Use a plain, accurate label such as “24/7 replay of [creator or channel]’s archived [game] videos.” Name whose footage it is, identify the game when useful, and call it a “live replay” or “archive stream” only if that describes what viewers see. Say “official” only when the channel is controlled or authorized by the creator or rights holder.
Choose wording that tells viewers what the stream is
A good label answers three questions: whose videos are playing, what they show, and whether this is a continuous replay. Adapt this example to the facts:
24/7 replay of [creator/channel]’s archived [game] videos
- If you created the footage, identify it as your own archive accurately.
- If someone else created it, identify that creator or channel and do not imply the footage is your original work.
- Name the game if it helps viewers understand the stream.
- Use “live replay” or “archive stream” only when the format is genuinely a continuous replay of recorded videos.
- Avoid “official,” “authorized,” or language suggesting endorsement unless that status is true.
Use the label consistently across the channel
YouTube says monetization reviewers may consider a channel’s theme, video titles and descriptions, and About section. Use those fields to explain the same basic facts clearly: who made the gameplay, what game it shows, and that the channel continuously replays archived videos. Consistent metadata helps explain the format; it does not establish who owns the footage or whether you have permission to use it.

Separate copyright permission from monetization eligibility
Permission to use footage does not guarantee monetization
YouTube treats reused-content monetization eligibility as distinct from copyright. Its guidance says material already available online may be considered reused when it is republished without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. The policy may affect a channel even when the uploader has permission from the original creator. Reviewers may also assess whether the creator’s contribution is clear. A replay label does not make repetitive content eligible
YouTube announced on July 15, 2025, that it was renaming its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content” to clarify its application to repetitive or mass-produced material; the announcement said the reused-content policy did not change. A factual label can describe a replay, but it cannot by itself demonstrate originality, meaningful variation, or monetization eligibility. Check YouTube’s current monetization guidance.

Gameplay and third-party material have their own rights requirements
Commercial-use rights for gameplay can depend on the game publisher’s terms. YouTube cautions that simply showing gameplay for extended periods may not be accepted for monetization without appropriate licensing; instructional commentary tied to live action is one example of a potentially qualifying context. Review the specific publisher’s terms before streaming. YouTube’s game and software content guidance.
YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights. Its systems scan livestreams for third-party content; a match may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Check the label before going live
- Identify the footage’s creator. Confirm whether it is your gameplay or another creator’s archive.
- Describe the format. Say “24/7 replay,” “continuous replay,” or “archive stream” if the channel loops recorded videos.
- Name the game where useful. Keep the wording specific without implying publisher endorsement.
- Verify authorization and rights separately. Check the creator’s permission, publisher terms for gameplay, and rights for music or other third-party material.
- Review channel-wide presentation. Make sure titles, descriptions, and the About section do not contradict the label or misstate authorship or authorization.
