Schedule your Talk Studio stream
- Open Schedule. In Talk Studio, select Schedule or use the keyboard shortcut Shift+J.
- Start a schedule. Select + Schedule.
- Choose destinations and format. Select the platform or platforms where you want to broadcast, then choose Live-stream or Pre-recorded video.
- Enter event information. Add the stream title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail.
- Save and verify. Confirm the success notification. It may provide guest invitation links and shareable promotion links; save or share the links you need.
Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, says you can schedule up to 50 days in advance. Platform options and limits may change, so check the current interface before relying on a destination-specific setting.
Enter the studio and start at the scheduled time
- Open Schedule and find the event.
- Select Enter Studio. If guests are joining, enter the studio before inviting them.
- Prepare your broadcast, then select Go Live or press Shift+Enter when you are ready to start.
- If you entered the studio but are not ready to broadcast, use Schedule again to leave the studio rather than going live.
Streamlabs says to start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Its guide also says that an event whose scheduled date and time have already passed cannot be started: delete it and create a new schedule instead.
Know what viewers can see before the stream
Talk Studio’s scheduling guide distinguishes platforms that create advance event links from those that are channel-based. According to Streamlabs’ guide, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn create event links; Twitter and Twitch do not create advance event links. A scheduled stream to Twitter or Twitch therefore does not provide the same kind of event page to share ahead of time.

Facebook does not show upcoming events on the main feed by default. After scheduling, open the Facebook Event and choose Share > Share to Feed if you want to promote it there. This Facebook-specific instruction and the 15-minute start window are published in Streamlabs’ Facebook guidance.
Scheduling limits and destination rules
- Do not remove destinations after scheduling, according to Streamlabs’ scheduling guide.
- Facebook: Streamlabs says a scheduled stream can have at most 10 destinations.
- LinkedIn: Streamlabs says the limit is 10 streams within a 24-hour window.
- Custom RTMP: Streamlabs’ guide says custom RTMP destinations are not supported for scheduling.
- Missed time: If the scheduled date and time have passed, the guide says to delete the event and create a new one.
These are Streamlabs-published operational limits, not universal platform rules. The scheduling article was last updated April 25, 2025; confirm the current Talk Studio interface and platform permissions if a setting or limit differs.

If you schedule a pre-recorded video
When you choose Pre-recorded video, Streamlabs’ published scheduling guidance states a maximum file size of 5 GB. It lists a maximum duration of one hour for Standard or two hours for Pro/Ultra. These are plan-specific limits from that guide and may change as Talk Studio plans or upload rules change; check the current plan details before preparing a file that is close to either limit.
Prepare your browser, connection, and equipment
Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs’ getting-started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, recommends Chrome or Safari, a stable internet connection (preferably Ethernet), and at least 5 Mbps upload speed. Its resolution guidance gives these upload targets:

Those figures are Streamlabs’ guidance, not a guarantee that a connection will remain stable; other network use and connection quality can affect the result. A microphone and camera are preparation choices for a live broadcast, not prerequisites for creating a schedule. Use the equipment you need for the kind of stream you are hosting.

The schedule will not save
- Check that the selected destinations are still connected and authorized.
- If Facebook is involved, Streamlabs recommends reviewing Facebook Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app when scheduling fails.
- Confirm that the date is within the 50-day scheduling window described in Streamlabs’ guide, and check destination-specific limits.
The stream is not visible on Facebook
Open the created Facebook Event and use Share > Share to Feed. Facebook does not display upcoming events on the main feed by default, according to Streamlabs’ Facebook guidance.

The event time has passed
Streamlabs says a scheduled stream cannot be started after its scheduled date and time have passed. Delete that schedule and create a new one for a future time; for a live broadcast, enter the studio and start within the stated 15-minute window.
A destination has no event link
That may be expected: Streamlabs’ guide says Twitter and Twitch are channel-based and do not create advance event links. Share your channel through the platform’s available promotion options instead.
