NVENC और x264 में क्या फर्क है?
- NVENC: संगत NVIDIA GPU के hardware encoder से वीडियो encode करता है। OBS के अनुसार hardware encoding आम तौर पर performance के लिए बेहतर रहती है, क्योंकि encoding का workload CPU से GPU के विशेष component पर चला जाता है।
- x264: CPU पर software encoding करता है। यह तब उपयोगी विकल्प है जब NVENC उपलब्ध न हो, या आपका CPU पर्याप्त क्षमता रखता हो और आपके परीक्षण में x264 बेहतर या अधिक स्थिर परिणाम दे।
पुराने hardware encoders समान bitrate पर x264 के default veryfast preset से कम image quality दे सकते हैं; GPU encoder की पीढ़ी मायने रखती है। OBS Project की Hardware Encoding guide (11 जनवरी 2022) GeForce 750 Ti, 900-series (Maxwell) या नए GPU को न्यूनतम पीढ़ी बताती है और बेहतर परिणाम के लिए Turing या नए का सुझाव देती है। यह पुरानी guide है, पूरी वर्तमान compatibility सूची नहीं; खरीद या संगतता के निर्णय से पहले वर्तमान OBS और NVIDIA जानकारी जाँचें।
Playlist stream के लिए चुनाव कैसे करें
OBS playlist का वीडियो YouTube को भेजने से पहले encode करता है। इसलिए playlist source अपने-आप NVENC या x264 का चुनाव नहीं बदलता। आधिकारिक स्रोत playlist stream के लिए कोई अलग encoder नियम या playlist-विशेष गुणवत्ता परीक्षण नहीं बताते; केवल स्थिर या कम-motion वीडियो देखकर यह मानना ठीक नहीं कि x264 बेहतर होगा।
- NVENC उपलब्ध है और CPU पर अन्य काम भी चलते हैं: NVENC से शुरू करें। OBS scenes, browser sources या दूसरे workload के लिए CPU headroom बच सकता है; अपने सिस्टम पर स्थिरता जाँचें।
- OBS में NVENC उपलब्ध नहीं: x264 चुनें और CPU usage के साथ OBS के rendering तथा encoding lag पर नज़र रखें।
- दोनों उपलब्ध हैं: समान resolution, frame rate और bitrate पर दोनों का unlisted test करें। वही playlist segment और audio रखें जो live stream में होगा। दृश्य artifacts, OBS के dropped/lagged frames और YouTube stream health की तुलना करके स्थिर विकल्प चुनें।
- Upload गति सीमित है: resolution या frame rate के अनुरूप कम मांग वाला stream चुनें। Encoder बदलने से अपर्याप्त upload bandwidth ठीक नहीं होती।
किसी खास मशीन पर तुलनात्मक परीक्षण या NVENC बनाम x264 के quality/performance प्रतिशत यहाँ स्थापित नहीं हैं। परिणाम आपके GPU, CPU, OBS configuration, bitrate और network पर निर्भर हो सकता है।

YouTube और OBS की live settings
YouTube की live encoder settings के अनुसार RTMP/RTMPS में H.264, H.265/HEVC या AV1 video codec स्वीकार किए जा सकते हैं। इस तुलना में NVENC या x264 चुनते समय OBS में चुने गए codec को अपने YouTube stream setup के अनुकूल रखें। YouTube अधिकतम 60 fps, CBR bitrate encoding और 2 सेकंड का recommended keyframe interval बताता है; keyframe interval 4 सेकंड से अधिक न हो।
YouTube की प्रकाशित H.264 recommended bitrate के उदाहरण हैं: 1080p60 के लिए 17 Mbps, 1080p30 के लिए 14 Mbps, 720p60 के लिए 8 Mbps और 720p30 के लिए 8 Mbps। ये YouTube की सिफारिशें हैं, आपके network पर गारंटी नहीं। अपने चुने हुए resolution और frame rate के लिए पूरी bitrate table देखें और सुनिश्चित करें कि upload क्षमता stream को लगातार भेज सके।

OBS की Advanced Recording Settings Guide में NVENC के लिए CQP 16–23, keyframe interval 2 और P5, तथा x264 के लिए CRF 16–23 और veryfast preset recording baseline के रूप में दिए गए हैं। ये recording उदाहरण हैं—YouTube live stream के लिए copy-paste settings नहीं। Live stream में YouTube की CBR और resolution/frame-rate bitrate guidance का पालन करें।
Unlisted test stream से दोनों विकल्प जाँचें
- OBS में encoder चुनें: Settings → Output → Streaming में NVENC या x264 चुनें। आपके OBS संस्करण में labels अलग दिखें तो उपलब्ध streaming encoder विकल्पों की जाँच करें। समान resolution, frame rate और bitrate बनाए रखें।
- YouTube ingest settings मिलाएँ: अपने stream setup में codec और YouTube की RTMP/RTMPS guidance के अनुकूल video settings रखें। YouTube recommended 2-second keyframe interval और CBR लागू करें।
- Unlisted परीक्षण चलाएँ: YouTube पर stream को unlisted रखकर वही playlist segment, audio और अन्य OBS sources चलाएँ जो वास्तविक प्रसारण में होंगे। YouTube encoder settings पृष्ठ भी शुरू करने से पहले test करने की सलाह देता है।
- OBS और YouTube दोनों देखें: OBS में dropped frames तथा rendering/encoding lag जाँचें; YouTube preview और stream health में चेतावनियाँ या गुणवत्ता समस्याएँ देखें। आधिकारिक सुझावों के लिए YouTube live streaming tips देखें।
- एक बार में एक विकल्प बदलें: समान conditions में दूसरे encoder के साथ परीक्षण दोहराएँ। स्पष्ट स्थिरता, स्वीकार्य दृश्य गुणवत्ता और upload के अनुरूप output देने वाला विकल्प रखें।
आम समस्याएँ और उनके उपाय
- NVENC OBS में नहीं दिखता: संभव है संगत NVIDIA GPU/encoder न हो या वर्तमान setup उसे expose न करे। उपलब्ध विकल्प के रूप में x264 चुनें; केवल 2022 की OBS compatibility guide के आधार पर नए hardware का फैसला न करें।
- x264 चलाते समय CPU usage या encoding lag अधिक है: CPU पर encoding का workload पड़ता है। CPU headroom कम हो तो, यदि उपलब्ध हो, NVENC आजमाएँ; अन्यथा stream की resolution या frame rate घटाकर फिर परीक्षण करें।
- NVENC पर दृश्य गुणवत्ता कमजोर लगती है: GPU encoder generation, bitrate और चुनी हुई resolution/frame rate जाँचें। समान bitrate पर पुराने hardware encoders x264 के default
veryfastसे कम गुणवत्ता दे सकते हैं। एक समान unlisted test में तुलना करें। - YouTube stream health खराब है या stream रुकती है: upload क्षमता, bitrate और network स्थिरता जाँचें। Encoder बदलना अकेले कम upload गति का समाधान नहीं है।
- OBS में lag या dropped frames दिखते हैं: देखें कि समस्या rendering, encoding या network से जुड़ी है; एक ही संकेत को encoder की गलती न मानें। समान settings वाला परीक्षण करें और YouTube stream health के साथ OBS आँकड़ों की तुलना करें।
