To estimate ad earnings for a 24/7 YouTube livestream in India, use the stream’s own estimated ad revenue in YouTube Analytics, divide it by the number of comparable hours or days in your sample, then multiply by the forecast period. Treat the result as a scenario—not a promised payout or a universal India rate. A stream can remain live all day without every view being monetized.
Start with the right revenue figure
For an ad-only estimate, use estimated ad revenue, not total revenue or a generic “India RPM.” In YouTube Analytics, select the livestream and the period you want to examine, then check its revenue reporting. YouTube says live and replay ad revenue can be broken out in Analytics, but some revenue reports are unavailable when using a live-only filter; if a figure is missing, use the relevant live/replay revenue view rather than assuming it is zero. If the stream is new or its revenue data is not yet available, there is not enough evidence to calculate a channel-specific estimate. Use a comparable period from the same channel if available, and label any projection as provisional.
Calculate a transparent projection
- Confirm monetization. Check that the channel is in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), has accepted the Watch Page Monetization Module, and has monetization enabled for the stream. See YouTube’s YPP eligibility overview and module guidance. Without the applicable eligibility and module, an ad-revenue projection may not apply.
- Choose a representative sample. In YouTube Studio, open Analytics, select the stream or a comparable live-and-replay reporting view, and set a time window with enough activity to reflect its usual audience. Record the estimated ad revenue and the sample’s hours or days. For live viewing context, YouTube’s live metrics guidance describes reporting such as viewing patterns, traffic sources, devices, and playback locations.
- Work out the observed rate. Divide estimated ad revenue for the sample by the number of sample hours (or days). Keep the period and currency consistent.
- Scale to the forecast period. Multiply that observed hourly (or daily) rate by the forecast hours (or days). State that this is a simple extrapolation from past performance, not an official YouTube calculator or a guaranteed result.
- Review the assumptions. Check whether audience geography, viewing patterns, ad settings, and season are reasonably comparable. YouTube identifies geography, time of year, and ad-format mix as factors in CPM variation; if these change, the historical rate may not represent the forecast period.
- Recheck later. Estimated earnings may be adjusted after generation. Revisit the figure when YouTube’s reporting updates, especially if there are rights claims, disputes, invalid-traffic adjustments, or other changes.

Disclose that the projection assumes a broadly comparable audience and viewing pattern, ad settings, and season, and does not model policy, rights, or invalid-traffic adjustments. Without your own Analytics figures, sample period, audience geography, and monetization status, no specific earnings amount can be calculated.

Why views, RPM, and CPM do not give the answer by themselves
Views are not monetized playbacks
A view does not necessarily include an ad. A playback can have no ad or more than one ad impression, so views, monetized playbacks, and ad impressions are distinct metrics. If available, review monetized playbacks, ad impressions, and geography alongside views to understand why similar view counts can produce different ad revenue.
RPM includes more than ads
YouTube defines RPM as creator revenue per 1,000 views after revenue share. It can include ads, YouTube Premium, memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. That makes it useful for a broader channel revenue picture, but it is not an ad-only rate. For this estimate, use estimated ad revenue rather than treating total RPM as ad revenue.

CPM is advertiser spend, not creator take-home
CPM is advertiser spend per 1,000 ad impressions before revenue share; it is not a rate to multiply by all livestream views. YouTube’s partner earnings overview says Watch Page Ads partners receive 55% of net revenues from ads displayed or streamed on public videos on the content Watch Page. That share is described as applying to net revenue, so do not mechanically multiply an advertiser CPM by all views and then apply the share. YouTube also says its Partner Agreement does not guarantee how much, or whether, a creator will be paid. See YouTube’s partner earnings overview.
What 24/7 ad delivery can—and cannot—tell you
When monetization is enabled, YouTube says pre-roll and display ads are automatically on. Mid-rolls can be automatic, scheduled, or inserted manually; a scheduled interval is a chance to place a slot, not a guarantee that an ad will serve. YouTube explicitly says, “Ad slots are not guaranteed to serve ads.” Its guidance recommends automatic mid-rolls and lists scheduled intervals of 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 minutes.

YouTube reports that creators choosing live automatic mid-roll ads saw, on average, over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour. That is YouTube’s comparison of channels with automatic mid-roll ads versus channels without them, averaged across 207 countries in January 2024. It is not a forecast or promised uplift for an individual channel in India.
For a gaming channel, long hours online do not by themselves establish that viewers are present, ads are served, or the viewing is monetizable. Use actual stream Analytics and compare like with like instead of assuming that round-the-clock availability creates a fixed hourly return.

Protect the estimate from monetization and traffic problems
Revenue shown as estimated can change. YouTube lists invalid traffic, Content ID claims, disputes, and other factors among reasons earnings may be adjusted. Invalid traffic can include artificial or incentivized activity; YouTube says it may reduce or defer earnings, limit ad serving, or result in earnings being withheld, changed, or offset. Do not buy traffic, use traffic-boosting schemes, ask viewers to click ads, or encourage them to watch ads to raise earnings. These tactics can put both revenue and monetization at risk.
