If OneStream Live shows your YouTube account as disconnected, open Social Platforms, find YouTube, and choose Reconnect. If the account reconnects but the broadcast still does not appear on YouTube, check the event’s destination, the encoder signal, and YouTube’s Live Control Room workflow; those are separate parts of the setup.
Reconnect YouTube in OneStream Live
On the web app
- Open Social Platforms.
- Click the three-dot menu next to the disconnected YouTube platform.
- Select Reconnect and complete any authorization prompts shown.
OneStream says the platform is ready to use after reconnection. The precise authorization prompts can depend on the account and may change; follow the controls shown in your app.
In the mobile app
- Tap More at the bottom right.
- Choose Social Platforms, then select YouTube.
- Tap Reconnect in the pop-up and complete any prompts.
If the account reconnects but the stream still fails
A connected YouTube account does not, by itself, prove that a particular broadcast is directed to YouTube or that OneStream is receiving an encoder feed. Use the symptom to narrow down which layer needs attention.
1. Confirm YouTube is selected as the destination
For encoder streaming, open Encoder Streaming, choose the stream key or event, then select Set Destinations. Make sure the intended YouTube destination is selected and save. A destination that is not selected for the event will not receive that event’s broadcast.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Check whether OneStream is receiving the encoder signal
In Encoder Streaming, verify that your encoder is sending to OneStream. Open Signal in the right sidebar and check Encoder Status. OneStream describes this status as an indication of whether its stream is active. If it shows offline, check that the encoder is using the current OneStream stream key and connection settings, and confirm that the encoder is actually sending.
3. Check YouTube’s encoder workflow
When connecting an encoder directly to YouTube, YouTube’s workflow uses a stream URL and stream key in the encoder. Start the encoder; for a scheduled-stream workflow, wait for the preview in YouTube Live Control Room before selecting Go live. The controls differ by event workflow, so use the instructions shown for that specific event. If OneStream is acting as the intermediary, distinguish its incoming encoder signal from the YouTube event’s own preview and go-live controls.

4. Check authorization, settings, service availability, and network
- Authorization or permissions: If the YouTube platform has disconnected again, revisit Social Platforms and reconnect it. Check that the account and permissions are the ones you intend to use.
- Keys and destination settings: Confirm the current stream key and URL where applicable, and verify the YouTube destination is selected for the event.
- Platform availability: Check whether the service is available before treating an outage as a configuration problem.
- Network or encoder strain: If the encoder reports dropped frames or the computer is under heavy CPU load, OneStream’s troubleshooting guidance includes lowering resolution, frame rate, or bitrate. For a local network stability issue, Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi may help; it will not restore revoked account authorization.
- Restart: Restarting the encoder software and computer is another troubleshooting step when the encoder or local setup appears stuck.
Identify the failure layer before changing settings
| What you observe | What to check first |
|---|---|
| YouTube is marked disconnected in OneStream | Reconnect YouTube under Social Platforms. |
| YouTube is connected, but the event is not reaching it | Check Set Destinations for that event and save the selected YouTube destination. |
| OneStream’s encoder status is offline | Check that the encoder is sending to OneStream and that its key and connection settings are current. |
| OneStream receives a signal, but a scheduled YouTube event is not live | Check the event’s YouTube workflow and look for its preview in Live Control Room before selecting Go live, when that workflow requires it. |
| The feed is unstable or dropping frames | Check the local network and encoder load; consider Ethernet or reducing resolution, frame rate, or bitrate if the evidence points to network instability or high CPU use. |
Use a backup stream key for encoder interruptions
OneStream documents a Backup Stream Key that can take over automatically if the primary encoder stream disconnects. Set up the backup key and URL in the encoder. For a smoother handoff, OneStream recommends that the primary and backup streams be synchronized or closely aligned. If the backup fails, OneStream warns that the system will not automatically switch back to the primary stream. This is a resilience option for encoder-originated interruptions; it does not reauthorize a disconnected YouTube account.

If your goal is to keep uploaded videos running as a YouTube live stream, rather than repair an existing OneStream connection, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running without leaving a computer on at home; it supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos and streams to YouTube; it does not reconnect or reauthorize your OneStream account. Start the free first day.
