Can I stream prerecorded gameplay on YouTube Live 24/7?
YouTube supports encoder-based live streaming for gameplay. Its live-streaming guidance describes encoders as tools for streaming gameplay, overlays, and hardware inputs. An encoder can send prerecorded video as the live feed; YouTube’s support for encoder streams does not itself grant permission to rebroadcast a particular game or soundtrack.

Check YouTube eligibility before preparing the stream
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the person starting the stream must be at least 16. Enable live streaming ahead of your planned launch so there is time to resolve an eligibility or activation issue. These are YouTube’s stated platform requirements; the sources cited here do not establish a separate India-specific technical requirement.
How to loop gaming VODs on YouTube Live from India with a local encoder
This route requires a computer that remains on and connected for the full stream. YouTube supports encoder streaming but does not prescribe a particular PC model. Choose hardware and an internet connection suitable for sending your own video files continuously; the exact encoding settings depend on the encoder and stream configuration.

- Prepare eligible recordings. Collect the VODs you have permission to broadcast and make a playlist or repeatable sequence in your encoder. Check game footage and audio rights separately before adding each file.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream and select the encoder workflow. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions for the live-control interface and stream connection details.
- Copy the stream key into your encoder. Use the key and server details shown for that event in YouTube Studio. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send video to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Load and configure the VOD feed. Set the encoder to play the chosen recordings in the intended order or loop, then configure its output for the YouTube event. Use the current values and instructions shown by YouTube and your encoder; there is no bitrate, resolution, or keyframe value established here that applies to every setup.
- Preview, then go live. Check that both video and audio are present and that the correct stream is selected. Start the encoder, confirm the preview and stream health in Live Control Room, and begin the live event when the feed is ready.
- Plan for interruptions and long runs. Keep the computer powered, prevent it from sleeping, and account for internet or encoder failures and the need to restart. Monitor the event after launch rather than assuming the feed will recover from every interruption.
Rights: confirm the game and soundtrack permissions
YouTube’s video game and software content guidance says game publishers’ commercial-use licences determine whether gameplay can be monetized. It warns that extended gameplay without an appropriate licence may not be accepted for monetization; step-by-step commentary tied to the action can be relevant. This is YouTube’s platform guidance, not a ruling on Indian copyright law. Because no specific game or publisher is identified, there is no game-specific permission conclusion here.
Check the publisher’s current policy for the game and the licence terms for any music in the VOD. A game’s permission does not necessarily cover separately licensed music, and technical ability to stream a recording does not establish a right to rebroadcast it. If the relevant terms do not clearly allow your planned use, do not assume a 24/7 loop is permitted.

Will YouTube save a 24-hour live stream as a VOD?
Do not rely on YouTube to archive a continuous 24-hour event. YouTube’s archive guidance says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a replay, keep a local recording and plan shorter segments rather than assuming one uninterrupted stream will become a complete VOD.
24/7 streaming does not guarantee monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams as well as other content. The policy identifies repetitive or mass-produced material and reused content without meaningful original contribution as potential monetization problems. On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified and renamed “repetitious content” as “inauthentic content.”

Permission to rebroadcast a game or recording does not by itself establish that a channel meets YouTube’s originality and authenticity requirements. A loop does not guarantee YouTube Partner Program acceptance, revenue, or a particular watch-hour result. Describe the footage accurately as prerecorded; do not imply a real-time match or player interaction that is not happening.

- You cannot start the stream: Check that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, there is no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer meets YouTube’s stated minimum age.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Confirm the event’s stream key and server details in Live Control Room, make sure the encoder is connected to that event, and check its connection status. If a key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The video or audio is missing in preview: Check the selected playlist or file, encoder output, and audio source, then confirm the preview before starting the event.
- The local stream stops unexpectedly: Check computer power and sleep settings, internet connectivity, and whether the encoder needs a manual restart or reconnect. A local setup depends on the computer and connection staying available.
- The stream ends but no complete archive appears: For a stream over 12 hours, YouTube says capture is not assured. Keep local recordings and divide the planned broadcast into shorter events if YouTube’s archive matters.
- A VOD raises a rights or monetization concern: Review the game publisher’s commercial-use terms and the music rights for that recording; YouTube’s gameplay and channel monetization guidance address separate questions.
