. First confirm you have rights to rebroadcast every part of the bulletin, including its audio and any YouTube archive.
Before you start: check rights and YouTube eligibility
Confirm permission for the complete bulletin
Make sure you have permission to rebroadcast the video, narration, music, clips, and graphics, and to retain an archived copy if YouTube creates one. YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content; a match can result in a warning, replacement of the picture, interruption, or termination. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions.
Check that the channel can go live
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so check eligibility and activate live streaming in the channel before planning a broadcast. See Get started with live streaming.
Set up the bulletin as a looping OBS source
- Create a scene: In OBS, add a scene for the bulletin broadcast.
- Add the recording: In the Sources area, select + → Media Source. Create a new source, choose the local video file, and confirm. OBS documents support for common formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, TS, and WebM. Labels can vary by OBS version and operating system; see OBS Media Sources.
- Enable repeat playback: Open the Media Source properties and turn on Loop. This restarts the file after playback completes. If the source is already present, open its properties and check the setting there.
- Check the composition: Look at the OBS preview to make sure the bulletin is visible and framed as intended. Confirm the audio meter responds when the recording plays. Observe the end of the file and its return to the beginning to verify the repeat behavior.
The playback and audio checks are practical checks of the source and preview; they do not guarantee that YouTube will receive a healthy stream.

Connect OBS to YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio: Select Create → Go Live, then create or select an encoder stream. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe this workflow.
- Copy the encoder details: In the stream settings, copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube.
- Enter them in OBS: Open OBS Settings → Stream, choose the YouTube service or the applicable custom option, and enter the server/stream URL and key in the matching fields. YouTube’s live stream settings guidance explains the stream credentials.
- Protect the key: Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it in a screenshot, tutorial, or public post; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Set visibility deliberately: Choose the intended visibility in YouTube Studio. An unlisted test can help you inspect the viewer experience without making the broadcast public.
Test the stream, then monitor the broadcast
Start the encoder from OBS and wait for the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Before making the event public, verify the image, audio, and playback, and check YouTube’s stream health indicators. YouTube recommends testing the encoder output and monitoring audio and video quality; an OBS connection by itself does not establish that viewers are receiving a clean feed. See YouTube live streaming tips and its encoder instructions.
- Confirm the bulletin is playing and the audio is audible without clipping or unwanted silence.
- Check the YouTube preview and stream health for warnings or connection problems.
- If practical, view the watch page from another device to confirm the viewer-facing result.
- Keep an eye out for copyright notices while the stream is live.
When the broadcast is over, stop the encoder in OBS and end the stream in YouTube Studio as appropriate. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, so make sure your permission covers the retained version as well as the live transmission.

Common problems and fixes
- The file plays once and stops: Reopen the Media Source properties and make sure Loop is enabled on the source that is actually in the scene.
- The preview is black or the file will not play: Check that the selected file path is correct and that the file uses a supported format. Re-select the local recording in the Media Source properties.
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Check that OBS is using the stream URL and key for the selected YouTube encoder stream, then reconnect. Keep the key private.
- OBS appears connected but the viewer feed is poor or silent: Inspect the YouTube preview, stream health, and OBS audio meter; connection status alone does not verify picture or sound quality. YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions page documents its supported settings. No particular resolution or bitrate is prescribed here because the right values depend on the source and connection.
- The stream is interrupted or the picture changes: Check for a YouTube copyright warning. A detected third-party match can interrupt a stream even where the uploader believes they hold a license; ask the rights owner about allowlisting if applicable.
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification, restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and whether first-time activation has completed. YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours.
