Cancel the subscription with the service that bills it, then revoke any live UPI AutoPay mandate separately. Start in YouTube’s Paid memberships to identify the billing route; cancelling a payment mandate alone does not confirm that the membership itself is cancelled.
First identify who manages the subscription
Sign in to the Google Account you used for the YouTube membership and open youtube.com/paid_memberships. Review the membership and its billing information. You can also check Google Payments for charge details and payment records.
- YouTube cancellation controls: Use these if the membership appears in Paid memberships and YouTube offers a cancellation flow.
- Google Play: Cancel there if YouTube or the billing details show that Google Play manages the subscription.
- Apple: If you started the membership in the YouTube iOS app and Apple bills it, cancel through your Apple account.
- UPI AutoPay: If a live mandate for the merchant appears in your UPI app, revoke it as a separate payment-control step. A UPI mandate does not by itself identify the subscription’s billing manager.
Cancel through YouTube or Google Play
If YouTube manages the membership
- On the web: In Paid memberships, choose Manage membership > Deactivate > Continue to cancel. Select a reason, choose Next, then Yes, cancel.
- On Android: Open Profile picture > Paid memberships, select the membership, then choose Continue to cancel. Select a reason, choose Next, then Yes, cancel.
If Google Play manages the membership
- Open the Google Play Subscriptions page while signed in to the Google Account that owns the subscription.
- Select the YouTube subscription and choose Cancel subscription.
- Follow the prompts and verify the subscription’s status in Google Play.
If it is not listed, check other Google Accounts you use. Google Play cancellation must be done from the account that holds the subscription. Uninstalling the YouTube app does not cancel it.
Revoke a live UPI AutoPay mandate separately
If the relevant mandate is in Google Pay, open Profile picture > AutoPay > Live, select the mandate, choose Cancel autopay, and enter your UPI PIN. Check that the mandate status updates. Menu labels can vary by app version. Google Pay’s instructions describe how to revoke a mandate; they do not establish that every YouTube UPI payment uses a Google Pay mandate.

For another UPI app, use its mandate or AutoPay controls to check and revoke the relevant live mandate. Then confirm the membership cancellation with the subscription’s billing manager. Revoking a mandate stops debits under that mandate, but is not proof that the service subscription has been cancelled.
Verify the cancellation and check your billing details
Return to YouTube Paid memberships and confirm the membership shows as cancelled. If you cancelled through Google Play, verify there too. If the charge or account is unclear, YouTube directs Android users to Profile picture > Purchases and memberships and the membership details to see the next billing date, price, and payment method. Receipts are available under Activity at payments.google.com.

What happens after cancellation
YouTube says paid benefits continue through the end of the current billing period, and states: “When you cancel your membership, you won’t be charged again unless you re-subscribe.” — YouTube Help, Cancel YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium.
