There is no reliable universal monthly cost without the exact ThinkCentre Tiny model and its measured power draw. For a 30-day month, a computer drawing continuously at P watts uses P × 720 ÷ 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh). Multiply that by your marginal electricity price per kWh to estimate the PC’s electricity cost.

The figures below are arithmetic scenarios, not measurements or specifications for a ThinkCentre Tiny. They assume a flat electricity rate of $0.15 per kWh; substitute your measured wall draw and local rate for a useful estimate.

These estimates cover the computer alone. They exclude internet service, an external display, camera, lighting, audio equipment, backup power, and other devices. If your electricity tariff changes by time of day, calculate usage in each rate period separately.
Why the exact ThinkCentre Tiny matters
“ThinkCentre Tiny” covers different models and configurations, and the title does not identify one. The available Lenovo figures here refer to a separate accessory: the ThinkCentre Tiny-In-One 24 Gen 5 monitor lists 14 W typical and 34 W maximum power consumption. Those are monitor figures, not the power draw of the Tiny PC. The monitor page describes compatibility with fourth-generation and later ThinkCentre Tiny and ThinkStation Tiny computers.

Do not treat an AC adapter’s maximum rating as the computer’s usual consumption either. To estimate the PC’s actual electricity cost, measure its power at the wall while it is doing the work you intend to leave running.
How to measure and calculate your monthly cost
- Identify the computer. Note the exact model, generation, processor, and configuration. This helps you compare like with like, but a measured reading is still needed for a dependable cost estimate.
- Measure the intended setup. Use a plug-in electricity meter to check wall draw while the encoder streams at your chosen resolution and frame rate with representative video and audio. Include peripherals only if they will also stay powered. A meter that records kWh over a representative period can directly capture variation in the workload.
- Convert watts to monthly energy. For constant draw over a 30-day month, use
watts × 720 ÷ 1,000 = kWh. For example, 10 W continuously is 7.2 kWh. If your meter gives total kWh over a shorter representative interval, scale that usage to the period you want to estimate. - Apply your electricity rate. Multiply the monthly kWh by the marginal rate charged for additional consumption. For a time-of-use tariff, calculate each time period using its own rate and add the results.
- Keep other costs separate. The result is the computer’s electricity cost, not the cost of the entire streaming setup. Add other devices or services separately if you want a broader household or operating-cost total.
Check the stream settings and connection before leaving it unattended
Power is only one part of running a 24/7 stream. YouTube’s encoder recommendations depend on codec, resolution, and frame rate. Its current guidance lists 5–14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p/30 fps; check the YouTube encoder settings for the configuration you actually choose. YouTube also advises testing with representative audio and movement and monitoring stream health.

Your upload connection needs enough capacity for the outgoing stream. YouTube recommends leaving a 20% margin above total stream bitrate and checking both upload speed and network reliability in its bandwidth guidance. Create a YouTube stream key and enter it in the encoder using the steps on YouTube’s live stream settings page; stream settings can be reused. Test the complete setup before depending on it for unattended operation.
