These figures are from YouTube’s encoder settings guidance. Measure upload repeatedly, including at busy times and while other devices are using the network. Keep at least YouTube’s recommended 20% spare capacity above the stream’s total bitrate; more margin may be prudent for a broadcast that must run for long periods. A single speed test cannot establish sustained performance.
Check plan usage terms before leaving a stream on
The cited Jio prepaid and postpaid terms apply a 3300 GB commercial-use policy or limit to the covered unlimited plans. Check the current terms for your exact plan and confirm what applies to your use; do not treat the figure as a universal allowance for every JioFiber plan. How much data your broadcast uses depends on its bitrate and duration. Confirm your plan’s applicable usage conditions rather than assuming that ordinary household browsing limits or a speed tier settle the question.
Test the complete setup before a 24/7 broadcast
- Connect the streaming computer to the Jio gateway by Ethernet if possible. A wired local link removes Wi-Fi variability between that computer and the router, but it cannot prevent an ISP outage.
- Measure upload at different times. Check during typical household use as well as quieter periods. Jio says NetVelocity can show upload speed, network quality, latency, and whether the device is on Wi-Fi or LAN. Its speed-check guidance also suggests trying LAN if speed seems low.
- Run a representative test stream. Use the intended resolution, frame rate, audio, and encoder bitrate. YouTube recommends testing with representative movement and audio, checking the preview, and watching stream health in Live Control Room.
- Test under realistic network load. Repeat while household devices are active. The stream needs headroom beyond its bitrate, not just a high result from an otherwise idle connection.
- Plan for failures beyond the internet link. A local power cut, computer crash, encoder failure, or ISP disruption can stop a DIY broadcast. If uninterrupted availability is essential, investigate independent backup power, connection, and encoder arrangements.
If Jio speed appears unexpectedly low, its guidance suggests restarting the router, switching between Wi-Fi and LAN, or using MyJio diagnostics. These checks may help identify a local issue; they do not establish that a connection will remain uninterrupted for a day or longer.

Confirm YouTube eligibility and lecture rights
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. The stream and its contents must also comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
For a recorded lecture, make sure you have the rights needed for the lecture recording and any music, images, slides, or other embedded material. Whether a particular recording is cleared depends on its contents and permissions; a lecture being educational does not by itself establish that every included work can be rebroadcast.
