Add the logo as an OBS Image source in the scene that already plays your loop, then place that source above the video in the Sources list. The logo’s size and position are scene-composition choices; 4K at 60 fps is controlled separately by your OBS output and YouTube encoder settings. Test the result in YouTube’s Live Control Room before making it public.
Add the logo to your loop scene
- Open the scene that carries your loop. Use the OBS scene where the video is already playing; this keeps the logo attached to the same broadcast scene.
- Add an Image source. In the Sources list, add an Image source and choose your logo file. OBS documents image sources in its Knowledge Base search results.
- Layer it above the loop. Move the logo source above the video source in the Sources list. Sources higher in the list appear over sources below them.
- Set its size and position in the preview. Resize and move the logo so it remains within the picture area and does not cover important text or focal details. Leaving room from the screen edges is a composition choice, not a YouTube requirement.
- Keep it separate from the video. A separate source lets you move, resize, hide, or replace the logo without editing the loop file. Exact control names and interactions can vary by OBS version, so check your installed version if a label differs.
The overlay is applied in the OBS scene while the loop plays; it does not need to be baked into the underlying video. YouTube describes encoder streams as supporting overlays, and notes that encoders let creators stream gameplay and overlays (YouTube live streaming tips).
Set up OBS and YouTube for 4K at 60 fps
Adding a logo does not set your broadcast resolution, frame rate, or bitrate. Confirm that your OBS canvas and output are configured for 3840×2160 at 60 fps, and that your computer and network can sustain the settings. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate recommendations can change, so recheck its current guidance when configuring a future stream (YouTube encoder settings).
Choose the bitrate for the codec you are using
YouTube’s published guidance, accessed October 3, 2026, gives these recommendations for 2160p at 60 fps:

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Codec | Recommended bitrate | Minimum bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265 (HEVC) | 35 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| H.264 | 50 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
Use the figure for the codec your encoder actually sends; these recommendations are not interchangeable. YouTube recommends CBR bitrate encoding and a 2-second keyframe frequency, with a maximum keyframe interval of 4 seconds. It recommends RTMPS for the connection. For 4K/2160p, YouTube’s low-latency option is unavailable and streams use normal latency. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance for current values and details.
Check the stream key and resolution behavior
YouTube detects encoder settings automatically by default. Its guidance says a custom stream key allows manual resolution settings. Use the key and configuration appropriate for your stream in OBS, and keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your channel. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple output formats for viewers; your outgoing OBS settings still determine what you send to YouTube.

Preview and test before going public
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and check the incoming preview for the logo’s position, scale, and visibility over representative parts of the loop.
- Test with representative motion and audio rather than checking only a still frame. Confirm that the video remains smooth and the audio is correct.
- Monitor YouTube’s stream-health information during the test. Resolve warnings or visible quality problems before starting a public broadcast.
YouTube recommends checking the stream preview and stream health when setting up an encoder broadcast (Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder).
Troubleshoot common logo and stream problems
| Symptom | What to check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The logo is hidden behind the loop | Its order in the Sources list | Move the Image source above the video source. |
| The logo is missing or appears incorrectly | The selected image file and its placement in the preview | Confirm the Image source uses the intended file, then reposition or resize it in the scene. |
| The stream is not 4K or 60 fps | OBS canvas/output settings, encoder configuration, and YouTube’s detected stream settings | Check that the output is 3840×2160 at 60 fps and review YouTube’s current encoder guidance. The overlay itself does not set resolution or frame rate. |
| YouTube reports poor stream health | Codec-specific bitrate, CBR, keyframe interval, and available upload capacity | Compare the encoder settings with YouTube’s current recommendations for the selected codec; lower output demands if the system or connection cannot sustain them. |
| The broadcast preview is absent or delayed | Stream key, connection method, and Live Control Room status | Verify the selected YouTube stream key and RTMPS configuration, then check the encoder setup guidance and wait for YouTube’s preview to populate before going public. |
Copyright and loop-content checks
An image overlay does not grant rights to the video, music, or other material in the loop. Before streaming, confirm you have the rights or permissions needed for every element. YouTube’s encoder setup and live-stream guidance explains the platform workflow; review YouTube’s applicable copyright and live-stream rules for your content rather than assuming that a loop or logo changes them.
