To repeat a broadcast, reuse a saved draft or duplicate the event, update its date and details, and schedule a new occurrence.
Schedule a prerecorded YouTube stream in Restream
Restream’s prerecorded-video workflow creates an event from an uploaded recording or an existing video. The scheduled broadcast starts automatically, even if you are offline; you can monitor the stream and chat, but you do not need to start the prerecorded broadcast yourself. Restream describes the feature this way: “Pre-recorded events easily turn your recorded videos into live streams. Plus, the stream will begin automatically, even when you’re offline.” (Restream Help Center)
- From Restream’s home screen, select New Stream, then Pre-recorded livestream and Video.
- Choose a video from Uploads or Recordings, or upload a video from your computer or mobile device.
- Enter the event title, description, date, and time. Choose a thumbnail if you want one; Restream recommends 1280 × 720 pixels.
- If you want an announcement to appear before the broadcast, enable Create an event post in advance during setup.
- Select YouTube as a destination and create the event. Check the date, time, video, and destination before scheduling.
Restream’s prerecorded-video instructions are at Schedule your video as a pre-recorded event. YouTube is among the platforms that can have an advance event post; available advance-post destinations are not the same for every platform.
How to repeat the schedule
Restream documents reusing a draft or duplicating an event, not an automatic repeating calendar interval for prerecorded events. Treat each broadcast as a separate scheduled occurrence: create the next event from the reusable setup, change its date and any details that differ, verify YouTube is selected, and schedule it again.

- Open the saved draft or use the event-duplication option to reuse the previous setup.
- Set the new date and time, and update the title, description, video, or thumbnail if needed.
- Confirm YouTube is selected as a destination, then schedule the new event.
- Review any advance announcement created for the new event. If you unschedule an event, previously created posts on supported platforms are not automatically removed, so remove an obsolete announcement separately if necessary.
Restream explains draft reuse in Reuse your stream drafts and event scheduling and duplication in Schedule your stream with Restream. YouTube also lets creators reuse settings from a previous scheduled stream. An upcoming scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can choose Notify me; that reminder option does not make the event recur automatically. Do not confuse a repeated event with a looping video
A recurring schedule means creating separate events for separate dates. Restream’s optional video looping instead repeats one prerecorded video within an event, up to 10 times, and requires its Marathon or Media add-on according to its help documentation. Looping is not a way to schedule future YouTube events. Details are in What is Upload & Stream?

Restream also warns that a YouTube event can only go live once. Do not start the scheduled event early just to test it; make a separate test setup, and create a new event for the next broadcast. See Create a YouTube Live Event with Restream.
Choose the right workflow and check plan limits
Restream distinguishes prerecorded uploads from live sessions made through Studio or an encoder. A prerecorded event suits an already-finished video that should start at a set time. A live Studio or encoder session is for broadcasting a live production instead. Compare the options in Choose how to go live with Restream.

Restream says prerecorded streaming is available to all users, but storage, file-size limits, resolution, looping access, and thumbnail branding depend on the plan or add-on. Its help page lists the following add-ons and terms; these prices and plan details may change, so check the current offer before subscribing:

Keep the video and event ready for viewers
- Confirm the selected recording. A successful schedule is only useful if the intended video is selected and available in your library.
- Check timing and event details. Verify the time zone as displayed in the scheduling interface, along with the title, description, and thumbnail.
- Decide whether to announce in advance. Enable the advance event post during setup if you want a supported platform to show an announcement before the broadcast. YouTube scheduled events can be upcoming and offer a viewer reminder.
- Review rights before streaming. Make sure you have the rights needed for the video and any included music or other material. Scheduling a recording does not grant permission to rebroadcast it.
Troubleshooting recurring prerecorded events
The next broadcast did not happen automatically
Check whether you created a new event for that date. Reusing or duplicating the setup does not itself create a repeating schedule; each occurrence must be scheduled as its own event.
The event is scheduled but the wrong video or destination is selected
Open the event setup and verify the chosen library video and YouTube destination before scheduling. When duplicating an event, confirm that the reused details still match the next broadcast.

The event cannot be restarted after a test
Restream’s YouTube-specific guidance says an event can only go live once. Use a separate test event, then schedule a fresh event for the intended broadcast.
The video will not fit the library allowance
Check the storage and file-size terms for your current Restream plan or add-on. The listed library hours and maximum resolutions vary by add-on; do not assume the limits are identical across tiers.
An old announcement remains after unscheduling
Restream says that unscheduling an event does not automatically remove advance posts already created on supported platforms. Remove the outdated announcement separately where it was posted.
