How do I stream prerecorded videos on YouTube 24/7?
1. Prepare and check the lesson library
Put the lessons you want to broadcast in a clear sequence. Play each file from beginning to end to catch missing audio, damaged files, incorrect aspect ratios, or unintended blank sections. Check the rights for every element, including code examples and slides captured from third-party material; educational subject matter alone does not grant permission to reuse copyrighted content.
2. Create the live stream in YouTube Studio
Open YouTube Studio and use the current Live Control Room prompts to create or select a stream. Set the title, description, visibility, audience settings, and schedule for your channel. YouTube’s interface labels can change, so follow the current prompts rather than relying on an outdated menu path.
3. Copy the connection details into your encoder
In the Live Control Room, obtain the stream URL and private stream key, then enter them into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The stream key works like a password: keep it private and do not expose it in a screen recording, public post, or shared configuration. Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives a healthy signal before treating the stream as ready.

4. Keep the computer and source available
For local encoding, leave the computer running with the lesson files accessible and a stable internet connection. Disable sleep or automatic shutdown for the duration of the broadcast, and make sure the machine has sufficient storage and cooling for continuous operation. A UPS is optional and may help with a short power interruption, but it does not protect against internet or encoder failure.
5. Test a complete playlist cycle
Before public launch, test the whole sequence: confirm video and audio, check transitions, and verify that the final lesson returns to the first without the encoder stopping or leaving an unintended gap. Looping behavior depends on the encoder you choose, so check its playlist or repeat controls and test rather than assuming that YouTube will loop uploaded lessons for you.

6. Monitor the feed and decide who responds
Watch the encoder and YouTube’s stream-health display during startup and operation. Assign someone to respond to alerts, restart a failed source, update lessons, and handle rights questions. A 24/7 schedule is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service: the encoder, local machine, power, connection, source files, or YouTube’s receiving service can each interrupt it.
How do I loop a playlist on YouTube Live?
YouTube’s encoder instructions cover sending a live signal but do not prescribe one playlist-looping application. Use an encoder that can play your files in sequence and repeat them, then verify the repeat behavior with a full test cycle before launch. Pay attention to whether the encoder pauses between files, stops after the final item, or needs the playlist to be explicitly set to repeat; these details depend on the selected software.

How should I plan replays of a continuous stream?
YouTube’s current help guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one continuous broadcast lasting longer than 12 hours will be saved as a complete replay. If viewers need the lessons later, preserve the original lesson files and offer them separately where appropriate, or plan a broadcast schedule that supports the archive you want.
Can I stream recorded classes live on YouTube?
Yes, prerecorded classes can be sent as a YouTube Live feed through an encoder, but you still need the rights to all included material and must follow YouTube’s live-stream and monetization policies. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches and may replace a stream with a placeholder or interrupt or terminate it if matching content continues. Replaying original lessons can provide educational value, but that does not guarantee monetization. YouTube’s monetization policy applies to live streams as well as uploaded videos and evaluates channel content for originality, authenticity, and meaningful variation. Troubleshooting common failures
YouTube does not receive a signal
- Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and private key from the selected stream in YouTube Studio.
- Confirm the encoder is actively playing a source and that the computer has an internet connection.
- Recheck the stream-health display after restarting the encoder. Keep the private key confidential while troubleshooting.
The stream stops at the end of the playlist
- Check the encoder’s repeat or loop setting and whether the playlist itself is configured to restart.
- Run the full playlist through to the last file in a test. Do not rely on a partial test to confirm return-to-first behavior.
Video or audio is missing or wrong
- Play the affected file locally and verify the intended audio track and video are present.
- Confirm the encoder can read the file and that transitions or playlist changes do not leave a blank source.
The broadcast is interrupted or replaced
- Check for encoder, power, connection, or source-file failure and restart or replace the source as appropriate.
- If YouTube reports a copyright match, review the affected material and resolve the rights issue. A license may require the rights holder to allowlist the channel.
A replay is incomplete or unavailable
Check the broadcast duration against YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive guidance. Keep the original lesson files available rather than depending on a very long continuous stream as the only replay copy.
