To run prerecorded video on a 24/7 YouTube channel, schedule audio in Airtime Pro only if you need it for a separate radio production, then use a video encoder or cloud video-streaming service to send the video to YouTube.
What Airtime Pro can—and cannot—do for this workflow
Airtime Pro is an internet-radio automation platform. Its documented playlists contain audio media and can be added to scheduled shows. Airtime Pro’s feature page lists MP3, Ogg, WAV, FLAC, and AAC support, while its support information describes an audio output for a station and integration with third-party live playout software. Those documents do not establish a direct Airtime Pro workflow for sending video playlists to YouTube Live.
That distinction matters for a gaming channel: scheduling an audio show in Airtime Pro does not create or schedule a YouTube video playlist, and the documented live-playout integration should not be treated as a video handoff. The steps below cover Airtime Pro’s audio scheduling, followed by YouTube’s separate encoder workflow for video.
Schedule an audio playlist in Airtime Pro
- Set the station timezone. In Airtime Pro, configure the station timezone in Settings before adding shows. Each user can also set an interface timezone in their profile, so users can work in local time while the station retains its own timezone.
- Upload audio. Use the Upload area to add media to the library. Airtime Pro lists MP3, Ogg, WAV, FLAC, and AAC among its supported audio formats.
- Create a show in Calendar. Choose a date, enter the show name and time, and add it. Airtime Pro also documents repeating calendar events and show linking.
- Build and save a playlist. Choose Playlist in the dashboard, name the playlist, drag audio from the library into it, and save. Saved playlists can be reused or edited later.
- Add that playlist to the scheduled show. Open the show in Calendar, choose Add/Remove Content, locate the saved playlist in the library, and drag it into the show’s scheduled content.
This creates scheduled audio programming in Airtime Pro. It can be useful alongside a video channel—for example, if you also operate a radio simulcast—but it does not put video on YouTube.

Send prerecorded video to YouTube Live with an encoder
YouTube defines an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. The video playlist must be played by an encoder workflow separate from Airtime Pro, with that encoder connected to the YouTube live stream.
- Enable live streaming if necessary. YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so complete that step before the day you plan to launch.
- Create or schedule a live stream in YouTube Studio. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream or schedule one. Open its stream settings to obtain the YouTube stream URL and stream key.
- Configure your video encoder. Choose a software or hardware encoder that can play the prerecorded video continuously. Enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key in the encoder’s connection settings. The encoder—not Airtime Pro—must handle video playback and delivery.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Start its output, then confirm that the incoming video appears in YouTube Live Control Room. Check that the picture and audio are correct before making the stream public.
- Go live in YouTube Live Control Room. When the preview is ready and you intend to start the broadcast, use the go-live control there. Keep the encoder’s playback running for as long as the channel should remain live.
YouTube’s encoder guidance names the AJA HELO Plus as a hardware option and describes its optional PlayToStream functionality for scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. That is a separate encoder product, not an Airtime Pro integration. YouTube also lists software encoder options; select one based on whether you need scheduled prerecorded playback, whether a computer can remain on, and how you will monitor and restart the stream.

Choose the right setup for a continuous gaming channel

For any encoder, protect the stream key as a credential: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to that broadcast. Use the key associated with the intended YouTube stream and avoid publishing it in screenshots, public documents, or chat.
Check YouTube rights and channel rules before looping video
A successful encoder connection does not grant permission to broadcast the content. For a gaming channel, verify that you have rights to the gameplay footage, music, overlays, and any other included material, and check the game publisher’s streaming policy where relevant. A video that is permitted to appear in an ordinary upload is not automatically cleared for continuous retransmission.

Also consider how repeated prerecorded content fits YouTube’s channel and monetization policies. A 24/7 loop is a programming format, not a guarantee of monetization or policy eligibility. Review YouTube’s current rules for copyright and reused or repetitive content before building a channel around repeated footage.
Troubleshooting a 24/7 encoder stream
- No preview in Live Control Room: Confirm that the encoder is running, that the stream URL and key belong to the intended YouTube broadcast, and that the encoder reports an active connection. Re-enter the key carefully if needed.
- Stream appears in preview but is not public: The encoder connection and YouTube’s go-live action are distinct. Check the Live Control Room status and start the broadcast there when ready.
- Video stops when the computer shuts down: A software encoder running on that computer cannot continue playing from it after it loses power or network access. Keep the machine and connection available, use a dedicated hardware encoder that supports the required playback, or use a cloud service.
- Airtime Pro shows the scheduled audio but YouTube has no video: That is consistent with the documented separation: Airtime Pro’s playlist scheduling is audio-radio programming. Configure a video encoder independently rather than expecting the Airtime Pro show to transfer video.
- First stream cannot be enabled immediately: YouTube notes that first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours. Enable it in advance instead of troubleshooting an encoder that has not yet been authorized for live streaming.
- Playback does not continue as expected: Verify the encoder’s repeat or playlist behavior and monitor both the encoder and YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s cited encoder guidance does not establish identical looping controls for every software or hardware product.
