If audio and video drift out of sync during a 24/7 Hindi songs stream, first check whether the mismatch is already present in your encoder preview or local recording, or appears only in YouTube playback. That distinction helps narrow the problem to your sources and encoder, or to the outbound stream and delivery. Then use YouTube’s timestamped health messages, check the audio configuration, CPU and upload bandwidth, and test changes with a representative stream. YouTube does not document one universal live A/V sync control, and changing stream latency is not an established fix for drift.
First find where the audio goes out of sync
Compare the same moment in two places: your encoder preview or local recording, and the YouTube playback. Use a section with clear musical transients, vocals, or other visual movement so the mismatch is easier to notice.
- Out of sync in the encoder preview or local recording: Investigate the audio and video sources, how they are routed into the encoder, and the encoder configuration. YouTube recommends checking the stream in the encoder and looking for audio or video problems in the local archive. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guide
- In sync in the encoder or recording, but not in YouTube playback: Check Live Control Room health messages and timestamps, encoder errors, CPU load, and the strength of the outbound connection. These checks help isolate the delivery path; they do not prove that YouTube itself caused the mismatch.
Do not assume that every sync problem has the same cause. The official guidance does not diagnose this exact combination of a 24/7 Hindi music stream and live A/V drift.
Use Live Control Room messages to guide your checks
Open the stream’s health information in YouTube Live Control Room and note any errors and their timestamps. Match a message to what was happening at that time; fix the reported issue rather than changing unrelated settings. YouTube lists audio-format, stream-count, sample-rate, and bitrate errors among the issues to check. YouTube’s live-stream error guidance

If you need to correlate a health alert with your encoder, record its time and compare it with the encoder’s logs or local recording. A warning about audio configuration is worth correcting, but it is not by itself proof that the warning caused the sync drift.
Verify the audio and video configuration
Use the actual encoder’s documentation for its controls; their names and locations vary by software or hardware. YouTube’s live-stream error guidance specifies these ingestion checks:

Separate encoder performance from upload problems
Check encoder health and CPU load
Review the encoder’s error messages and CPU load, especially if the timing problem begins or worsens during demanding encoding or other work on the machine. If the local recording also shows the mismatch, keep investigating the sources and encoder before treating it as a YouTube playback issue. YouTube’s troubleshooting flow recommends checking encoder health, CPU load, and the local archive. Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream

Check upload bandwidth and headroom
Compare the total bitrate of your primary and backup streams with the upload bandwidth actually available to the encoder. YouTube recommends keeping upload bandwidth 20% above the total stream bitrate. This is headroom guidance, not a promise that additional bandwidth alone will correct sync drift. YouTube streaming tips
If the encoder preview and local archive look healthy, but YouTube playback does not, test the outbound connection as a separate diagnostic. Avoid changing several network and encoder settings at once; otherwise, it becomes harder to tell which change affected the symptom.

Test one change with a representative stream
Before relying on a configuration for a continuous broadcast, test it with audio and movement similar to the actual stream. Check the encoder preview and local recording, then monitor YouTube stream health during operation. YouTube recommends pre-testing and monitoring stream health; it does not prescribe a particular monitoring interval. YouTube encoder settings and testing
- Choose a representative section of the Hindi songs stream, including clear audio and visible movement where possible.
- Record the current encoder settings and note the time and symptom before changing anything.
- Change only the setting tied to an observed issue, such as a specific Live Control Room alert or an encoder error. Use the encoder’s own documentation for the control.
- Compare the same section in the preview or local recording and YouTube playback. Check whether the symptom changes and whether new health messages appear.
- If the adjustment makes the result worse or creates another problem, restore the recorded setting and continue diagnosis one variable at a time.
Do not confuse stream latency with A/V sync
Latency is the delay from capture to playback for viewers; it is not the same as audio arriving out of time with video. YouTube defines stream latency as the time between an encoder or camera capturing an event and that event appearing on the stream. Manage live stream settings

YouTube describes low latency as usually under 10 seconds for most viewers and ultra-low latency as usually under 5 seconds for most viewers. Those are descriptions of viewer delay, not acceptable sync tolerances or guarantees. Lower latency can increase buffering, and YouTube’s guidance does not say that selecting a latency mode fixes A/V drift. For a non-interactive music stream, prioritize stable playback unless audience interaction gives you a reason to favor lower latency. YouTube’s latency guidance
Keep music rights separate from sync troubleshooting
Copyright checks will not repair timing, but they matter to whether a 24/7 songs stream stays live. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; a stream can be interrupted or terminated. Even if you have a licence, the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel for the stream to continue without a match-related interruption. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance
Sync guidance for uploaded videos is not a live-stream remedy: YouTube’s upload troubleshooting covers issues such as tracks of unequal duration and recommends editing before upload. Do not apply that advice as if it established a fix for live A/V drift. YouTube audio and video troubleshooting for uploads
Troubleshooting by symptom
| What you observe | What to check next |
|---|---|
| The preview or local recording is already out of sync. | Investigate source routing and encoder configuration; check the local archive and encoder for errors. |
| The preview or recording is in sync, but YouTube playback is not. | Check timestamped Live Control Room health messages, encoder errors and CPU load, then test the outbound connection. |
| Live Control Room reports an audio-format, stream-count, sample-rate, or bitrate issue. | Check the reported item against YouTube’s audio guidance: one audio stream, 44.1 kHz, and a recommended audio bitrate of 128 Kbps; use a supported codec. |
| Health problems coincide with weak or unstable upload capacity. | Compare total primary and backup stream bitrate with available upload bandwidth; YouTube recommends 20% headroom. |
| The stream is late for viewers, but audio and video remain together. | Treat it as a latency question, not a sync fault. Consider the interaction and buffering trade-offs before changing latency. |
| The stream is interrupted during a song. | Check for a YouTube copyright match or interruption separately from the timing diagnosis; a licence may not remove the need for channel allowlisting. |
