What’s actually slowing this PC down?

If your upload speed is low or unstable, start by testing 720p at 30 fps with a bitrate your connection can sustain. YouTube’s current H.264 guidance lists 3 Mbps as the minimum and 8 Mbps as recommended for 720p30. For 1080p30, it lists 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended; those minimums are encoder settings, not guarantees of a stable stream. Measure your upload at the streaming location, test with your actual playlist, and keep 1080p only if stream health stays good.
Which bitrate should you try first?
For a Gujarati devotional playlist on a constrained connection, use 720p30 as the first test rather than jumping straight to 1080p60. YouTube Help’s dynamically maintained encoder guidance, checked in 2026, lists these H.264 settings:
| Output | Listed minimum video bitrate | Recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s encoder bitrate figures, not speed-test thresholds or promises that an internet connection will carry a stream reliably. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate; it does not publish a universal spare-bandwidth percentage that guarantees stability. Keep the video bitrate and the actual upload-speed test result distinct, and judge the setting by a representative test and YouTube’s stream health indicator.
A devotional playlist does not have a special bitrate exemption. Static imagery may require less visual detail to encode than fast movement, but YouTube does not publish a lower bitrate rule for Gujarati music, devotional content, or low-motion visuals.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Measure the connection where you will stream
- Run a speed test at the streaming location and time. YouTube Help explicitly recommends a speed test to test upload bitrate. Repeat it if your connection varies; a single result does not establish sustained capacity.
- Choose a conservative starting output. Begin with 720p30 and a bitrate the connection can sustain. YouTube’s 3 Mbps minimum is a floor in its encoder guidance, not a reliability guarantee. If 1080p matters, test 1080p30 before considering 1080p60.
- Use a representative playlist segment. Test with the actual audio, artwork or video, transitions, and movement. A still image over music can behave differently from a video with motion.
- Check stream health during the test. If transmission is unstable, lower the video bitrate or resolution and test again. Do not keep a higher setting merely because it appears in the recommended column.
Configure the encoder and audio
- Rate control: use constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: set a 2-second interval and do not exceed 4 seconds.
- Protocol and video codec: YouTube lists RTMP or RTMPS and H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 as supported. It recommends RTMPS, the secure RTMP extension.
- Audio: YouTube lists 128 kbps as the recommended stereo audio bitrate and AAC or MP3 as supported audio codecs. Include audio in the outgoing stream load when assessing available upload capacity.
Follow the bitrate row for the codec you actually use. YouTube’s guidance lists the following 1080p alternatives:
| Codec and output | Listed minimum video bitrate | Recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265, 1080p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| AV1 or H.265, 1080p at 60 fps | 4 Mbps | 12 Mbps |
A codec with a lower listed bitrate does not fix weak or fluctuating internet. Confirm your encoder supports the selected codec and test that exact configuration over the connection you will use.

Choose resolution, frame rate, and latency based on the stream
1080p or 720p
Stay at 1080p only if a real test at the chosen frame rate and bitrate remains stable. If it does not, step down to 720p30 or reduce bitrate and test again. A lower resolution that holds steadily is more useful than a 1080p setting that repeatedly loses transmission.
30 fps or 60 fps
For a playlist with limited movement, 30 fps is a reasonable first test; 60 fps raises the listed H.264 1080p recommendation from 14 Mbps to 17 Mbps. Use 60 fps only if the visuals benefit and the measured connection and test support it.

Normal or lower latency
For a playlist that does not depend on real-time audience interaction, normal latency is a sensible starting mode. YouTube notes that lower latency can cause more playback buffering and is less important when the streamer is not interacting with viewers. See YouTube Help’s live stream settings guidance.
Check rights and channel suitability before looping music
Having a video file does not by itself establish that you have the rights needed to broadcast its music or visuals. Confirm that you are authorized to use every recording, composition, image, and video in the playlist on YouTube Live. YouTube’s encoder recommendations do not determine whether a playlist is eligible for monetization or complies with YouTube policies; check the platform’s current rules for your channel and content before scheduling a continuous stream.

Troubleshoot an unstable 1080p stream
| Symptom | What to check | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| Stream health deteriorates or transmission drops | Whether the tested upload capacity is sustained at the streaming location; the selected video bitrate and audio load | Lower bitrate or resolution, then run the representative test again. |
| 1080p30 is unstable | Whether the stream is set to the 1080p30 bitrate for its codec and whether the connection can sustain it | Try 720p30 or a lower bitrate that remains stable in testing. |
| 1080p60 is unstable while 30 fps works | Frame rate and its corresponding bitrate recommendation | Use 1080p30 if it passes the test; otherwise use 720p30. |
| Playback buffers despite a healthy-looking encoder setting | Whether lower latency is enabled and whether immediate interaction is actually needed | For a non-interactive playlist, try normal latency; lower latency can increase playback buffering. |
| Changing codec does not improve reliability | The actual upload stability, not just the codec’s bitrate row | Test the chosen codec on the same connection; reduce resolution or bitrate if transmission remains unstable. |
