Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can turn cleared podcast episodes into a continuous YouTube Live feed by connecting a prepared audio-and-video playlist to a YouTube broadcast through an encoder. Before launch, settle two separate questions: whether you have rights to every element in the episodes, and how you will preserve complete episode archives. A 24/7 format is a goal, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Choose how the live feed and episodes should work
YouTube treats a broadcast as a distinct video resource bound to a stream that carries the audio and video signal. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation, last updated September 14, 2026, describes both a continuing 24/7 broadcast and separate broadcasts that can share a stream. One stream may be bound to up to three broadcasts; ending a separate interview broadcast need not end the continuing feed. An omitted scheduled end time is treated as continuing indefinitely, but that setting does not keep an encoder, network, or channel free from interruptions. See Google’s LiveBroadcasts API reference and overview of broadcasts and streams.
| Format | Useful when | Plan for |
|---|---|---|
| One continuous broadcast | You want a single always-on destination for a rotating episode feed. | Episodes will not automatically become separate, clearly titled videos just because the playlist advances. Plan independent recordings and uploads if you need a complete, browsable archive. |
| Separate scheduled broadcasts | Episode boundaries, titles, and individual video pages matter more than maintaining one uninterrupted destination. | Each broadcast needs its own schedule and launch/recovery process. You can bind separate broadcasts to the same stream, within YouTube’s documented limit. |
The official sources describe these broadcast structures; they do not establish which format performs better in search or earns more. Decide based on how listeners should find episodes and how much monitoring and recovery you can handle.
Clear the rights before building the rotation
Being the podcast creator does not by itself establish that every element in an episode is cleared for continuous YouTube playback. Check the recording, theme and other music, clips, artwork, and guest contributions. Keep written permissions and licenses with the files they cover.

YouTube Help says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If YouTube detects third-party material, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; if the material remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license is not always enough to prevent that interruption: ask the relevant rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist before launch. Archived streams can also receive Content ID claims after the broadcast. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Prepare episodes, visuals, and a recovery plan
Build and check the playback feed
- Choose episodes you have permission to rebroadcast and arrange them in the intended order. Check the beginning and end of each file, audio levels, and transitions so that a listener does not encounter an accidental silence or an unfinished segment.
- Prepare a video signal to accompany the podcast audio. A static or changing visual can show the show name, the current episode or rotation information, and artwork cleared for use. YouTube requires an incoming audio/video signal for a live broadcast; this visual guidance is a practical presentation choice, not a special format requirement established by the cited sources.
- Make a separate recording of the complete episode files or production output if you need durable, individually usable archive copies. Do not rely on the live broadcast as your only copy.
Choose an encoder you can support
The encoder sends the prepared signal to YouTube. Use suitable software and hardware you already have, or choose an encoder that fits your files, output format, and ability to monitor it. The cited guidance does not make a particular computer, encoder product, or piece of hardware necessary.

Plan for the machine and its network connection to remain available for as long as you operate the feed. Decide who will notice a stopped encoder or a YouTube warning, how they will restart the source, and where the source recording will be kept. Test the restart procedure before treating the channel as an always-on service.
Set up and start the YouTube broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create a new broadcast or schedule one, then set its title, description, and visibility. Use the current YouTube live stream settings guidance if a label or control differs in your account.
- Choose the intended broadcast design: a continuing broadcast, or separate scheduled broadcasts. If using a continuing broadcast, do not set a scheduled end time if your intent is to leave it open-ended. This scheduling choice does not ensure that the stream will remain uninterrupted.
- Copy the stream key from YouTube Studio into your encoder’s stream configuration. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in Studio and update the encoder with the replacement.
- Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives a preview and signal before starting the broadcast. Check the title, visibility, audio, and visual feed in the Live Control Room.
- Once live, monitor stream health and notices. Keep a restart procedure and a local or production-side recording available, and investigate interruptions rather than assuming a loop has recovered correctly.
Keep a complete archive outside the live page
Do not assume a single perpetual broadcast will produce a complete, convenient archive. YouTube’s official production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and advises recording longer streams separately for manual upload. The guide’s publication date is not displayed in the accessed copy, so verify current Studio behavior before relying on automatic archiving for a particular broadcast. The cited guidance does not say that every stream longer than 12 hours will fail to archive.

The LiveBroadcasts API reference says that both enableDvr and enableArchive need to be true for playback immediately after a broadcast ends. Without DVR, archived playback may be delayed by around a day. These API settings concern a broadcast’s playback and archive behavior; they do not replace keeping your own complete episode recordings. See the LiveBroadcasts API reference and YouTube/Google’s live production guidance.
Understand copyright and monetization separately
A live interruption, an archived-video Content ID claim, and a monetization review are different outcomes. Clearing the rights to use material is important, but it does not guarantee uninterrupted playback or monetization. The available YouTube policy text says reused-content rules apply to live streams and are separate from copyright requirements. A loop of your own podcast is not, by itself, a promise of ad revenue: check the current YouTube channel monetization policies and your channel’s eligibility and review status before relying on income.

Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube receives no preview: Check that the encoder is running, that it is configured with the correct stream key, and that the source playlist is producing audio and video. If you replaced or reset the key, update the encoder.
- The broadcast stops or displays a copyright placeholder: Check Studio notices and identify the flagged material. Remove or replace material you cannot use. If it is licensed, contact the rights owner about allowlisting your channel in Content ID; a license alone may not prevent a live interruption.
- The stream is live, but an episode is missing from the archive: Check whether you expected the broadcast itself to create an individual episode video. A continuous rotation is one broadcast, not automatically a set of separately titled episode videos. Use separate scheduled broadcasts or upload the saved episode recording.
- Playback is not available immediately after the broadcast ends: Check the broadcast’s DVR and archive settings. The API reference says both must be enabled for immediate playback and notes that playback without DVR may be delayed around a day.
- A very long stream has no complete archive: Consult current Studio behavior and use the separately recorded output to make a manual upload. The official production guide advises recording streams longer than 12 hours for manual upload; its displayed copy does not show a publication date.
- The feed goes offline unexpectedly: Check encoder and network operation, then inspect Studio for platform or account notices. Restart the encoder and broadcast as needed, verify the preview before considering the service restored, and check the local recording for gaps.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live 24/7. Upload your cleared recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it plays files rather than broadcasting from a camera. Each slot streams your uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. You still need to clear rights and plan a usable episode archive separately. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
