You can run Tamil devotional songs as a continuous YouTube Live stream by sending a prerecorded playlist through an encoder—software on a computer, supported hardware, or a cloud service. Before you set it up, confirm your channel can livestream and that you have the necessary rights to every recording and other asset. Then configure and test the stream, plan how you will monitor it, and decide whether you need separate, shorter sessions for reliable archiving.
Before you begin: channel access and music rights
Check livestream eligibility
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation of live streaming may take up to 24 hours, so enable it before your planned launch. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and livestreaming access requirements.
Clear the specific recordings, not just the devotional genre
“Tamil devotional” does not establish that a recording is free to use. A song may involve separate rights in its composition, arrangement, performance, sound recording, video, artwork, or other footage. Obtain the permissions and territorial clearances needed for each item in the stream. YouTube’s livestream terms require the creator to have the necessary rights for live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights and territorial requirements: YouTube livestream terms.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder image, interruption, or termination if the content remains. Even with a licence, ask the rights holder whether your channel needs to be allowlisted. If you archive the stream, Content ID claims on the archive may be made after the broadcast ends. Choose how the prerecorded stream will run
An encoder converts video into a digital format and sends it to YouTube Live. YouTube describes software encoders, standalone hardware, and cloud services as options in its encoder guide. Choose based on whether you can keep equipment and internet running, how much unattended operation you need, and how you will monitor interruptions.

Set up the live stream in YouTube Studio
- Prepare the playlist. Organize the songs and visuals you have permission to use. Check the sequence, transitions, audio levels, and playback duration. Keep an inventory of rights and any licence conditions, including attribution, territory, term, or channel allowlisting.
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live. Create a stream or schedule one, then set its title, description, visibility, and other stream details. The available fields and labels may vary with YouTube Studio’s current interface.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that broadcast into the corresponding encoder fields. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, share it unnecessarily, or leave it exposed in a screenshot. If it is compromised, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Send a private test first. Start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room. Preview the image and sound and check stream health before making the broadcast public. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend previewing and monitoring the stream.
- Start the public broadcast. Once the preview, rights, playlist, and stream health checks are satisfactory, make the stream public and confirm that playback is visible on the channel.
Encoder settings for a stable picture and sound
Use a protocol and codecs supported by YouTube; YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder ingestion where supported. Run an upload-speed test and leave bandwidth headroom rather than setting the encoder at the full measured upload rate. The figures below are YouTube’s published encoder guidance, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection will sustain the broadcast.

Keep a 24/7 stream healthy and plan its archive
Monitoring is part of the setup
Check the Live Control Room stream-health dashboard and listen to the actual audio, not only the encoder meter. Watch for dropped frames, interruptions, silent sections, abrupt playlist endings, or a picture that freezes while the audio continues. YouTube recommends monitoring stream quality and checking local archive files where applicable. For an unattended stream, decide who will respond to an alert and how they will restart or replace a failed feed.

Do not assume a full-day broadcast will be archived as one complete video
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous 24-hour stream is not covered by that stated under-12-hour guarantee. If complete archives matter, plan shorter broadcast sessions, confirm the archive after each one, and retain a local source copy when your workflow allows. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
Copyright permission does not guarantee monetization
Copyright clearance and eligibility for YouTube Partner Program monetization are separate questions. YouTube’s channel monetization policy applies to live streams and expects monetized content to be original and authentic. Its July 15, 2025 update clarified the existing repetitious-content policy as “inauthentic content,” including repetitive or mass-produced content. A channel built around third-party devotional recordings can therefore face a monetization review even if it has permission to use those recordings. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
