Phone verification is required for YouTube live streaming, but it does not always unlock a first stream immediately. YouTube says a first mobile live stream may take up to 24 hours after you turn live streaming on. Check the correct channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio, then work through the steps below. YouTube’s published guidance does not establish a separate activation rule for Indian channels.
First, identify where the problem is happening
The fix depends on whether you are still trying to receive a verification code or have already verified your phone and are waiting for live access. It also matters whether you are streaming from a phone or using a computer, webcam, or encoder: the 50-subscriber threshold cited by YouTube applies to mobile live streaming.
- Code not received: troubleshoot phone verification itself.
- Code accepted, but live is unavailable: check the channel’s feature status and any live-streaming eligibility restrictions.
- Streaming from mobile: check the additional mobile requirements, including at least 50 subscribers.
Phone verification enables live streaming, but it does not override a channel restriction or other eligibility requirement. See YouTube’s verification guidance and live-streaming tips.
Check live-streaming eligibility in YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio using the account associated with the channel you want to stream from.
- Open Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility.
- Confirm that you are checking the intended channel and review whether live streaming is enabled. YouTube says this page shows which features are enabled; some features may have separate requirements. See YouTube’s feature eligibility information.
- If live streaming is unavailable, check for any live-streaming restrictions shown for the channel before trying to start another stream.
Verifying a phone number is not the same as confirming that every feature is enabled. If you manage multiple channels, check the eligibility page for the specific channel you intend to use.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Allow time for the first activation
If this is the first time you have turned on live streaming, wait up to 24 hours before concluding that activation has failed. YouTube’s mobile instructions say: “For your first mobile live stream: Starting your first live stream may take up to 24 hours.” This is the published window for a first mobile stream, not a guarantee that every individual case will be resolved within that time. See Create a live stream on mobile.
Do not treat a completed phone verification as proof that the first-stream wait has already elapsed. If live streaming remains unavailable after the documented window, continue with the eligibility checks and escalation options below.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Check requirements for mobile streaming
If you are trying to stream directly from the YouTube mobile app, YouTube lists these requirements:
- At least 50 subscribers.
- A verified channel.
- No live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- Live streaming turned on.
These mobile requirements are separate from the first-stream activation wait. A channel below 50 subscribers may not be eligible to stream from mobile even if its phone number is verified. YouTube’s guidance also calls out verification and the absence of recent live-streaming restrictions in its general live-streaming tips.

If the verification code never arrived
These steps apply only if you are stuck before phone verification completes. YouTube says some operators may not support Google texts or calls, and delivery can be delayed. Try a voice call or a number from another operator. YouTube also limits a phone number to verification of no more than two channels per year. Those code-delivery issues do not explain a delay after a code has already been accepted. See YouTube’s verification guidance.
What Indian creators should—and should not—assume
YouTube’s mobile live-streaming page lists India as a country where mobile Playables can be live-streamed. That listing is about Playables; it is not presented as a special rule for ordinary live streaming or as an explanation for activation delays. The published guidance reviewed here does not establish an India-only phone-verification rule or a separate activation queue for Indian channels.

If live streaming is still unavailable
- Reopen YouTube Studio → Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility and confirm the status for the right channel.
- Check whether you are using mobile streaming and, if so, whether the channel meets the mobile subscriber and restriction requirements.
- If this is a first activation, allow the official wait of up to 24 hours described in YouTube’s mobile instructions.
- If the feature still appears unavailable despite those checks, use YouTube’s Send feedback route or contact Creator Support if your channel is eligible. YouTube does not publish a guaranteed resolution time for an individual eligibility issue.
Some YouTube Community replies recommend waiting as long as 48 hours, but that is community advice, not an official activation deadline. Do not treat it as a promise that access will be restored by then. See the relevant YouTube Community discussion and another community discussion.

StreamNeo is for keeping an eligible YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos; it cannot unlock YouTube live access, satisfy a mobile subscriber threshold, or remove a channel restriction. Once your channel is eligible, the setup is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the video in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
