To use NVIDIA Broadcast in Streamlabs Desktop, choose Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast) as your mic in Settings > Audio. For camera effects, add a video-capture source to your scene and choose Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast). Configure the source and effects in NVIDIA Broadcast first, and match the camera resolution in both apps.

Before you install: check compatibility

NVIDIA Broadcast needs supported hardware and software; it does not run on every PC. NVIDIA’s setup guide lists Windows 10 64-bit, at least 8 GB of RAM, internet access during installation, and a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or higher GPU. NVIDIA’s regional guide lists driver 570 or above. These requirements can change, so check NVIDIA’s current Broadcast page before installing or buying hardware. The specific figures above come from NVIDIA’s setup guides and should not be treated as a guarantee of support for every feature or later release.

Install and configure NVIDIA Broadcast

  1. Install NVIDIA Broadcast from NVIDIA’s official site and open it. Internet access is listed as an installation requirement in NVIDIA’s setup guide.

  2. In Broadcast, select the physical microphone or camera you want it to process.

NVIDIA documents this global audio route. Streamlabs also documents adding an Audio Input Capture source and selecting the NVIDIA Broadcast device; use the method that fits your current scene and audio setup, but do not capture the same mic through both routes. 3. Choose Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) as the device.

  4. Set the camera resolution in NVIDIA Broadcast, then set the same resolution for the camera source in Streamlabs. NVIDIA’s instructions say to leave the source settings at their defaults; Streamlabs notes that the resolution in the two apps must match or the camera may not display correctly.

Choosing the Broadcast microphone in global audio settings does not add a camera source. Audio and camera routing are separate. For Streamlabs’ permission and initial setup guidance, see its getting-started guide, dated July 22, 2026.

Choose which signal to process

  • Microphone only: Select the Broadcast virtual microphone in Streamlabs. You do not need to add the Broadcast camera.
  • Camera only: Add the Broadcast camera as a video-capture source in the scene. You do not need to route the Broadcast microphone.
  • Both: Set up each route separately, and match camera resolutions across the two apps.

A new webcam or graphics card is not automatically necessary if your existing camera and PC meet NVIDIA’s current requirements. Check compatibility before spending money.

Troubleshoot common setup problems

NVIDIA Broadcast microphone is missing

  • Confirm NVIDIA Broadcast is installed and open, and that its microphone input and desired effect are configured.
  • In Streamlabs, check Settings > Audio > Mic/Auxiliary Device 1 and select the virtual Broadcast microphone rather than the physical microphone.
  • Check that Streamlabs has microphone permission in Windows. Streamlabs’ getting-started guide calls out microphone permissions.

Camera does not appear or display correctly

  • Confirm Streamlabs has camera permission and that the scene contains a video-capture source.
  • Select Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) for that source; selecting the microphone does not add the camera.
  • Match the camera resolution selected in Broadcast to the resolution set for the Streamlabs source.

The PC or a feature is not supported

Recheck NVIDIA’s live system requirements and feature support before installation. The GPU, memory, operating-system, and driver details listed in older setup guides may change; do not assume a computer is compatible based only on the examples in this article. If device selection, permissions, and matching resolution do not resolve the issue, consult current NVIDIA setup guidance or Streamlabs support. Their documented checks do not establish a universal fix for every missing-device, black-screen, or audio-conflict problem.

Or let it run in the cloud

NVIDIA Broadcast processes a mic or camera for a Streamlabs Desktop setup. If your separate goal is to keep prerecorded video live on a YouTube channel around the clock, StreamNeo is a different kind of tool: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo, or start your free first day.
