To repeat a sequence in Wirecast, set the playlist’s end behavior to Loop. If an individual clip must also restart at its own end, set that clip’s Source Properties to When Finished: Loop. These are separate controls: playlist looping restarts the sequence after its final shot, while clip looping controls what happens when that clip finishes.
Set the playlist to loop

Add your video clips to a Wirecast playlist and arrange them in the order you want them to play. Check that the playlist contains the intended shots before you set it live.

Open the playlist’s end-behavior control and choose Loop. At the end of the final shot, playback returns to the playlist’s first shot and continues through the sequence again. Telestream documents this behavior in its Wirecast 13 Windows user guide; control placement and labels may differ in your installed release.
Set a clip’s own end behavior when needed
Playlist behavior and clip behavior are independent. For a clip that should restart as soon as it reaches its end, open that clip’s Source Properties and set When Finished to Loop. Use this when the clip itself needs to repeat rather than simply playing once as part of the playlist.

Pay particular attention to the final clip. Telestream’s Wirecast 13 guide notes that a playlist set to Hold can stay on its last shot even if the last clip has a different playback behavior. If you want the entire sequence to restart, make sure the playlist end behavior—not only the clip setting—is set to Loop.

In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the stream and copy its stream key into Wirecast’s encoder/stream settings. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or publish it. YouTube lists Wirecast among the encoder options.

Choose compatible encoder settings for your intended resolution and frame rate, and verify the stream’s ingest details in YouTube. YouTube supports H.264, HEVC, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingest and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transmission. Consult YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance; bitrate needs depend on format and frame rate, so do not assume one setting fits every stream.

Start the Wirecast output and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check both picture and sound before starting the public stream. YouTube recommends testing in advance and monitoring audio and video while live; its live streaming tips also recommend about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom beyond the stream bitrate.
Test the loop before relying on it
Run the playlist through a complete cycle before scheduling a long broadcast. Confirm that the last shot transitions back to the first, any clips that should restart behave as intended, and audio remains present and in sync at the transition. Keep Wirecast’s output and YouTube’s live preview visible during the test so you can catch a stalled source, missing sound, or dropped connection before viewers encounter it.

A “24/7” schedule is an operating goal, not an uninterrupted-service guarantee. Wirecast depends on the computer running the encoder, a stable network connection, and YouTube accepting the stream; YouTube’s guidance emphasizes setup, preview and ongoing monitoring rather than promising continuous uptime. Telestream’s public version history lists Wirecast 16.5.4, released September 16, 2026, while the detailed playlist behavior cited here is documented in the Wirecast 13 Windows guide. Check the controls in the version you have installed.
