You can broadcast recorded lessons as a continuous YouTube Live stream by sending a looping video feed to YouTube with a local encoder, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. First confirm your channel can go live and that you have rights to every video and audio track. Then create a stream in YouTube Studio, connect an encoder using the stream URL and key, test the preview, and monitor the broadcast. A 24/7 setup is not a guarantee that one event will run indefinitely: plan for interruptions and check YouTube’s current event and archive behavior.
What you need before starting
Channel eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16 years old. Check access in YouTube Studio before preparing a long broadcast; eligibility details are in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance and Get started with live streaming.
Authorized recordings and audio
You are responsible for having the rights needed to broadcast the lessons, images, music, and other material in the stream. Keep permission or license records available to resolve questions. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a match can interrupt or terminate a stream. A license alone may not prevent a match: the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Review Livestream terms and conditions and Copyright issues with live streams.
A way to encode and send video
An encoder converts video into a format YouTube can receive. You can use software such as OBS, a standalone hardware encoder, or a hosted service designed to play prerecorded video continuously. YouTube lists OBS as open-source software and identifies Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams in its encoder guide. Hardware is optional; YouTube says expensive equipment is not required to begin.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a method for keeping the video playing
| Method | How it works | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo — cloud service | Upload recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and start a cloud-hosted loop or playlist. | Computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps streams as made, with one flat price per slot. First day is free with no card. It streams to YouTube only. |
| Local software encoder | A computer runs an encoder such as OBS and sends its output to YouTube. | Uses hardware you may already own and offers local control, but the computer, power, and network connection must remain available. YouTube’s encoder guide lists OBS, but does not provide a universal looping recipe or uptime comparison. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A standalone device encodes and sends the video feed. | May suit an existing production setup; check input compatibility, operating requirements, support, and failover. YouTube documents hardware encoders but does not establish a particular model as necessary for prerecorded lessons. |
| Other hosted continuous-stream service | A provider runs a stream in the cloud from uploaded prerecorded video. | Confirm the provider explicitly supports continuous prerecorded playback, then check its current controls, limits, pricing, and terms. YouTube lists Gyre for this use; that listing is not an endorsement or an uptime guarantee. |
For a local setup, the encoder or playback software must keep supplying the lesson sequence; YouTube receives the feed but does not define one universal method for looping files. Test that your chosen software or service transitions between recordings as intended.
Create and test the YouTube Live stream
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create and then Go live. Create a stream or schedule one. Choose a title, description, audience setting, privacy, and any other details appropriate to the class or channel.
- Set the stream options. In the stream settings, choose relevant controls such as latency, DVR, and auto-start or auto-stop. Their availability can vary. YouTube explains these controls in Manage live stream settings.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room into the matching fields in your encoder or hosted service. YouTube describes the key as the password and address that lets an encoder send the feed. Treat it as a secret: do not publish it, and reset it if someone else obtains it.
- Configure the video sequence. Add the recordings in the order you want and enable looping or playlist repetition in the encoder or service, if supported. Check that the end of one recording leads cleanly into the next and that the sequence continues rather than stopping after one pass.
- Start a test broadcast. Test privately or unlisted before making the stream public. Start the encoder and wait for the Live Control Room preview. Check picture, audio, playback order, and the watch page from a viewer’s perspective.
- Go live and monitor. When the preview is correct, make the stream public or start the scheduled event. Assign someone or an alerting process to watch stream health, audio, and video, and to respond to interruptions.
Prepare for a long-running broadcast
Allow time for setup and testing
YouTube advises setting up encoders at least 2 hours before an event and starting them at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. It also recommends a test live stream. Those are preparation instructions, not a promise that a broadcast will remain uninterrupted.

Plan for failures and recovery
Power loss, a local internet outage, an encoder crash, or a problem with the video source can stop a locally run feed. A backup encoder may help, but test failover rather than assuming it works. For any method, define who will notice a drop, how they will restore the stream, and how they will check that the feed has resumed. YouTube recommends checking the Live Control Room preview, confirming the event is reachable, and continuously monitoring audio and video; see YouTube live streaming tips.
Do not assume one event lasts forever
YouTube’s cited guidance does not establish that a single Live event can remain active indefinitely or explain how an uninterrupted 24/7 event is archived. Do not promise viewers an infinite event or permanent archive. Check current YouTube limits and archive behavior for your planned duration, and consider whether scheduled sessions better fit your channel and audience.
