Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Ending a YouTube broadcast does not stop its AWS Elemental MediaLive channel. In the AWS console, open MediaLive → Channels, select the channel, choose Stop, and confirm its state reaches IDLE. A stopped channel can still incur idle charges, and connected resources such as MediaConnect flows or a multiplex may continue billing separately.
Stop the MediaLive channel and verify its state
- In the AWS console, select the account and Region where the channel was created. Open MediaLive → Channels and find the channel.
- Check its state. If it is RUNNING, select the channel and choose Stop. Ending the YouTube broadcast or stopping its source is a separate event; it does not issue a stop command to MediaLive. AWS describes the manual stop procedure in its channel start, stop, and pause documentation.
- Check the channel again until its state is IDLE. STOPPING means the transition is still in progress. The API equivalent is
StopChannel; AWS documents the operation and channel states in the StopChannel API reference.
Stopping is not the same as deleting. A channel must be idle before it can be deleted, and deleting it does not automatically clean up every connected resource. See AWS’s channel editing and deletion guidance before removing a channel you may need again.
Why charges can continue after stopping
MediaLive billing depends on resource state and configuration. AWS distinguishes running charges for configured inputs and outputs from idle resource charges. While a channel is running, input and output charges can accrue even if no input content is arriving or outputs are producing content. Pausing pipelines does not change a channel’s running state.
| Resource or state | What to know |
|---|---|
| Running channel | Configured input and output charges can accrue, even without active content. |
| Idle channel | A stopped channel can still have an idle channel charge. |
| Attached push input | May incur an idle input charge after the channel stops. Consider deleting an unused push input only if you do not need to reuse it. |
| Attached pull input | AWS says idle pull inputs do not incur an idle input resource charge. |
| Paused pipelines | The channel remains running for billing purposes; pausing is not a way to stop charges. |
For the billing distinctions, consult AWS’s MediaLive pricing guidance and MediaLive pricing page. Total cost can include input processing, output processing, enabled add-ons, idle resources, and applicable data transfer. The amount depends on Region and configuration, so these sources do not establish a universal bill or India-specific estimate.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check connected services separately
MediaConnect flows and outputs
MediaConnect outputs do not automatically stop when their associated MediaLive channel stops. If the channel uses MediaConnect, inspect its flow and outputs, then stop resources you no longer need. AWS warns that outputs can continue trying to send data and may create additional flow charges. See AWS’s MediaConnect-to-MediaLive guidance.
Multiplex
If the channel belongs to a multiplex, check the multiplex state too. Stopping one channel does not stop the multiplex; the multiplex can continue running and accruing charges until it is stopped. Follow AWS’s multiplex stop guidance if the entire multiplex is unused.

Other line items
Do not assume another service is responsible without checking the account. Review actual billing line items for the relevant date range and Region; investigate other services only if they appear in your account’s usage or invoice data.
Diagnose the invoice in an AWS India account
The stop procedure is the same regardless of billing country. For accounts with an India tax address, AWS says AWS India is the billing entity and invoices are issued in INR. The account’s tax address determines the seller and applicable taxes; the MediaLive rate still depends on the service Region and channel configuration. See AWS India FAQs.

- In Billing and Cost Management, inspect service and usage line items for the dates and Region in question.
- Compare those entries with the MediaLive channel state, input type, and configuration, plus any MediaConnect or multiplex resources you identified.
- Check the account’s tax address, billing entity, and invoice currency. Do not infer a precise INR charge from a rate for another Region or configuration.
- If the charges remain unclear, use your account’s billing data and contact AWS Support; only AWS can review the account-specific resources and invoice.
Common problems and fixes
- The channel still says RUNNING: Make sure you selected the right AWS account and Region, then stop the channel from its MediaLive channel page.
- The state says STOPPING: The stop transition is not complete. Check the channel state again and confirm it reaches IDLE.
- The channel says IDLE but charges remain: Check for idle channel and push-input charges, then inspect connected MediaConnect flows and multiplexes. Verify the actual billing line items rather than attributing the charge by assumption.
- You paused pipelines instead: Pausing does not make the channel idle. Use Stop and verify IDLE.
- You cannot delete the channel: Confirm it is idle first. Review attached resources separately; channel deletion is not a general cleanup operation.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is simply to keep uploaded video looping on a YouTube channel, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service from AWS MediaLive: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; it streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not from a camera. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
