You can add YouTube’s native donate button to an always-on channel only if the channel has access to YouTube Giving. In YouTube Studio, create a fundraiser, select an eligible U.S. nonprofit, attach the scheduled livestream you want to use, and publish. The donate control appears after the fundraiser’s start date. For a continuous 24/7 feed, verify the specific scheduled stream is attached: YouTube’s instructions do not say one fundraiser automatically covers every future stream.

Check whether the channel can use YouTube Giving

YouTube’s published criteria say a channel should be based in a supported location, have at least 10,000 subscribers, be in the YouTube Partner Program, and not be designated “made for kids.” YouTube notes that some channels outside those criteria may still see fundraising access, so check the channel rather than treating the list as a definitive block: open YouTube Studio > Earn > Giving. If Giving is available, follow the setup there. See YouTube Giving FAQs for the current location list and eligibility details; supported locations include the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Confirm the nonprofit is eligible

YouTube Giving recipients must be U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) public charities, be requested by a creator, belong to Google for Nonprofits, opt into online fundraising through GuideStar, and meet YouTube monetization-policy requirements. If the charity you want does not appear in the selection tool, check those requirements and request it if appropriate. Creator requests can take up to five business days. The recipient rules and request process are described in Google for Nonprofits’ fundraiser setup instructions.

Create the fundraiser and attach the right livestream

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio using the channel that has access to Giving.
  2. Open Earn > Giving, then choose Get started > Create a fundraiser.
  3. Select an available U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If it is missing, use the request process and allow up to five business days for a creator request.
  4. Enter the fundraiser title and description, and add collaborators if needed. Google suggests a goal and duration; you can change them.
  5. Add the scheduled livestream that should display the donate feature. You can also begin the fundraiser setup from the Live Control Room’s Advanced Settings while preparing a stream.
  6. Publish the fundraiser. Once its start date arrives, check the viewer-facing watch page or live chat to confirm the donate control is visible.

For a 24/7 channel, treat the attachment as specific to the scheduled livestream you select. Check that the intended stream is listed under the fundraiser, that the campaign has started, and that the donate control appears on the actual viewer page. The official setup instructions explain how to add scheduled livestreams; they do not promise that attaching one stream binds the fundraiser to every future broadcast or to an uninterrupted feed. Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Choose how viewers will find the donate control

When live chat is enabled on the fundraising stream, viewers can donate using the icon in chat. If the stream has no chat, the donate button appears beside or below the stream. On mobile, viewers need to hold the device in portrait orientation to see live chat donations. The donate button will not appear if the video or channel is set as made for kids. You can monitor donations in the Live Control Room’s Viewer Activity Widget. These display details are covered in YouTube Giving FAQs.

Understand the interaction and monetization trade-offs

  • Live Chat Donations replaced the former “Super Chat for Good” flow.
  • Super Chat and Super Stickers are disabled on streams using Live Chat Donations.
  • You cannot use members-only live chat with the donate button.
  • Super Thanks is unavailable on videos with donations.
  • YouTube says adding a fundraiser does not affect ads.

Decide whether the native fundraiser’s donation controls are worth those interaction changes for this stream before you publish. Viewers’ contributions go to the nonprofit, not to the creator: Google says 100% of a contribution goes to the nonprofit and YouTube pays transaction fees. Google works with Network for Good to collect and distribute donations at Google’s request. Distributions are typically monthly; donations under $10 are distributed annually. Network for Good has legal control of collected donations and may select another qualifying nonprofit if it cannot distribute funds to the intended recipient. Details are in the YouTube Giving FAQs.

Plan the always-on broadcast separately from the fundraiser

YouTube requires live streaming to be enabled on a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. Available ways to go live include mobile, webcam, encoder, and console; an encoder suits productions that use overlays or external audio and video hardware. You do not need a webcam if you use another supported route. See Get started with live streaming.

Do not assume the whole continuous broadcast will be archived

The official material available here does not establish a definitive maximum continuous-stream duration or archive cutoff. YouTube’s live streaming tips are a relevant place to check current archive guidance, but do not promise viewers that the entire 24/7 broadcast will become a replay. If retaining a complete replay matters, consult YouTube’s current archive guidance and make a local recording rather than relying on an unconfirmed archive limit. A StreamNeo article on YouTube live-stream archives discusses a 12-hour concern, but that is secondary guidance, not an official rule established here.

If YouTube Giving is unavailable

You can direct viewers to an external fundraising page, but that is not YouTube’s native donate button and does not create the same in-player donation experience. Google for Nonprofits suggests using end screens to link to external fundraising sites such as GoFundMe or JustGiving; check the chosen platform’s current fundraising terms and setup requirements. See Reach new audiences & engage your supporters using YouTube.

Troubleshoot a missing donate button

  • Giving is absent from Studio: Check Earn > Giving while signed into the correct channel. Confirm the channel’s location, subscriber, Partner Program, and made-for-kids status against YouTube’s current eligibility information.
  • The fundraiser exists, but the stream has no donate control: Confirm the fundraiser is published, its start date has arrived, and the intended scheduled livestream is attached. Then inspect the viewer-facing page, not only Studio.
  • The control is missing in live chat: Check that chat is enabled. If the stream has no chat, look beside or below the player instead. Mobile viewers should use portrait orientation for chat donations.
  • The video or channel is made for kids: YouTube says the donate button will not show in this case.
  • The nonprofit cannot be selected: Check that it is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3), belongs to Google for Nonprofits, has opted into online fundraising through GuideStar, and meets YouTube monetization policies. A creator request can take up to five business days.
  • A later broadcast on the same 24/7 channel lacks the control: Verify that the fundraiser is attached to that scheduled stream. Do not assume an attachment carries over to every future broadcast.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the stream is prerecorded video rather than a camera broadcast, StreamNeo can keep a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. A StreamNeo stream does not replace the YouTube Giving steps above: attach the fundraiser to the scheduled YouTube livestream and verify that its donate control appears.
